Works well just like previous leased one since it is identical model. It saves me $10 a month of rental fee.

I rented for $10 a month the modem/router from xfinity when I first signed up its triple play service. Then I learned I could buy an identical unit without having to pay the monthly rent. If your rent of the unit over however long xfinity's contract would bind you is more than what the unit would cost you if you choose to own it, it would make sense to own it.

This is the same modem/router that Comcast rents for $10.00 per month. In the long run, it is cheaper to buy this one (on sale) than to add to Comcasts bottom line. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is it didn't come with a battery. (That is only needed to keep phone service during power outages.) Battery easily found online for under $10.00 shipped.

This is what I have been trying to get since the past year but finally got this unit which is easy to install and use. It's a great product and I reciup my investment in less than 2 years since I own this and not lease it.

I bought this Cable Modem and Wireless Router with Telephony Adapter because I was tired of paying cable modem rental fees. I rented this modem from Comcast for a few months and decided to purchase it. Works great.

If you're paying $10/mo to COMCAST to rent their Cable Modem/Router/Telephony Adapter, THIS IS AN EXACT REPLACEMENT. It was easy to install and works just like the old one. (You will need to call COMCAST to get them to identify the new unit....and to stop the billing for the old unit.)

After spending money renting a modem, I thought I'd go ahead and buy one. It was a bit expensive, but it works great.

I bought this to help lower my cable TV costs. It will pay for itself in less than a year. Being a novice with electronics, I still found replacing/installing the modem a simple thing. It works great.

I needed no assistance in setting up this device. Works well with no problems yet. Nice to have the modem and router combined as it takes up less space.

There really isn't any option to this if you are getting your phone and cable form comcast.. Other routers just have cable and internet, no phone.

The biggest issue I have with Comcast over a lot of the approved options is the lack of a phone jack. This seems to be the only one with the phone jack connection. Otherwise you can use any of the 50 specified options. The big thing that stands out and tells you right away that this isn't the same model as the rental is the size and the lack of the 5ghz speeds even though when you call Comcast and ask about options they will claim it has it. So if it does that means that it doesn't do 2.4 and 5 like the Comcast rental. I don't understand why you can't just buy the same version that they use. Why sell a dumbed down version. However, at the end of the day it works. It connects fairly easily (not as easy as the Motorola we first purchased that lacked the phone jack). Speeds seem to have improved over the old setup and so has the coverage inside the house.

Extremely easy set up. Works well - we are pleased that we so not have to rent a modem.

This is the same modem that the cable company was charging me $10.00 a month for. It will pay for itself in 1 year.

I had a new Comcast service installation. After the cable was connected, the installer made a phone call and within a couple of minutes the modem was registered for both internet and phone. It was a snap. Changing the wireless name and password was as straightforward as for other routers that I have used. The downside is the expense of the modem/router, but that's mostly controlled by Comcast (the modem is Comcast-branded) as far as I can tell.

This replaces virtually the same router I was renting from comcast for 10.00 a month. I had it setup and activated in about 30 minutes. Not the fastest wifi but saving money is more important.

This modem-router is easily setup and activated on the Comcast network and saves a $10.00 per month charge.

Since I am an Comcast/Xfinity subscriber, I needed a modem/router unit which was compatible. This was the case and I was able to buy this unit and stop the $10.00 per month rental fee.
