A Simple Favor - DVD

Good movie plot something I haven’t seen before and the actors are really good.

Lionsgate has done a great job with this release of A Simple Favor on 4K Blu-ray. The video quality looks great, and even a little better with Dolby Vision if your TV or player supports it, bringing a nice clean image with realistic colors and detail, very identical to the theatrical presentation. The audio is a high quality Dolby TrueHD soundtrack that fits perfectly for a movie like this, which is carried by mostly dialogue. There's a bit of surround sound activity as well, so if you have a good surround sound system, this will sound great. Packaging includes a digital code for those looking to stream while away from home, along with a Blu-ray disc that includes basically the same movie and special features as the 4K UHD disc. I think they should have included way more special featurettes on the Blu-ray disc(s), but Lionsgate did a good job regardless. If you're a fan of Anna Kendrick and/or Blake Lively in general, you should enjoy this film and add it to your movie collection.

A Simple Favor is a compelling mystery that is both entertaining and suspenseful. The strong performances, twisty plot, and quirky humor make it a film that will keep you on the edge of your seat. While it may not be perfect, it's a fun and engaging ride that is worth watching.

As an audio and videophile, I plan to purchase a lot more 4K Blu-rays now that Netflix has ended service, and have already begun doing so. The quality is simply better, and the market is there. Best Buy will miss out on this business.

So the trailers I feel didn't do this movie justice. The story actually is very well done. Its one of the better modern mystery movies and is a fun little romp through a mystery. I would suggest picking this up if you haven't already and watch it. Its fun, entertaining, and full of great acting on everyone's parts.
