Zootopia turned out to be one of my favorite films of the year. The story is great, pacing is quick, the animation is absolutely top notch and the characters are enjoyable with fantastic voice acting. It's a really funny movie, but has a good share of animated action, a mystery to solve, and character depth. Judy Hopps is the first bunny to make it on the police force in the city. Relegated to meter maid duty, she is unassumingly pulled into playing a part in Nick Wilde's, a con-fox, con. When a missing person (or missing otter) case falls in her lap, she uses what she knows about Nick's scheme to get his help solving the case. What they find sends shockwaves through the city, the police force and all the way up to City Hall! This is definitely a charming and fun movie and kids will love it, but as a 35+ adult, I found myself feeling like a kid in the theater myself all over again.

I enjoyed this movie a lot, as with most Pixar animations. Watch a trailer of the film to see if you'd like it too. As for the SteelBook aspect (as compared to other releases), the SteelBook is a great value when you can catch it on sale. The SteelBook comes with the 4k UDH Blu-ray, which has a great picture, but also comes with a 1080p Blu-ray for older devices. Best of all, this includes a digital copy that you can register with your services like Vudu, Movies Anywhere, and Apple Movies (previously iTunes). The digital copy is in 4k where available, so it is a great option if you do not have a 4k UHD Blu-ray player, but do have a 4k streaming device, like AppleTV, Roku, or Amazon Fire Stick.

This is a great family movie with some great humor. I love Flash!

I should start by saying I'm a grown man (33) with no kids. I appreciate a wide variety of movies and love Disney/Pixar and Dreamworks's animated movies. That being said, this is a great movie for kids and adults alike. The humor is smart and there are some good jokes there for adults that don't take away from it being family friendly. The voice acting and animation is superb. As for the movie itself, it's starts as a simple story of trying to achieve your goals, no matter what stereotypes or preconceived notions society has placed on you. It's about confronting prejudices and learning to accept people at face value rather than judging people you don't even know. And this is a kids movie! But it's a fantastic commentary on racism and sexism without ever mentioning either. I'm sure like many of us you were taught to never judge a book by its cover and to treat people as you would like to be treated. This movie speaks to getting back to that.
