I traded in my Surface Pro 9 for the the Black model because this configuration is available in store. Also I already had the keyboard, slim pen and arch mouse in Black, so I was able to purchase device only with no extra cost. This model runs more smoother than the Pro 9. The move from Intel processor to Snapdragon was fine because MS store has essential apps that run on ARM that I use. You can download, install and use Google Chrome because it's designed for ARM. If you use a lot of programs that are designed for 86x architecture, then a computer that uses a Snapdragon processor may not be for you. If you need to access workplace webpage, ARM computer is not for you. ARM processors have come along way to close the gap between them and 86x architecture, but there is some issues with compatibility. Also the price point maybe an issue with the different configurations available for new 2026 13 inch Surface Pro. This configuration is $1800.00. Are there some more affordable models? Yes. It’s all about what are you using your Surface Pro for and how much you want to pay.

I purchased this unit as a potential for replacing my office setup wher I drive two external 4k samsung curved monitors. I will be self-developing an AI-based CRM system for my insurance business. Pro: - Lighting fast compared to my Pro 9. - Same form factor as earlier surface pro. - Can use same keyboard, pen, docking, etc. - Much better battery life than prior versions. - Bright, vibrant color hi-res screen. - Solid Wi Fi and bluetooth conectivity. - Quiet (no fan). Runs cool. Cons: - limited drivers for legacy hardware. - limited software compatibility - picked up a browser virus in first week of operation. - Ordeal to factory reset and reload Windows 11 - USB ports are not as capable as Thunderbolt. (no PCIe tunneling) - Experiencing display driving issues on my setup. Extreme flickering. For my application, so far, the cons outweigh the pros.

The Surface Pro makes a fantastic first impression. The build quality is excellent, the 13 inch OLED display is gorgeous, and the device itself is incredibly portable. Battery life has also been impressive, making it great for travel, web browsing, or just relaxing and watching YouTube or other videos. Unfortunately, the initial setup was far more cumbersome than it should have been. Between Windows updates, Microsoft account prompts, and various setup screens, it took well over 30 minutes before I could actually start using the device. Even worse, the on-screen keyboard simply would not work on my unit. I rebooted, installed every available Windows update, and still couldn't type unless I connected a Surface Pro keyboard. I suspect this was an issue specific to my device, but it made the out-of-box experience incredibly frustrating. On this note, the optional and detachable Alcantara keyboard is genuinely quite nice. If you also get the slim pen, it’s super convenient to have that charge wirelessly in its own charging cutout. The pen works well, but does not feel as natural to use as something like an Apple Pencil. I'm also disappointed that Microsoft still includes a proprietary Surface charging connector. USB-C charging is supported, but I would have preferred Microsoft to ditch the proprietary charger altogether and simply standardize on USB-C. Performance is another mixed bag. Native ARM applications run smoothly and efficiently, but many Windows programs are still built for x86 or x64 processors and must run through emulation. While compatibility is generally good, performance can definitely suffer depending on the application. For email, web browsing, video calls, streaming, and other everyday tasks, the Surface Pro performs very well. However, if you rely on a wide variety of traditional Windows software or need maximum performance, an Intel or AMD based system remains the more capable and versatile choice. Overall, the Surface Pro is beautifully designed and excels as a lightweight productivity and media consumption device, but the rough setup experience, software quirks, proprietary charging, and ARM compatibility limitations keep it from being an easy recommendation, especially when a lot of comparably performing devices can be had for less money.

This is my first experience with the Surface Pro and the versatility of it whether you need a laptop or a tablet is impressive! When unboxing, the quality of the device is something you notice right away, from the heft of it to the precision of the adjustable hinge, everything about the device feels extremely nice. That feeling of quality continues when you turn the device on and you see that beautiful OLED display with its bright and vibrant colors. Combing this with the keyboard and pen you truly have a laptop experience in a device that has power that belies its thinness. The keyboard, though not a replacement for a laptop with a much bigger keyboard and trackpad, feels incredibly good to use with a nice tactile feel to the keys and trackpad. This is the same with the pen that comes with the keyboard case. Spec wise Snapdragon X Elite had plenty of power and didn’t skip a beat with anything I’ve used it for. Even though I won’t use this for gaming, I tried Asphalt legends with this to see how it would do and was very surprised as the Surface didn’t skip a beat and I had no frame rate drops while playing it. Though 512 GBs is sufficient for me, I like how I can easily upgrade the SSD drive to 1 TB if I wanted to in less than a couple minutes. This is is something I don’t think any other tablet can do and though you can upgrade your SSD on most laptops, it’s much easier with the Surface. Having dual USB/C/USB4 ports allow for fast transfer of files, charging or adding an external monitor. Microsoft claims 15.5 hours of battery life and though I don’t know how close it is, I was able to get thru my day with ample battery life left for what I used it for. On the surface (no pun intended) when you see the versatility the Surface Pro gives you, it starts to make more sense. It gives you the tablet experience that’s only a little heavier and thicker than other tablets but much thinner than a laptop. And it does all this while delivering performance that will match those much thicker laptops. Work, play or both, if you need a device that can be a tablet while keeping the versatility a full laptop delivers, the Surface Pro is an excellent choice.

I have been using this Microsoft Surface Pro 13 for almost two months now. During that time, this device traveled up and down the coast of California by plane, train, and automobile, and it also stayed with me during a short hospital stay. I swear it is built for the road warrior, but it also works well as a companion when you're immobile for a while. When I first got the computer, it took a few days to get used to the new format. I took it on a week-long trip and found the convertible tablet/laptop actually worth it despite its flaws. Having spent a week traveling and a week in the hospital, I can definitely say this is an all-around winner in the laptop category. Initially, I did not think I’d like the Surface Pro format, partly because I have spent my entire life on desktops and laptops, and when I use a tablet, it's purely for entertainment, not for productivity. This time around, I forced myself to take an all-in-one device for a trip up the Coast Starlight to San Francisco, and a comfortable top-down cruise up the north coast of California for some of the beautiful redwoods, and finally a flight back to my hometown of Los Angeles. The goal of the trip was to see if I could travel ‘light’ and still be productive in completing all my work. I think it was a success despite a few good, bad, and ugly moments. I will say it was more of a getting-used-to thing for me than an actual flaw in the device. Two weeks after my trip, I found myself in the hospital. This little laptop was a lifesaver. For one, I was able to not only use it to watch my TV programs for entertainment by undocking it from the keyboard, but its light form factor also allowed me to work comfortably while lying down. The camera helped me join some zoom meetings and I got a whole lot of work done despite being bedridden. Having spent more than a few days with this Surface Pro, here are my thoughts on the good, the bad, and the ugly… Good - Rapid pairing on the magnetic keyboard and for the Bluetooth slim pen. Love the integrated magnetic storage within the keyboard and the integrated charging. - Plenty of power and battery life to get work done. Copilot with Local AI does work. You can run local AI models if needed, though 16 GB of RAM is a limiting factor. - Great thermal protection; the laptop is very solidly built and does not get hot at all. - Amazing speakers; let's just say they're loud enough to give you a movie-like experience in your hotel or hospital room. - Color display is beautiful. My Surface Pro 13 has a 3:2 2880x1920 OLED screen, and it's bright, beautiful, and color accurate. No con-trails when using the maps. The touch screen is very responsive. - The cameras are really good for what they are. The front-facing camera is an ultra-wide 1440p camera, and the rear is a 10-megapixel camera. I was able to use it to take pictures like I would with an iPad or phone. The video quality is not bad at all. - Found myself relieving stress by using some wonderful Mandala coloring apps with a touchscreen and pen. It's totally stress-relieving. - When in tablet mode, the familiar Windows apps work rather well for the most part, but depending on the apps, you may need to use the pen to click on small icons, as apps are not designed for touch screen tablet users, unlike those of dedicated tablets. - The envy from your seatmate, covet thy neighbor for sure. I had a million questions from people who saw me working. - Affinity comes bundled with it, so you get a very capable image editing program when you download it. Bad - For most of us, when we shut down the laptop, we close the screen. More than once, I pushed the screen onto the keyboard with a loud thud. It's a matter of getting used to the fact that there is NO hinge here, and the cover keyboard is magnetically mounted. - USB-C can be a bit finicky; sometimes certain devices won't connect properly on the first try. I haven't figured out why, but it has happened more than once. - The rubbery keyboard has a weird bounce I am not used to yet. It's workable, but I wish it had a little less flex. I tend to make a lot more typing errors than usual. Please note that the keyboard is optional and must be purchased separately. Microsoft offers 2 different keyboards for this device, and the one I have is the standard keyboard that was offered and included at launch. - It's a tight fit with a keyboard for a plane’s food tray; it was fine on the train. It's fine if you use it without a keyboard. Ugly - The stock magnetic charger sometimes pops off and mounts at a weird angle. I ended up getting a USB Type-C charger to help charge the device. I have not used the factory charger since. - It's got a bit of weight, but I realize it's because of the touch screen. I compared it to my other portable laptops, and it's about 1 lb heavier, likely due to the touch screen panel. Then again, it's portable as it comes. - Trying to be productive with just the on-screen keyboard is a test of patience. However, it's workable if you can work on an iPad or an Android tablet. It's slow, but workable in a pinch. - The apps are usually not tablet-specific, so some frustration in this goes to the ugly column because of the misclicks in tablet mode. You really have to use the pen. So, should you get it? Well, it depends on your end use. This is a specialized device that would work well for a road warrior or someone who needs a specific type of machine that requires a pen for drawing / creative work. I have found myself gravitating to the Surface Pro more and more in my daily use. I just grab it and go. I charge it maybe once a day for a top-up, the battery life is so good, and it's light to carry around. Honestly, once you get used to working with it, it's hard to go back to the old desktop or laptop.

I’ve been very impressed with this Surface Pro. The OLED display is stunning—bright, vibrant, and incredibly sharp, making everything from documents to streaming content look fantastic. The Snapdragon X2 Elite processor feels fast and responsive, and with 16GB of RAM, multitasking is effortless. I regularly have multiple browser tabs, Office apps, and Teams running without any slowdowns.

Durable and reliable, great battery life. Display is good quality. Would have been good to have Microsoft slim pen be included in it as part of a package though.

Very good computer. Batter last longer. Is faster very good screen quantity. Has too many features that im still getting the hang of things. Very usefull ai.

Transitioning from the iPad Pro M4 to the Surface Pro has been a fantastic experience for my daily workflow. Performance is lightning-fast, and the OLED display is incredibly crisp and vibrant. While I don’t game heavily, the device handles titles surprisingly well, which is a great bonus. Watching movies is a visual treat on this screen, and the ability to upgrade the SSD myself adds a level of versatility the iPad simply lacks. While I still use my iPhone, iPad mini, and Mac, the Phone Link integration keeps everything synced up seamlessly. It offers a more flexible computing experience than the iPad, and I’m very happy with the switch. I love that I’m not missing any functionality from my previous iPad setup. If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be regarding the build design: I wish the bottom edge that makes contact with surfaces was better protected. Mine has already picked up a scratch, so I recommend investing in a good skin or case right away. Overall, this is a top-tier device for productivity and media consumption.

This computer is fast and smooth. Was not sure about the Snapdragon X2, but it seems to be faster than I was expecting. I love the Surface; the Price Not as Much!

The Microsoft Surface Pro 13” OLED has been an excellent choice for school. It’s lightweight and easy to carry around campus, while still being fast enough for multitasking, research, assignments, and video calls. The OLED touchscreen is bright and sharp, and the 16GB of memory and 512GB SSD give me plenty of performance and storage for everyday student needs. I also really like the flexibility of using it as both a tablet and a laptop. Overall, a great option for students looking for something portable, powerful, and versatile

Love it worth the money for its functionality. Small enough to be mobile it’s light weight. The keyboard and pen work flawlessly with the product.

I bought my first Surface pro in 2019 mainly for the portability. I’m a real estate agent and an admissions coordinator at a nursing home. I need the capability of a tablet and the functionally of a laptop without bulky weight. Great design, quality and portability! I just bought its replacement and it is every bit as functional as my first one. I can’t see buying anything else for the work I do.

Fast and efficient. Ideal for travel. Works with old attachabke keybiard, numberpad and mouse.

Surface Pro - 13" OLED Touchscreen - Snapdragon X2 Elite (12 Core) 2026 - 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD is a beautifully crafted two-in-one computer. The finish of its aluminum body is second to none, smooth and exudes a premium look and feel. Mine is Black but also is available in Platinum and Dune (sort of a gold color). While this review is for the 13” Surface Pro itself, I did buy the Microsoft Surface Pro Flex Keyboard with 2nd Gen Slim Pen (Black) separately because I intended to use the Surface Pro both as a tablet and a laptop. Keep in mind that any keyboard for the Surface Pro will be a separate purchase item from the Surface Pro. That said, I am very impressed with the fit and finish of the Surface Pro as well as its performance and utility. It only weighs 1.97 lbs. and is about 0.37” thick. So, plenty portable for my use. It has a 13” OLED display (2880x1920) with a 3:2 aspect ratio – great for documents, reading, notes etc. – running at up to 120Hz and can be adjusted to be very bright if needed (930 nits if HDR is used). You can set the refresh rate at 60Hz or 120Hz or Auto for a variable refresh rate depending upon what is being shown on the screen – the Auto setting helps battery life. The action from the screen is fluid and smooth in every respect and very snappy with no sluggishness detected at any time. Of course, the OLED screen gives you a beautiful picture with brilliant colors and deep blacks with high resolution as you would expect. The touch screen works precisely and palm rejection when using an active pen for writing, doodling, drawing etc. is flawless. Another thing I really like is the kickstand engineered into the lower half of the back of the Surface Pro which adjusts up to 165°. This angle places the screen nearly flat on a desk so that you can easily write or draw on it without the awkwardness of trying to write or draw on a completely flat tablet. The kickstand and hinges are robust and can support this angle indefinitely without worry. One other thing – behind the kickstand is a magnetically attached plate that is secure yet easily removed that covers the SSD. You can easily remove the 512GB SSD (M.2 2230) it comes with replacing it with a 1TB SSD of your choice as long as the new SSD is the same type and dimension as the original M.2 2230 SSD. The Surface Pro uses (the one I have) the Snapdragon X2 Elite 12-core processor. This is an ARM processor as opposed to x86 processors by Intel or AMD, the standard processors going back many years. The Snapdragon processors consume less energy and run cooler than x86 processors, but their performance is smooth and snappy. One thing to be aware of is that x86 software will generally not run on ARM processors directly. The Surface Pro has built-in emulation software that will allow x86 software to run in emulation, and for the most part that is done smoothly and most times the user is unaware that emulation software is being used. However, software or apps designed for ARM processors run directly on the Snapdragon processor with speed and dependability. My point in mentioning this is that if you must use specific x86 software be sure to check that either there is an ARM version or at least that the x86 software will run well in the Surface Pro’s emulation software. So far in my limited time with the Surface Pro, I’ve found that Kindle Reader isn’t ported to ARM yet so I use the Cloud Kindle Reader in my browser, and it works flawlessly with an internet connection. The entire MS Office suite of apps runs flawlessly on the ARM architecture of the Surface Pro along with a lot of other software. A word about camera functionality: there is the front-facing camera at 1440p (2K) resolution and the rear-facing camera at 10 megapixels. In conjunction with the front-facing camera there are built-in microphones along with an infrared camera for facial recognition security. For video calls and/or teleconferencing the front camera and mics provide excellent visual and audio quality in addition to the AI video features such as adjustable background blur, noise reduction and eye contact correction. Additionally, the camera will keep you centered in its pickup if you move around somewhat while using the video conferencing feature. Altogether, the camera functionality is excellent to include the audio, whatever meeting software you may be using for video conferencing. The rear camera can handle ordinary photo taking but really is designed to take scans of documents you may need to have on your Surface Pro for signatures or simply to put in an accessible file folder along with other documents. Due to the GPU upgrade from the previous generation playback of 4K HD content or streaming or meeting activity is smooth. The Surface Pro is a CoPilot PC and as such offers 80 TOPS from its NPU for advanced AI activity which means more of it can be done onboard rather than always having to depend on cloud processing. As far as connectivity is concerned, the Surface Pro offers two USB4 Type-C ports that can handle charging, full bandwidth DisplayPort 1.4a along with running up to three (3) 4K displays at 60Hz each, as well as other peripherals etc. The Surface Connect port allows you to use the Surface proprietary charger instead of using one of the USB-C ports for charging. Additionally, the Surface Connect port allows use of the second-generation Surface Dock that provides additional connections for your peripherals while it charges your Surface Pro at the same time. The Surface Dock is an additional purchase. Finally, battery life is in the advertised ballpark. My Surface Pro went about 13.5 hours with mixed use. If I was running videos only, I think my runtime would bring it into the advertised range of up to15.5 hours, so my opinion is the battery life will last more than a working day unless you are putting it under extreme load continually. By the way, I only noticed a warm back to the Surface Pro using it as I described above. I’ve read that steady, intense heavy loads can cause it to become hot and subject to thermal throttling, which will cause reduced power output. I’ve not experienced that and I suspect most users of school, office or home use won’t either. I really like my new Surface Pro 13” Snapdragon X2 Elite and plan to use it for a good long while!

My previous surface lasted 5 years. This one may last longer. This laptop is superfast and convenient. I use it for work and study. The battery lasts 8 hours on a row without recharging. Looks sleek, and the screen is so crystal clear. It was love at first sight. I'm so happy with my purchase.

Great experience setting up and lightweight, making travel needs easy.

I keep buying these cause they are versatile and powerful. Previous ones were all i7 processors but this snap dragon is very comparable. Other than installing printer software and a few others, the upgrade was a smooth and easy transfer.

I love my Surface Pro! It’s fast, awesome, and works really well. Everything feels smooth and responsive, and it’s great for both work and everyday use. Definitely a great device!

The 16GB RAM/512GB SSD model is sufficient for Office, web work, media and normal multitasking. Choose 24GB or 32GB for development, large creative projects, virtualized workflows or a longer useful lifespan. The SSD is replaceable
