In the long run, it is better to own than rent this modem if you have cable, internet and phone. This model is the only one sold at Best Buy. I had the cable company check out my connections, and the installer not only properly installed this unit, but he also evaluated and upgraded all my cable connectors inside and outside my home.

It replaces the 10.00 per month that Comcast charges. I have been paying 10.00 per month for over 4 years. This was a no brainer

When I found out this is the wifi router that Comcast uses an charges $10 a month it was a no brainier to buy my own Works great!

Better than the modem from Comcast. Was having phone issues. With this modem the issues are gone. Glad I switched to my own modem.

First was there another modem that would work? I looked at Best Buy, Amazon, Comcast website and honestly I think this is the only one. I needed it for Cable TV, Internet and Telephone. I checked all places for the best price and all were the same price but Best Buy was pick up at the store within one day. That was an advantage. The price I paid versus the cost of rental was equal if you use for 2 years and then replace. So I am not sure I can recommend purchase over rental. At least rental you can upgrade and feel good. Purchase you have to use for over 2 years. I did not use the router in this modem/router. I read the reviews and I already had a Netgear Nighthawk, so I decided to bridge the Arris and continue to use the Netgear router. Overall my internet and telephone are working great. No complaints. I am very happy with Comcast products and would not change.

This model is the only modem option available with Xfinity internet and phone service. It does what it is supposed to do. It's a better option than a monthly lease in my book.

With the pro help of your salesman, I selected a new cable modem. My old one was outdated and owned by the cable company. It works perfectly and was just what I needed. Hurrah for Best Buy.

I found no issues with this product. I was able to set up no different than setting up a router up that comes directly from Comcast.

It works great, its the same identical one that I rented from Comcast for $10 a month.

Box will pay for itself after 11 months of box rentals.

In approximately 1-1/2 years I'll have recouped my investment and my Comcast bill will be reduced... which is a good thing

I didn't have much of a choice, I have xfinity and this is the only one that would work.

This replaced my rental Modem so I do not have to pay the monthly $10.00 Comcast bill. Will pay itself off in under 22 months.

I wanted on approved by Comcast that would work for my phone and internet. Does great, and I have more desk space now because I went from 2 pieces of equipment to one!

I replaced cable provider's gateway with this. Works very well as cable modem and telephone source (I paired it with a Panasonic DECT system that I like a lot). The only ding on this unit is that it's not a great wifi router, especially on range. I bridged it to a Linksys 1200AC router and range extender, and I'm now getting great wifi throughout house..

Needed a new Gateway and the staff recommended this one because I have Vomcast. Thank goodness someone has the knowledge

Bought this for my parents to avoid monthly rental fees from Comcast. Works great!

This was easy to set up and change the password. WiFi works ok, but my cable wires are split. VERY fast network speed using a ethernet cable

If you have Comcast internet plus voice, and don't want to pay the exorbitant monthly fees to rent their box, then this is the way to go.
