A: The cable is 6ft long.
Q: Can the lights on the in-line controls be turned off?
A: No, they are always on when the headset is plugged in. There is an extra red LED that illuminates under the bright blue LEDs when the Microphone is muted, but it isn't easy to see and the bright blue LEDs on the control box make it harder to see what each of the black buttons actually are for.
Q: I work from home are these good for that
A: Yes, I also work from home and use these with no problem.
Q: Do these have a mute option
A: Yes, there is a mute function.
Q: Will these work with a Xbox
A: No.
Q: I cannot get these to unmute/ am i going to have to return them
A: Try using a different app to see if the same issue occurs. If it does it has a defective mute button.
A: This headphone has a slight noise cancelling effect. If you are trying to block out a significant amount of outside noise this is probably not the headphone for you.

Good buy at $5
I have been using it for a year now as my daily headphone. it has held up well over the year. The sound is clear enough for daily meetings and the connection for both the earmuffs have been solid.

Aluratek wired headset w bright LEDs and low mic..
Pros: - They were on sale $8 off - Ear pads are comfortable. - Like other wired headsets, they don't need charging or dealing with wireless interference, pairing, etc. - Packaging was easy to open and use right away. - Mic boom is partially flexible. Cons: - Microphone volume very low with no means to adjust it. People complain the voice sounds hollow, lacking clarity and difficult to understand. - Speaker goes from very loud to muted with no good range. - There are bright blue LEDs that serve no purpose. These are distracting and makes the actual buttons harder to read. I have to put it face down to avoid eye strain. - The headband has no padding, and the size seems to be for a smaller round shaped head, so they don't quite fit for me. - The microphone placement is a little short, so the boom stops in my cheek not reaching the corner of my mouth. Though it flexes and rotates up and down, the angle of the headband is engineered for the mic to be on your left. - Windows drivers give it a generic name Overall just not happy with these. I will try to return for credit and get another brand, as the original packaging was already recycled by the efficient gnomes who work for me...
