Save the rental $

You need this model if you have Triple Play with phone service. I was warned of the poor wireless performance, so I also purchase a wireless router. Everything seems to be working fine!

Beats lease over time

When I switched from another internet provider to Comcast was given the option of leasing from them or buying my own modem. The Comcast installer set it up and it has worked great. I have it networked with an Apple Airport and the WiFi signal is good anywhere in my house with the help from the Airport. Without the network though the signal is weak in parts of the house.

not strong enough

If it was only for internet it was fine. I had to rent the one from Comcast which is a different model with a stronger signal
