This is a great little router. Not only does it have clean sleek curves that make it look way better than must routers out there but it also has great signal strength. In addition it's super easy to setup and configure with the mobile app and supports a mesh system if you buy more than one of them. I was an early adopter backing this on Kickstarter and it's one of the few devices that delivered it's promises. The Fastlane feature works great on most devices and helps a lot if you have other wifi signals in your area.

Great product with great performance. Easy setup and mobile app interface. Look forward to future hardware/software updates to bring some other nifty management tools into play.

I live in a large apartment complex in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood. My devices are easily within range of 50+ other wireless networks. Needless to say this makes the spectrum in my apartment very crowded. I new I wasn't getting the speeds I should have from my isp so I upgraded to a portal. I immediately saw my speeds jump up 20 mbs on the wireless. The iPhone app for the portal makes setting up guest networks for visitors a snap. It can also give you a quick look at all the devices on the network or allow for easy ota updates. I can not recommend the portal enough and I can't imagine going back to my old router.

The Portal router is super simple to set up and covers my entire house. Speeds are great and don't ever dip during peak hours. The app support is very user friendly as well.

Fast and dependable router. Bought two to extend to an area that I could never get a signal. Easy to setup and worked like a charm. Both routers never crash or drop signal.

Overall I get good speeds with this router. I was previously using the newest Airport Extreme from Apple and this router usually gave the same or higher speeds. However, there are times where I would have to reset the router multiple times when speeds were very low. Other times the router would just not connect to the internet for some reason and I'd have to reset which was kind of annoying. I know this had nothing to do with my actual internet connection because I tested with another airport extreme I usually use to extend my network. The range on this router is subpar if you have multiple stories. With my previous router I could get a strong signal in almost every corner of the upstairs/downstairs parts of our apt (1200 sqft). With the portal the signal dropped almost immediately after going downstairs and I couldn't even get a signal in some areas. Overall it's a good router, definitely worth the price compared to many competitors. However, they are still adding features/fixing bugs. Not sure if I would buy it for the full price at the moment (I supported on Kickstarter).

If you're looking for a router that can cover most areas with speed then look no further. This is the router to get. It has been giving me consistent speed that even exceeded my pay subscription speed. I have broadband service from ATT believe it or not! I've tried cable and it gave me even more speed than I've expected. This is a smart router that will automatically distribute speed accordingly to devices need. This is great for gamers as well because it will give it priority speed needed for no lag. I've backed this router before it even came to the market. It has been true to it claims.

This is a great product easy install and ability to have multiple wireless networks on both bands but what opens up the speed is the 32 channels it offers.

I supported this from kick starter forward. Then after receiving, I canned my router to move ahead with Portal Dual Band wifi router. After a setup my laptop was faster, my wife's laptop was faster, and my wife's windows tablet was faster. Further, our home network acted like a home network should... all connected. We have very good wifi throughout the house. I next saw to it my daughter and her family had the same. They found the same consistency-- network throughout the house

I live in an area with high WiFi congestion. There are roughly 25 routers within range of my home and since I work from home, it is especially important that I have solid WiFi. We also do a lot of online streaming and need great WiFi for that purpose, too. The Portal router is excellent in handling all the congestion, giving us new frequencies to use and really getting rid of all of the issues I previously had with congestion!

Works great in places with crowded/congested WiFi, by quickly taking advantage of channels ignored by other consumer routers. It's like riding a private, traffic-free highway when everyone else sits in a traffic jam. Since switching to Portal, gone are the slow transfers and frequent time-outs!

The Portal router is one of the best routers that I have ever owned I work for an ISP and this router will provide the maximum provisioned speed from your ISP that's assigned to your modem I have had other $300 - $400 routers and this blows them out of the water.

I got this through the initial Kickstarter project and I have been pretty happy ever since. The router itself has provided a fast, reliable connection all the time and the user interface is easy to setup. No more dropping internet with this router.

Best wireless router in crowded wifi urban environment! Since buying this to replace a linksys the throughput greatly increased and the timeouts were eliminated, everywhere in our condo.

I've used my Portal as a powerful extension in a NYC apartment with thick walls. It works wonders where the competition (such as >$100 Linksys type products) didn't work as well.

I bought mine as a kickstarter project almost a year ago. The unit was simple to setup and tech support was quick to respond to my questions. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a simple to use WiFi router.

After nearly a year, my Portal router is still going strong. It's a solid router with a decent app. Some advanced functionality is missing on the back end, but it's been a great router that I'd recommend.
