We bought the moden and router from best buy. We thought it was a better option than renting it monthly from Comcast. It has been working great ! The salesman was well informed and gave me the right unit for my needs! Thank You!

Love this I wish I would of bought this 12 years ago when I started using cable I would of save over $1000 for a rental fee of $10 a month. No need to rent when the purchase is around $200 it pays for itself in less than 2 years.

Same as the cable brand, came with multiple with multiple phone connectors

It works just fine but is still connected to Comcast. Easy installation, configuration through the Comcast website.

Plan on using a separate router if you want any wifi more than a foot away from this one.

It was necessary to hardwire 1 device from the modem so that the wireless devices received a stronger signal

We bought this so we didn't have to rent Xfinity equipment. The people at Xfinity told us we could just set this up ourselves. After 3 hours of trying to get this working my husband called only to find out that you had to call to get it working. We had to wait several days to have our number ported before trying the telephone part. Again, it was 2 hours on the phone with 3 different tech support people at which time they screwed up the settings on the modem that nothing was working.They finally scheduled a tech to come out. The tech messed with it and finally said he needed to make a call. He claims that Xfinity screwed something up with the account and that is why it wasn't working. The phone part started to work finally. The tech left my house telling me that the internet part seemed to be cutting out now and he wasn't sure why. I was told to reset the modem back to factory settings and start all over if there was any further issues. If that didn't work I should return the modem, because it was probably faulty. We didn't have to go back to factory settings or return the modem. All seems okay for now. We have had it fully functioning for a couple weeks now. Modem issue or Xfinity problem, not sure, that's why it gets an average review. As far as I know there aren't any other options for a modem if you are also doing phone.

My, mostly Apple product, family experienced very little connectivity with this router. We were hoping that it would extend and confer an even stronger signal. Not to be. Frustrations with our printer 'dialoguing' consistently. Had to re-input router password every time printer was turned on. I believe it would be a very good product for the right technology. Just not ours.

Needed this product for phone service using Comcast internet voice service

This is the only modem I found that did not give me problems. Easy to set up with Xfinity in a few calls.

Upgraded my modem from a motorola surfboard so that I could take advantage of my home phone services with Comcast. I noticed a huge internet speed boost after I purchased this modem. Really pleased with the purchase overall.

Why pay a monthly charge. It pays for itself over time

I would recommend the Xfinity Gateway, wish it were a bit smaller.

works exactly same as comcast router . no rent . it pays it self within a year. you can use it with rcn (boston area) and comcast . if you have more than 1500 sqft house , you need to buy wifi extender or night hawk router.
