I recently purchased the ASUS TUF GAMING X870-PLUS WIFI for my new AMD AM5 build, and I am extremely satisfied with its performance. Installation was straightforward, the BIOS was easy to navigate, and the board recognized all of my hardware without any issues. The build quality is outstanding, with a solid VRM design, quality heatsinks, and the durability that the TUF series is known for. It supports the latest AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors, DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0, and Wi-Fi 7, making it a great choice for anyone looking to build a high-performance gaming or productivity system.

Looks slick and run great. I use the WiFi sometimes and my router is across the house and it picks it up just fine. Overclocking is simple.

It has a great asterisk to it and runs great. Plenty of room for storage and not covered in rgb. That’s one thing I love most about it. But for performance it’s great I haven’t run into an issue easy to get the drivers and asus has never let me down.

Great Value for the price. Motherboard has nice features and is a good layout. I like the fan headers spread out thru the board it makes connecting fans easier. Also board has been running rock solid with 9800x3d and gskill 6000 ddr5 memory. Tuf branding I'm not the biggest fan of but the location of the letters doesn't Show in my PC Build

So before I bought this motherboard I had problems with a previous one. This ASUS TUF X870 change my pc in the best way possible. Very thankful it had no problems on boot up and a very clean aesthetic. Thank you ASUS. Absolutely worth the money.

Inspired by the results, I couldn't resist the urge to share the joy of building with others, so I ordered four additional ASUS TUF motherboards. With these, I set out to craft impressive gaming and workstation PCs for my friends and family, turning their dreams of high-performance computing into a reality.

This board is amazing ,its supper user friendly with things like the q latch for the graphics card and easy acces to the m.2 drive locations , also its pretty clean looking with the built in rgb lighting and heat shields on everything, this was the first pc ive built and i feel like this mother board made it extremely easy they had great instruction with it and also included some goodies like stickers, sata cables, even a antanna for tbe wifi 7, really great purchase 10 out of 10 i wouod recomend anybody this motherboard

Great am5 motherboard, has rgb on the back that can be seen from the lower right front. Plenty of nvme slots and fan ports

Asus motherboard is fast has alot of features and supports am5 which is my chipset

Nothing says TUF like a box full of rainbows, this Asus motherboard is about all you're going to need to make sure the X3D is operational and everything on your system is stable. Great company with exceptional help support also!

Great preforming motherboard. Upgrade from my B650m

Put this motherboard in my new PC build. Been running strong for the last two weeks so far so good and I’m super happy with the feature set.

Very easy to install, feels very well built. The built-in AI overclocking is an amazing feature. It is a one click feature. You may not get as much overclocking as you would manually overclocking, but if you’re very unfamiliar with overclocking, it will get you most of the way there.

Feels well built and it gives a sence of premium to your pc, the wifi antenna will not work until you install drivers so consider that when assembling

For those still reliant on SATA-based drives, it’s worth noting this limitation before finalizing a build. The only potential drawback is the bulk of the VRM and M.2 heatsinks, which can create cramped conditions in tighter cases or when using oversized GPUs. In the end, this board feels like a well-rounded choice for a long-term build. Its flexible memory options, forward-leaning storage setup, and user-friendly installation features all contribute to a motherboard that’s prepared for modern computing demands. Just keep in mind the limited SATA ports and make sure there’s enough space in your case to comfortably accommodate its more substantial heatsinks.

This replaces the “x670 boards”. Main things you get over the previous boards is USB-4 comes stock on all boards. More support for Gen 5 speeds. But is still VERY limited with a bunch of asterisks. So, before buying make sure to read the fine print. Overall, it’s a good board. Maybe even a great board. But the SSD limitation is a big one for me. Along with just the crazy cost. Motherboards have gotten too expensive. WHAT I LIKE: - Supports USB 3.0 PD. - 2x USB 4 (USB-C) 40 Gbps) ports. - IO Ports are solid. IO is good. Clear labeling. 4x USB “5G”, x3 10G USB x3, 2x USB-C 40 GB that supports display port and power delivery, 1x 2.0 which also works as bios, 2.5 GB wired port, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4. BIOS flashback button. - 2.5 Gb ethernet port. - BIOS flashback button - Wi-Fi 7 instead of screw in plugs in and has a tower for better speeds (hopefully). - Large heatsinks - Easy to release graphics card slot. Great feature. - Overclockable for both CPU and RAM. Max 128 GB RAM and 8000 RAM speed. - LED lights for trouble shooting - Everything on the board is clearly labeled. - Most headers are on the bottom of the board allowing for easier cable management. Also, a bunch of fan and RGB headers. Making building easier. But no legacy headers for RGB. - 16+2+1 power deliver design. - Supports 7000, 8000, and 9000 series AMD CPU’s. WHAT I DISLIKE: - TUF branding is excessive. But some may really like that. - 4 NVME SSD ports. 2x Gen 5 and 2x Gen 4 with quick release latches and 3 of the 4 have heat sinks built in (with thermal pads attached). All those are good. HOWEVER, 2nd gen 5 slot cuts main graphics card slot from x16 to x8. And if you plug one into the 4th SSD slot (gen 4) it disables the second PCIe Slot. Um what? At $309? What? On top of only having two sata ports for old school SSD/HDD’s. - SPDIF is missing for onboard audio. Which many still use for sound systems. - Computer costs are out of control. This is incredibly expensive. Performance is essentially the same as X670 boards except for Wi-Fi 7 (which is big if you have Wi-Fi 7) and USB-4 (which many may not care about).
