Customer Ratings & Reviews

I have been wanting to buy the litter robot years ago when I first saw one of the earlier versions. This year for my cats birthday and as a birthday present for me as well (we share the same birthday week) i decided to bite the bullet. I was nervous; for one i wasnt sure if it would work in my small apartment since i am limited on space and two I wasnt sure if my cat would like it since she can be picky. The size is definitely pushing the limits for my small apartment but i made it work, set up was easy, connecting to your phone a breeze and before I even got it 100% set up my cat went in an explored it right away. I didnt even need to leave her old litter box up for her to slowly adjust. She took to it right away and she loves it. The first few days she always was very curious when it started the cleaning cycle and it was so cute to watch her watch it in amazement. The fact that it tracks her weight is a huge plus. Honestly it was worth it, pricey but it has already been a lifesaver. No odor ever now, its almost like not having a cat. Its also silent, you almost never know she uses the litter box if it wasnt for the notifications i get about it. With my back pain and inflammation i deal with this is a lifesaver!

We got 2 kittens earlier this year and after using traditional litter boxes - we gave this a shot. So glad we did and we are never going back! The LR4 works amazing - easy setup, easy app / operation, and far less upkeep to keep litter fresh for your cats. These are completely safe for kitties and have sensors to detect a cat in the device so it will not operate when a cat is in or nearby the opening. Our cats love it and use this almost exclusively despite having other litter boxes available. You will not regret this one even though the cost is a barrier - I value time so it was a no-brainer for us.

Almost a month in, and it's been working pretty great. Straight out the box, it's a plug-and-play device - so that makes it very convenient. Be mindful though, having a compact car, this item IN the box is HUGE. I purchased this through the website, with option to pick up at the store. The Bestbuy staff was very nice and had to help me unbox it to fit right in the front seat of my compact car. The instructions were otherwise spot on. It took a bit for my pets to get used to it, out of fear and novelty. But they've been using it since, without any issues. The device settings and app are pretty user friendly. Two qualms I have though is the price. Omg it is so expensive. The second is that the pet weight it records aren't quite accurate.. Other than that, it's been a great device for a multi cat household.

Absolutely love not having to scoop a traditional litter box! I’ve had the litter robot for about a month with 3 cats. They started exploring and using the litter box the moment I unboxed it! I use normal 13g trash bags with no issue! Cleaning is a breeze, less than 5 minutes each time and extremely light weight to remove pieces and get in the cracks and crevices. The app is speedy and keeps you up to date in real time. Best part, the only noise I hear is when a cycle is running and that’s from the litter rolling around! I use about 20 pounds of litter over the course of 2 weeks now which is very nice considering what I had used with a traditional box. Overall 110% recommend!

We can all agree that the larger the cat, the smellier the poop. Well I have a 7 month old male Maine Coon who eats a lot and poops a lot. Our female cat is 5 years old amd loves it at as well. My male took to it right away making sure his “sister” knew who the boss was. It cycles and then no smell!!! Seriously. My 9 year old takes out the container once it is 90% full - the app tells you that- and then replaces the bag and we are done. I have had to scrape (with a scoop) a few off the side since they got sticky but it comes right off with no problems.we have dogs and they aren’t able to get to the poop fast enough to have “kitty nuggets”. Best money I have spent on my animals and house in a long time!

I wish I would have kept the first one I bought 2 years ago. I ended up canceling the order smh. Would have made life so much easier. This is a must have especially if you have more than one cat. I don’t even have to think about the litter box. I was one of those ppl that would clean the litter box at least 3 times a day before going to work after work and before goi g to bed. I have gained some time and avoided have the clean and smell it as I would when scooping it up. If you are planing on getting one make sure if has enough litter and check the app to see how full the pan is. If there’s not enough litter you may run in to the problem the urine will get stuck it. I use a dry food scooper to remove it. I have one than one cat and a kitten as seen on the photo. My largest cat is 18.9lbs and he fits comfortably in there with space to spare.

[Employee of bestbuy] Was skeptical at first to see if its worth spending so much money on literally just a litter box that just cleans itself. Its about two weeks since I received it. Honestly I do love that I don't have to scoop poop and pee as much as I used too. Especially having 4 cats. Took about two days still atleast one of my cats decided to use the litter robot. I still scoop out one litter box for my older cat but I don't mind since the rest uses the litter robot. It is a bit pricey for this model compared to litter robot 3. It does feel a bit plastic cheapy all around for the hefy price tag but does the job. I do admit it is very quiet and that's not putting it on silent mode. Reduces the amount of litter being used compared to normal scooping. Saves money on litter for sure. If it wasn't so expensive for anyone to just buy, I would recommend this to everyone.

As a devoted owner of two wonderful tabby cats, Bert and Roberta, the relentless chore of litter box scooping can often feel like a never-ending battle. The Litter-Robot 4, an automated, self-cleaning litter box, promises a high-tech solution to this daily grind. After extensive research, here’s a detailed review to help determine if this futuristic contraption is the right fit for your furry companions. The Allure: What the Litter-Robot 4 Promises The Litter-Robot 4 boasts a sleek, modern design and a host of features aimed at making life easier for cat parents. Its core function is its automatic sifting mechanism, which cycles shortly after your cat uses it, depositing waste into a sealed drawer. This means Bert and Roberta could always have a clean bed of litter, a big plus for feline fussiness. Key features that stand out include: * Excellent Odor Control: The sealed waste drawer and carbon filter are consistently praised for significantly reducing, if not eliminating, unpleasant litter box odors. This could be a game-changer for any multi-cat household. * Reduced Scooping: This is the primary draw. Imagine reclaiming those minutes spent daily scooping, now only needing to empty the waste drawer every few days to a week, depending on Bert and Roberta's usage. * App Integration (Wi-Fi Models): The Whisker app allows you to monitor usage, track waste levels, and even manually cycle the unit from your phone. This can be particularly handy for keeping an eye on Bert and Roberta's bathroom habits, which can be an early indicator of health issues. * Suitable for Multiple Cats: The Litter-Robot 4 is designed to handle multiple feline users, and many reviewers with two or more cats report great success. Its sensor technology is designed to detect cats of varying sizes (typically 3 lbs or more). * Litter Versatility: It works well with most clumping litters, so you likely won't need to switch from Bert and Roberta's preferred brand. Potential Paw-ses for Thought: Considerations Before You Buy While the benefits are compelling, there are some factors to consider: * The Price Tag: There's no gentle way to put it – the Litter-Robot 4 is a significant investment. It's one of the most expensive automatic litter boxes on the market. * Size and Space: This is not a compact device. It has a considerable footprint, so you'll need to ensure you have adequate space for it. Its modern design, however, may make it less of an eyesore than traditional boxes. * The Acclimation Period: Bert and Roberta might not take to it immediately. Cats can be wary of new, noisy, or moving objects. The Litter-Robot 4 is quieter than previous models, but some cats may still require a gradual introduction. This could involve leaving it unplugged initially or using treats and positive reinforcement. * Potential for Malfunctions: Like any piece of technology, there's a possibility of sensors failing or the unit malfunctioning. Customer service experiences vary, so it's worth noting. * Cleaning and Maintenance: While it eliminates daily scooping, the Litter-Robot itself will need periodic deep cleaning to maintain hygiene and optimal function. This typically involves disassembling parts of the globe and base. * Weight Sensors and Lighter Cats: While generally good, ensure both Bert and Roberta meet the minimum weight requirement (around 3 lbs) for the sensors to reliably detect them. Bert and Roberta's Tabby Perspective Tabby cats, known for their intelligence and distinct personalities, will likely approach the Litter-Robot 4 with curiosity, and perhaps a little caution. The key will be a patient introduction. Given there are two of them, one might be bolder and show the other the ropes. The Verdict for Bert and Roberta If the daily ritual of scooping for two active tabbies is a major pain point, and the significant upfront cost is manageable, the Litter-Robot 4 could be a fantastic upgrade for your household. The promise of superior odor control, a consistently clean litter bed for Bert and Roberta, and the convenience of dramatically reduced scooping are very attractive. Recommendations for Introduction: * Placement: Set up the Litter-Robot 4 in the same location as their current litter box. * Familiar Litter: Use the same type of clumping litter Bert and Roberta are accustomed to. * Don't Force It: Leave their old litter box available nearby initially. Allow them to investigate the Litter-Robot 4 at their own pace. You can leave it turned off for the first few days. * Positive Reinforcement: Reward any interest or use of the new litter box with treats and praise. * Gradual Transition: Once they start using the Litter-Robot 4, you can stop cleaning their old box to make the new one the more appealing option, eventually removing the old one altogether. Ultimately, the Litter-Robot 4 offers a technologically advanced solution to a common pet owner problem. For Bert and Roberta, it could mean a cleaner, more inviting bathroom experience, and for you, a welcome reprieve from the daily scoop. Weigh the pros and cons carefully against your budget and Bert and Roberta's individual temperaments before making the leap. Litter-Robot 4: A Purrfect Upgrade for Bert and Roberta? For cat parents Bert and Roberta, tired of the daily scoop, the Litter-Robot 4 promises a revolutionary approach to litter box management. This automatic, self-cleaning litter box boasts a range of high-tech features designed to offer convenience for you and a consistently clean potty place for your two tabby companions. But does it live up to the hype, especially in a multi-cat household? Key Features for a Two-Cat Household: * Automatic Cleaning & Odor Control: The standout feature is its patented sifting system that automatically separates waste into a concealed drawer after your cat leaves. This means Bert and Roberta always have a clean bed of litter. Coupled with a carbon filter and a sealed waste drawer (the OdorTrap® System), it aims to significantly neutralize unpleasant litter box odors – a big plus in any home, especially with multiple feline friends. * Multi-Cat Recognition (Potentially): The Litter-Robot 4 features advanced sensors, including a smart scale designed to monitor your cats' weight and bathroom activity. This can be particularly insightful in a multi-cat home, allowing you to keep tabs on each of Bert and Roberta's habits via the Whisker app, which provides real-time updates on waste drawer levels and litter levels. * Quiet Operation: The "QuietSift™" self-cleaning cycles are designed to be unobtrusive, which is beneficial for more skittish cats who might be wary of loud, automated devices. This could make the transition smoother for Bert and/or Roberta. * Reduced Litter Tracking: The design often includes a fence and step to help minimize litter being tracked out of the box, keeping your floors cleaner. The Upsides for Bert, Roberta, and You: * Less Scooping, More Cuddling: The most obvious benefit is freedom from the daily chore of scooping. This means more quality time with Bert and Roberta. * Consistently Clean Litter: Cats are notoriously fussy about cleanliness. The Litter-Robot 4 ensures they have a fresh place to go each time, potentially reducing out-of-box incidents. * Odor Management: Reviewers consistently praise its effectiveness in controlling odors. * Health Monitoring: The app's ability to track waste levels and potentially individual cat usage (based on weight) can offer early insights into any changes in their bathroom habits, which can be an indicator of health issues. * Good for Multiple Cats: Many users with multiple cats report great success with the Litter-Robot 4, finding it handles the increased usage well. The waste drawer capacity is generally sufficient for two cats for a few days. Potential Downsides to Consider: * The Price Tag: The Litter-Robot 4 is a significant investment, considerably more expensive than traditional litter boxes and even some other automatic systems. * Size and Footprint: It's a relatively large unit. Ensure you have adequate space for it, as it's taller and can take up more floor space than a standard large litter box. * Acclimation Period: Bert and Roberta might need some time to get used to their new, high-tech toilet. A gradual introduction is often recommended. * Maintenance & Cleaning: While it eliminates daily scooping, it's not entirely maintenance-free. The waste drawer needs emptying (typically once or twice a week for two cats), litter needs topping up, and the unit requires periodic deep cleaning (every 1-3 months) to keep it hygienic and functioning optimally. Some users have reported that urine can sometimes get stuck between the globe and base over time, requiring more thorough cleaning. * Technical Glitches & Durability Concerns: As with any complex electronic device, there's a possibility of sensor issues or software glitches. Some user reviews mention occasional errors or the need for troubleshooting. There have also been some reports regarding the durability of the globe liner over extended periods, especially with enthusiastic diggers. * Internet Connectivity: To make the most of the app features, a stable Wi-Fi connection is necessary. Setting Up for Success with Bert and Roberta: * Placement: Choose a quiet, accessible spot. * Litter: Use a good quality, clumping clay litter. Avoid silica gel litters or non-clumping varieties. * Introduction: Keep their old litter box available initially. Encourage them to explore the Litter-Robot 4 by placing treats near it or using catnip. You can leave it off at first so they get used to it as a stationary box. Once they start using it, you can turn on the automatic cycling, perhaps with a longer delay setting initially. * Calibration: Ensure the unit is on a firm, level surface for the weight sensors to work accurately. I am so glad I got this whisker litter, Robo, and thankfully, my cats like it too! I did some research and decided I liked this design and size. I’ve had it now for 3 weeks and I’ve saved almost 200 scoops. It weighs my cats when they use it, although it can’t tell the difference between them right now because they weigh about the same. I like how the app sends me notifications of everything that’s going on; if I need to add more litter or empty the drawer or if a cycle has been interrupted by a curious cat (I have to empty it about every 5-6 days with 2 cats). I use sustainably yours, large grain litter, and it works perfectly in the Robo .This has certainly saved me a lot of time not having to scoop and constantly clean like ‘my old’ litter box. I never thought I would even entertain the idea of spending this much money on a litter Robo. Thankfully, I can make 12 month interest free payments on Best Buy and I will say it has been a good investment so far! My one cat has OCD and constantly has to go into the litter Robo while it is cycling to clean it out. It is really really funny. It also fit exactly where my other planter style litter box used to be in the bathroom. I have the litter box off the ground because I have spinal problems that make it harder for me to reach down to the floor.

Ive had the Litter Robot 3 since 2017. And my 2 cats still used it to this day until Ive decided to get the newer one when alot of problem arises on my 3 being the hood getting detached on it and the robot is not cycling. Figured out whats happening and the 2 prong for the led attachment needs to touch the base of the power lead and it works well now but I dont want to deal with this problem when im on vacation or at work. Hence to solve this conundrum Ive decided to get the Robot 4. Everything about the updated robot is such a great improvement from the 3. First the basket waste is much bigger. The inside is gray so the inside will not looks like the freaking berlin wall with tons of crap on it after a few days. And lastly is its sooo silent conpared to the 3. Now my only problem with this thing is its I had to buy the ramp for my cats. Another 65bucks plus tax. The ramp is consistent with the plastic material that they use in the robot which is another great upgrade from the older robot 3. It is actually a little smaller form factor than the robot 3 but the insides are almost the same. My 16lbs cat loves it alot and transistioned very well in just a day of setting up the new one. It also came in fully assembled unlike when Ive ordered the robot 3 before so its a huge help. The hood and led lights are now not connected to each other so there is no problem being the hood getting detached. Ive put my robot 3 to my garage for safe keeping and plan to use it as extra one when im on holiday vacations. Overall great investment for my 2 spoiled cats. Lol

If you are on the fence about purchasing this product, buy it!! We were subscribed to cardboard litterboxes costing $66 monthly. This robot will pay for itself in a year. Accompanied with an awesome app, you will become part of the non scoopers club! Your kitty will enjoy clean litter each time, no more gooey paws, which in turn minimizes tracking. The robot contains the smell, and there is a light inside alllowing them to see. It is equipped with a sensor that prevents a cleaning cycle while kitty is doing their business. We recommend buying the carpet tray if you don’t have your robot on a hard surface, that way you will receive accurate weight readings on your app. We set up the robot without power or litter so our 2 kitties could explore the inside and familiarize themselves with the smell. After that, we replaced their litter box with the robot and they took to it. We absolutely love the Litter Robot 4!!!

The Litter Robot 4 has changed our lives. I feel many people say this and it is true. Pros: 1 Robot for 4 cats ✔️ Easy Installation ✔️ User friendly ✔️ Most issues can be resolved by searching on tik tok or YouTube ✔️ Reduced smell 90% ✔️ 75% less litter tracking ✔️ Litter last longer ✔️ My cats health improve (eyes) ✔️ Less back pain for me ✔️ Cons: Drawer full issues, sometimes takes a couple cycles to adjust to empty when changed ❌ Cats tend to think it’s a home and will lay in there ❌

Game changer! Have had automatic cat boxes that were ok but required quite detailed cleaning and frequent expensive litter tray replacements. Litter robot uses any clumping litter and receptacle bag replacements are not proprietary and less expensive ones can be found at big box store. It does require some cleaning, mainly due to dust and the occasional “mishap.” App tracks box visits by cat’s weight and the percentage of waste in the bin to full. NO outside of box “accidents” since cats started using.

Pretty good overall totally eliminates all smell. It’s quiet. It has a nightlight even has an app. All kinds of features tells you when it’s full gives you your cats weight great product.

My wife and I decided to dive in and pick up a Litter Robot. We can’t believe how quiet and effective the robot is at keeping the litter fresh and clean. We had an issue with one of our cats not taking to it right away, but over time it’s improving. This is no fault of the Litter Robot, just know it may take time for your cats to get comfortable with using it. We like being able to track our cats weights in the app as well. Overall it’s a questionably overpriced accessory to have in the house, but really makes our lives easier and we feel is going to pay for itself over time.

I was hesitant because of the price, but after using the Litter-Robot 4, I can honestly say it's one of the best purchases I've made for my cats. Setup was quick, and my cats adjusted to it much faster than I expected. The automatic cleaning cycle keeps the litter box fresh after every use, which has dramatically reduced odors in my home. I also love the app—it lets me know when the waste drawer is full and even tracks my cats' usage, giving me peace of mind if there are any changes in their bathroom habits. It's surprisingly quiet, easy to maintain, and has saved me so much time by eliminating the need to scoop litter every day. The build quality feels premium, and the safety sensors work flawlessly. While the upfront cost is high, the convenience, cleanliness, and odor control make it well worth the investment—especially for multi-cat households or anyone with a busy schedule. I only wish I had bought it sooner! Highly recommended.

The litter box robot is the best purchase I have ever made. It makes caring for cats much easier. The instructions are very clear and simple. It saves time. Now you don't have to worry about your furry friends when we go away somewhere. We have three cats and one robot is enough for everyone. There were problems with training one cat to the new device, but the instructions really helped and now he uses it with pleasure. Previously, other models were purchased from other manufacturers, the quality was not very good and worked intermittently. We wanted to try cheaper options, but they were all returned to the sellers. We settled on the litter 4 and this is the best choice. Many thanks to the manufacturer for such a wonderful device. I definitely recommend purchasing the litter box robot 4.

Easy to set up and monitor with the mobile app.Not completely maintenance free. After 10 months of heavy usage by 5 cats, I had to start scooping the base occasionally The wet litter began sticking to the base. All being considered, it was still a good investment.

I did not want to spend this much on a litter box, but will say it’s worth every penny. No smell, easy to set up and use, and my cat took to it right away, she was playing in it before it was set up.

A sleek and effective solution for my 4 cat litter box situation. The companion app has an accessible UI, provides data on its usage, and allows for great control of the device. Hefty price but after the month or so I've had it I've had great results, even with my most timid and skittish cats. It's imperative you ween them off their old litterbox as the instructions suggest.
