I purchased the Apple AirPort Extreme (WiFi) Router 5 years ago and I have never had an issue with it. I based my experienced from the last AirPort Extreme WiFi Router and was very happy with the product. It was recommended that I purchased the AirPort Extreme WiFi Router because we had multiples Apple electronics devices ([5] iPods; [2] IPads and [3] Laptops). The AirPort Extreme price was a bit higher than the other WiFi but I'm not a computer genius and to plug and go. I'm all for making my life simple. I felt like a genius for purchasing the item. :D

Easy setup, great range with fast speeds. Perfect for the Apple ecosystem! Sold my onhub router for this!

I purchased this router as an upgrade from a D-Link Xtreme Gigabit (DIR655). After purchasing a 2014 iMac I wanted a router that could feed it as quickly as possible. Router set up is as easy as it gets, although you give up some of the controls other routers in this price range offer. Range covers my 2000ish sqft home extremely well. One of my other favorite things about the Airport extreme is the way it looks. It's not so much that I care, but my wife doesn't complain about how ugly it looks sitting out in the open. So far there have been no bandwidth distribution issue. Often there are 3 users streaming Netflix simultaneously. I would definitely recommend this router to those looking for an easy upgrade from a G or N router model.

Very reliable compete to other routers I have used befor. User friendly GUE

I've owned different routers: LinkSys, Net Gear and Cisco. None of them compare to the Airport Extreme. Entire family have apple products and where they had weak or no signal at all, now they have an incredibly strong signal, even outside on the driveway. My Note 4 also has gotten better WiFi. Aee attached pic I would not only recommend it to a friend but to all people who are in the market for a really awesome router. You will not regret it.

If you need a reliable router to get connected with your device, specially if there are a mac family think no more: this is it! I use at home and the signal reach every room.

Purchased to hopefully gain better performance out of my Uverse service. Been using for two months with NO speed or performance issues! Be advised: if you are a Mac owner, save money by purchasing the time capsule for backups, as it is a router too.-a very costly mistake on my behalf!

Apple does a great quality of product, I hope the cost will be a little bit less for the future.

Whether you're a Mac or Windows user, this Apple Extreme router is THE ONE to get. Just connect it to your modem with an ethernet cable and your Wi-Fi is set automatically and instantly. No WPS connectivity required. With a modem and Apple Extreme router in my basement (the absolutely worst place to locate these devices) the Wi-Fi signal carries to the upstairs in my 3,600 sq. ft. house -- far better than the Wi-Fi router in my Xfinity gateway modem. So I turned off Wi-Fi on the modem and let the Extreme do the work. I highly recommend this router.

After having used an older Airport Extreme Base Station (flat model) for several years, I found that it was unable to keep up with the new high speed Internet I recently switched to (200 MB). So, I got this newer model, and it works like a dream. Bear in mind, though, that in April 2018 Apple decided to discontinue its WiFi routers. So, this is the last of the line ... unless the company decides in the future to bring them back. But, I figure in the meantime, I’ll be good to go for a couple of years with this one. (In the picture you will see that I have it inside a cabinet behind the TV, yet I am able to pick up WiFi beautifully throughout my small house.)

Works perfect with my iMac, I have 1 gb service into my house via fiber. Without a router directly wired to my computer the speed is about 970 gb/s. Going through the router the speed is 900 mb/s down and 230 mb/s up. So the router does slow it down some. Wireless is giving me about 300 mb/s as that is the speed limitation of wireless technology even though Apple states that it is 1 gb/s wireless. Very pleased and have another that extends my network in the attic without having to switch rulers on my wireless devices.

This is a great product and very easy to install. I also don't have to install a lot of cables or have a headache again very good product!

Beside having a very nice appearance, it doesn't get any easier to set up this Apple AirPort Extreme router

Searching for a wifi router that would not fail. Used a few prior and even used the one that came with the web service provider. No good. But then Apple came to my rescue with this router that allows me to use for Apple TV, mini, iPads, I touch and game system for kids. GREAT PRODUCT. Highly recommend it. Could have used one with some external memory. Maybe next time.

The is a good product, faster streaming and stable that the Internet does not drop off while online. Make sure the modem is also new when you upgrade to the apple extreme or else, you might have to reset both modem and wifi router to get connected back online.

Best for Apple device. Connection fast. But the bad news is still hit the dead spot. I used in my bed room even full bar but not or slow open the web page, you tube keep buffering.

It was a breeze to setup the router, it took less than 5mins on my phone to setup and start working. We have a 2000sft house and router is situated in corner of the house and my home office is on the opposite corner, still got 100mbps out of 120mbps connection. I would recommend it anyone who is looking for a reliable WiFi connections, I have been using it over a month now without any issues and not a single drop connections and I have more than 10 devices connected at any given time without any issue.

I'm a Mac consultant by trade and have been since 1992. The AirPort Extremes just keep getting better. Better antennas in each iteration give a stronger signal. They're intelligent as the AirPort will flag when there is an Internet connection problem automatically on your Mac if you used it to configure the AirPorts. Firmware updates are easy; the app will post a badge when there's an update or an issue. The app will also inform you if there is double NAT for example; the light on the front of the unit will flash yellow. (Putting the AirPort in "bridge mode" will resolve this issue. I still plug Google's DNS numbers, 8.8.8.8, in the DNS setup. The app works pretty well for configuration but not 100% of the time. Sometimes, I'll have to do a reset and configure the Extreme manually. That and only 3 Ethernet points gets dinged a star. It's convenient to use an IPhone or iPad the Apple app to login onsite to see how the WiFi network is configured. One can also run the updates directly from an iOS device. I haven't figured out why there's inconsistency within the app when reporting what devices are connected. Sometimes, it will give me the shared name of a device like "Bob's iMac" and other times it will only give me the MAC number which is not exactly useless, it's a pain to go around to different devices to find out what the MAC number is. Especially if it's something like an HTC cellphone. The newer AirPort no longer has an external power supply, so there's no longer that big lump of plastic inline. It makes it easier to fish the power cable behind a desk unencumbered. They are pricey but I only put in AirPort Extremes as they seem to last longer and I had too many callbacks with the cheap $60 WiFi routers that die in three years and are harder to configure. I admire the shape. Very clean and elegant. They've gone to a tower style and it looks like it has cooling via convection compared with the old, flat AirPorts.

I have had plenty of WiFi Routers in my day and even had previous generation Airport Extremes and this one is by far the fastest one with extreme range. The house I live in is two stories but very long and bunch of walls. I actually have 2 of these running right now one on each side of the house. I was amazed that I could extend my network and that these would connect to each other in range. To my surprise I even get the 5ghz AC signal at full bars and I typically get about 50-70 Mbps data speeds. And I NEVER have slow internet. I also added a Airport express right next to the outside so we can get faster wifi out back by the pool or around the house. The setup is amazingly simple much more so than the other belkins, linkseys, or net gear routers I've had. All you need to do is download Apples Airport Utility. Compared to other routers out there this one is a little more pricy but in my opinion it is worth every penny. If you are an Apple junkie like myself. Than this is the router for you. In smaller homes 1 of these routers is plenty to receive the internet speeds you are looking for. The 6 antennas in this thing make it a tech junkies best friend and I will continue buying Apple products until I no longer can
