Compact, slim in size can fit in most places without being too conspicuous. Have used it for a couple days now and it's working as advertised.

The wifi is weaker than the wireless router that I renting from Comcast. It is good for small house.

This Xfinity router was super simple to set up and has had no downtime whatsoever. Great router for somebody who is looking for a reliable Internet connection. Although for the price it should have 5 GHz band.

This is the exactly the same unit that xfinity uses when they install your cable/internet service. Which on my plan, would charge $10.00 per month rental fee. In less that 2 years, it will have paid for itself.

Changed over to Xfinity phone service and this was the only choice for a modem. The wifi part of the router is not very good so I had Xfinity put the unit in bridge mode so I can use my own router. If you are going to use the wifi function of this unit, I give it 3 stars.

It was simple to connect and Xfinity found it and registered it automatically. Works just as good as a new router from xfinity but without the renting.

Modem/Router combo working well so far

I purchased the combination modem/router to replace two units that I was renting from Xfinity. It was easy to install and the password is much shorter for in-house Wi-Fi users than was the old one. The download speed rate on Wi-Fi is still much slower than when the Ethernet cable is in use, but it works fine for most purposes.

I bought this to eliminate the 10.00 a month rental from Comcast. So far I see no difference and will be money ahead in a few months.

...but Wifi is terrible. The antena probably is the cheapest they could find, therefore the reception is more than lousy. You need to get an additional wifi router to complement this. Also, although the box is marked as "Xfinity residential gateway router", the technician at Xfinity had the worst time trying to find out what was the correct model. They even asked where I bought it and if I brought it from abroad!! unbelievable...

The unit sold by Best Buy is a version or more behind what Xfinity is providing for rental. Software had to be updated and more importantly the wireless router portion of the unit was a single channel of mediocre distance and speed. Newer model is dual band with greater range. To get satisfacrory wireless I had to buy another wireless router and bypass the on board wireless hardware and software

Switching from a rented modem to buying one only makes sense if you are staying with the carrier (Comcast). This will pay for itself in just over a year and then save me the $10 per month rental fee.
