The 1315U CPU has two performance cores capable of turbo boost to 4.5 GHz and four efficiency course with a total of eight threads. The built-in GPU has 64. EU. The USB C ports are capable of display port. Alt mode using a USB-C to display port 1.4 cable.. these three specific parameters allow me to connect a Samsung 27 inch 2K monitor at 120 Hz. This is the only CPU in the Budget Chromebook plus class that can run a 2K monitor at 120 Hz . Because of the abundance of ports. I was able to converted into a complete desktop replacement in clamshell mode.. I use one USB. A port for a wireless mouse and keyboard combination.. I use another USB A port for a razor siren microphone so I can speak to the computer using Google documents or artificial intelligence Gemini or ChatGPT or pretty much anything as incredibly good microphone. I’m too lazy to type. The keyboard is purely for corrections and Shortcuts. One USB C port has to be used for power full-time because it is always plugged in on my desk in the closed position with the hinges up and vents free to breathe. The other USB C port is used for the USB-C to display port 1.4 cable connected to the monitor and since that used up all of the USB ports because I wanted a microphone. I decided to buy the original pebble version one speakers and plug in the 3.5 mm jack to the chrome book and was able to find a quality surge protector that had USB reports on top so I was able to power the speakers using the included USB A cable via the surge protector tap. The only thing I don’t have is a printer or all-in-one laser unit. I have very little need for printing so I can just send it to the UPS store near my job or the library if I need color printing $.15 a page either way. They only put not used was the HDMI because it’s only 1.4 and worthless unless you want to connect 1080 P 60 Hz monitor. The 16 inch size is perfect for clamshell because it has enough space for this CPU that runs a little hot because of the two turbo performance cores at 55 W when they’re being pushed. So that size allows for thermal efficiency that are smaller size wouldn’t allow for even with a fan which is included with this model as well. It’s basically as if it’s been perfectly designed to be used as a desktop replacement in clamshell mode I never have to open it I can lock it when I’m done using it. When an arrow comes up on the bottom right near the clock that indicates it needs to be updated. I just go to that area where the clock is, which is the same place where I can lock it just like a regular computer and hit restart restart process updates the computer and whether it’s waking it up from sleep mode after locking it or accessing it from a restart all I have to do is plug in my six digit security code, which is what I used during setup. Has such I never have to touch the computer at all. I purely interact with the microphone, the speakers, the keyboard and mouse and the monitor once it’s all set up that’ll work indefinitely unless you have to shut it down for some reason in which case then you do need to open up the clamshell to start up. But shut down is not necessary using lock mode which automatically will go into sleep mode and all you have to do is touch any key or the mouse to wake it up or restarting and putting in your six digit code is all it’s necessary for the computer to run indefinitely and still update. FYI, all Intel.N chips have no more than 32EU which is only enough to run a 1080 P monitor at 60 Hz to be able to run my Samsung 2K monitor at 120 Hz you need to step up to a more expensive CPU. And also find a manufacturer that doesn’t firmware inhibit the use of display port. Alt mode which many do.. I bought everything new from Best Buy except the monitor which was an open box in perfect condition. My total spend because it was below $600 and Google guarantees system updates and security updates through June 2033 seven years from when I bought it. I didn’t know all this going in. I thought I was gonna have to hook it up to my old monitor but when I realized the specs of the CPU I decided might as well go for a 2K 120 Hz monitor and it looks dramatically better than an old monitor or even a new monitor at 1080 P 60 Hz. Anyone that’s gotten to this point should consider trying to pick this up when it’s on sale as long as you don’t need Windows programs or apples programs that serves most people’s basic computing needs being able to create emails create documents, interact with artificial intelligence and with a microphone to everything with speech to text. By the way, ChatGPT has the best speech to text currently called whisper don’t set it up as app.

I only need this for basic tasks and I am very pleased Some mentioned the 10 key was too small and it is smaller, but definitely functional for casual use

I am not a finance professional, but I bought this Acer Chromebook Plus for my bookkeeping. I just realized that the numeric keypad is not a standard layout; the plus and minus signs are so small that I can't use them efficiently for calculations. Furthermore, I have another brand of Chromebook that has much faster processing speeds, even though it has the same specifications as this one. I regret buying from Best Buy because they only have a 14-day return period, whereas most other retailers offer 30 days. I didn't pay close attention to that policy. To make matters worse, I tried calling customer service, but I was stuck with an AI that hung up on me three or four times. This has been a very bad experience with both the product and the store.

ACER Chromebook plus opened just today. Screen is big and keyboard is comfy. Best Buy wrongly marketing 12 months Google AI pro offer as when i went to site google.com/intl/en_us/chromebook/perks/. it gave me product not eligible. Geek Squad this is not good experience.

This is my first Chromebook purchase experience and I am very satisfied. After years of hassle with my father and windows machines, I turned to Chromebook! My father somehow manages to destroy every windows machine he touches. He always clicks on 'something' and invites malware or installs annoying extensions to edge. I always have to maintain his machine and it is very annoying. I fixed on a Chromebook Plus for the speed and power compared to a regular chromebook. This Acer meets my standards. The Intel i3 processor is fast enough and 8GB memory is snappy. I'm fine with the plastic; I don't like it but that's why I'm paying so much less for the chromebook. The setup was easy for my father. He basically browses the web, goes on Youtube and checks his financials. Now I don't have to worry so much about malware because this Chromebook is basically locked down. The 16" display is crisp and large, but I have connected via HDMI to a larger 24" monitor. This ACER Chromebook Plus is an excellent value. The performance is still quick and my father hasn't crashed it yet. Two thumbs up!

The best laptop I've own so far. Processor is quick and key functions are simple. No guessing needed. Long battery life, able to work without interrupting my projects to frantically look for a charger, this laptop lasts days without charging! The size of the screen is also a plus! I often don't work with my reading glasses, visibility is on point and lastly the speaker potential/volume is great as well.

I have owned Chromebooks for many years but this is the best one so far. I love how large the screen is and how fast it processes. I use it for banking, general household books, online shopping and playing some games. I am 73 and Chromebook is by far the easiest operating system I have ever used. This is my second Acer and I have had no trouble with it. I would recommend this laptop to anyone that needs a good, reliable laptop that doesn't cost a small fortune.

Just got my Chromebook Plus and honestly, I’m impressed. Super light, fast, and the battery lasts all day. The screen looks really good for videos and work, and I love how quick it boots up. Perfect for browsing, streaming, and everyday stuff. Only downside is you can’t run heavy programs like Windows apps, but for school, work, or chilling online, it does the job really well. Definitely worth it.

My old chromebook has not been supported for over a year. I read that this makes it susceptable. So I bought this Acer for myself for Christmas, I do a lot of databasing with Google Sheets, On the Acer, the menu does not appear. The keyboard shortcut does not make it show either. I have to keep restarting the Acer, and eventually it shows up. It is unusable without the menu. It does seem to be doing a bit better the more I use it, but I was ready to return it at first. Both Chrome and Sheets are Google products. So come on, Google, get your act together! It gave me some message about Sheets not working well on this modeI: no kidding! I also miss having a touch screen. And the keys are not backlit. But it does have a nice big screen. Will I keep it? I’m not sure. The pre-Christmas sales are over. Sigh…….

Love the big screen and every aspect of this Chromebook is astounding! However the battery only seems to last about 3-4 hours which is enough to last a school day but not without charging it every night to 100%. Great product, I would recommend but be cautious of the battery life on this Chromebook.

Great so far. Very fast loading pages. Much better than a standard Chromebook. If you already like Chromebooks you will Love this one. Good display. Has more new tricks than I will ever use. Loads up new android apps very fast. The battery life is OK unless you are heavily gaming. If I blaze thru a lot of levels on Candy Crush I will have to recharge in about 90 minutes. For regular web surfing the battery will go a couple days. Plays videos nicely. If you have fast internet you will rarely see the loading circle. Sound is typical for a laptop. Has a little fan that runs sometimes. Can barely hear it. So far it does everything I need in a laptop. NO buyers regret. If you can get one on sale, Go for it!

Processing speed was exactly what we were looking for in a lower priced Chromebook. The screen size is great and picture quality is first rate.

This Chromebook is awesome and super easy to use. The 16" screen looks great, everything loads fast, and it’s perfect for browsing, streaming, and work. I really like the clean Steel Gray look, and it feels solid without being too heavy. Battery life has been good so far, and Wi‑Fi 6E keeps things quick and stable. Overall, it’s exactly what I wanted and I’m very happy with this purchase.

I have been using laptops for years, and really don't want to go back to anything else. This one is working beautifully, no glitches, no confusion on my part with its use, the 16" display is perfect, it's simply quite easy to use, fast, so far, I've had no problems, I'm happy with it. It's hard to review something that does what I want, works well, has no problems at all. It's a very nice laptop.

My son is not given a device from his school and this Acer Chromebook seems to be the perfect fit for him. He was able to easily set it up and access his school account and has completed all his summer work. He was also able to access his favorite games while I was still able to set up parental controls. He likes the screen size for gaming and it connected easily to his personal keyboard. So far so good.
