I got this modem with router so I wouldn't have to pay rental fee to Comcast. This modem also has a built in router and has outlets for cable, phone in addition to the internet outlets. I have only had it for a little over one month and so far it works well.

Works as good as the Comcast rental but at 200 bucks has to last 21 months to pay for itself. Will know more in 20 months.

Purchased this modem to escape years of rental fees from Comcast; there is no competition available as this is THE ONLY 'approved' one for Comcast/Xfinity internet & landline phone service. So, though the unit seems to be working just fine, it is far overpriced from other models that do the same thing but are not acceptable/compatible with Comcast/Xfinity. Even so, it will still pay for itself with the reduction in cost from my previous provider in less than a year.

Purchased to avoid Comcast monthly rental for their modem. My monthly savings will start next summer for what I would have paid in rental fees. This is in fact a Comcast modem & works fine with all aspects of Comcast Xfinity services. There are other modems, cheaper, that will also work with Comcast however this is the only one that also has Telephony that I require.

Can't believe comcast thinks they can get away with charging people 10 bucks a month to rent one of these. This is the same model as you would get from Comcast and works fine.

It is easy to install and connect with other devices. Need to call Comcast to activate it. The cost is relative high compare to others, but there is no other product that Comcast supports and fit my needs.

Called Comcast and an hour and a half later they finally got it working correctly. Disappointed that the back up battery was not included, otherwise I would have given 4 stars. I am using my own router because I had trouble with the same Arris product that Comcast now charges $10 a month for.

Decided I was fed up with rental fees from Comcast, this is a phone and modem combined. Took a little bit to setup and I use it in the bridged mode so that I can use my existing router and wifi.

The broadband speeds are very good and the phone works fine. However, the WiFi transfer rate is much lower than the previous rental router from Xfinity located in the same location. I had no problems with my laptop and tablet before, but now websites will not load from even closer to the router. I added another WiFi router to get better coverage. Still better than renting a modem.

This is the only router my local Best Buy store carried that is compatible with Xfinity Internet/Voice through Comcast who is the only provider in this area. My package included an internet speed of 150 Mbps, and Comcast increased the speed to 200 Mbps at no cost to me so that this router would work, since it is an Infinity item. I like the option of having a battery backup for phone calls even during power outages (sold separately by Comcast for $35.00), since I do phone work out of my home. The instructions in the user guide to set it up are very clear, I just wish I would have read them, but instead paid Comcast $59.99 to do the install and set everything up. The router works great in the room it is set up in, unfortunately, the Comcast Tech set it up in the basement office, near a window, with a wall separating it from the other parts of the house and swore the signal would be strong throughout the house when really this is the only room that gets a signal. I don't blame the product for that though. The router offers the ability to connect four different devices with speeds up to 300 Mbps which frees up Wi-Fi bandwitdth, but that is no help to the others in the house who are on the floor above. If it were installed in a central location, my family could enjoy fast surfing via Wi-Fi.
I do like the fact that I can be online and on the phone at the same time and it is has ports for two phone lines if I ever wanted to add a second. It is sleek, lightweight and does not take up much space. It comes with a six foot power cord, which is helpful.

This unit has all the same functions as the original equipment, and I am saving $10 a month on my Comcast bill. The set up was easy and the pass through to my Apple Wi Fi did not even have to redone. Of course, this means that the Apple server is actually supplying the WI Fi instead of the Arris, so I can't confirm the range or speed of that.

I had to buy a modem/wifi for my Xfinity internet (or pay them $10 a month rent). I figured I'd use it for at least 2 years, so I would save myself some money. The Xfinity tech installed it for me. It works well.

Had to upgrade to this unit when signing up for Comcast Voice as part of triple play bundle deal. It replaced a four+ year old Motorola modem and separate Linksys router which were working fine, but did not accept voice. The new Arris Touchstone was easy to install and, so far, is performing without any issues. I do not notice any increase in internet performance speeds, but I don't seem to have as many interruptions when using iPads and phones as I did with the old router. Also, I had read review from others complaining that the Wi-Fi range of the Arris was terrible. In fact, we have our unit installed in the corner of a second floor bedroom, and we receive great service throughout the house including the basement and outdoor areas. No complaints with range. Also, nice to have a single device replacing two devices.
