About this product
On their debut full-length, this NY-based quintet have demonstrated their penchant for the electro organic; seamlessly blending the sharp and gentle, like a chain gang draped in organza. Think Can or Faust all mashed up with the personal disco of Arthur Russell. Think of the electric organ of Terry Riley's InchShri CamelInch, slowly morphing and perpetually in motion, but remaining in step with a guitar-less and Moroder-charged Sparks. And think of a more composed Dead C, where Michael Morley sings about Big Thunder Mountain while holding a beach ball in one hand and fending off the digital shards of musique concrete humming around his ears with the other. Album Tracks 1. Komad 2. Rainbows 3. Milan 4. Scotty 5. Sheath-Wet 6. Vesna

Years after it's initial on boutique Brooklyn tag Orchid Tapes, Alex G's fourth LP DSU has been reissued on Run For Cover Records. Considered by many to be the record that shone a spotlight onto the longtime lo-fi Bandcamp-favorite, DSU is an indie rock record empowered & enlightened by Alex Giannascoli's bedroom-pop sensibilities. An acronym for InchDream State University,Inch DSU's thirteen songs consistently reinvent indie-pop in a way that truly makes the album dream-like, not only because of the serene calmness of tracks like InchSkipperInch & InchBoy,Inch but also in the hauntingly jarring mid-album number InchAxesteelInch & the kinetic swelling & pitch-shifting InchIcehead.Inch What DSU offers as a whole is a collection of songs that endlessly bend existing indie-rock tropes with Alex G's sincere strand of otherness, presenting an early but ambitious portrait of one of the next great songwriters of our time.
