Buy This Don't Rent It!

I've been paying $10/month rent to Comcast for years for this item and in 20 months I'll "take the money to the bank"! Note - if you have Comcast install it, there is a charge. So install it yourself and if you have any questions the Arris company is quick to access and very helpful.

Works as well as the smc unit I had and took about 1 hour to setup with phone support as I also have the phone package. Rep tried to talk me out of it as the new unit looks twice as large is supposed to be better. I did ask about if the new units would provide a hot spot out of my home. He said yes and I said no and I now own my modem.

Just what I wanted

I have my desktop and landline phone system hardwired to it, and it provides built-in WIFI for my home. Because all these functions are in one component, I have eliminated future communication problems between a modem and router. My ownership of it eliminates the rental fees I was paying to Comcast.
