Q: How long does the battery life last until it needs to be charged again?
A: my arlo cameras have been running for about 1 month and are around 50-70% battery remaining. 2 months would be reasonable before needing a recharge. FYI you need a paid monthly subscription to view any recorded videos. without it you can only play live video w/o saving.
A: This camera only allows live video without a paid subscription. Older cameras still offer old video footage for up to 7 days for free. I have 2 Arlo Pros and 2 Arlo Pro 2s that I have used for over 5 years. They still offer the short term free storage. The Essential and Ess 2 do not and the Subx is about $15/month. I installed the set of 4 Essential cameras and found out after. I reinstalled the older Pros.
Q: Does Arlo Essential camera requrie a base station?
A: No, the Arlo Essential 2 Outdoor Camera does not require a base station and can connect directly to any 2.4 GHz WIFI connection.
A: There is no subscription needed to monitor the cameras but you need a subscription in order to cloud save and review past recorded moments. These cameras do NOT have an SD card slot so there is NO way to save recorded moments yourself without the cloud storage. Hope this helps!
Q: Do these cameras work with the screw mounts?
A: Yes. Once you attach the camera to it you can adjust the angle of it
Q: Do I need to buy a separate Arlo hub to use these with HomeKit?
A: Arlo SmartHubs/Base Stations, and Apple HomeKit are not currently compatible with the Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera (2nd Generation) at launch. We expect Base Station/SmartHub and Apple HomeKit support to be made available in a future firmware release.

A: Yes, you can view it on your computer or laptop by logging in to the Arlo Dashboard on the Arlo website.

Arlo outdoor camera set
This product was exactly like the picture! It came with 4 cameras and a charging plug for the cameras. I really love that it also came with the screws needed to set up as well as clear instructions on how to install the cameras. I have installed one at my front door and will install the rest in the backyard and garage. I love that all 4 cameras come together because I can make sure my entire house is secured from all angles. I do wish that the cameras came fully charged but I will say that to charge them full battery did not take long. For the size of the cameras they do so much and you can control it all from your phone which I absolutely love! Overall 10/10 product.

Camera meets all stated specifications and picture quality. Only negative is the battery is not accessible for recharging. Special cord is required

Arlo cameras
Great video quality which is what I was looking for. Downside are subscription costs but that’s almost all wireless cameras. Another down side is the fact I need to charge the cameras when they finally die. I don’t like the thought of taking them down to charge leaving my family vulnerable for the time of charging. Opposed to a traditional battery where I could pop it out and pop new one in losing the cameras for a matter of seconds.
