I upgraded from a Velocity hotspot to the Netgear Nighthawk. I purchased it outright and was not sorry one bit. Max download speed with Velocity was 45 mbps. With this hotspot, in the same location, same time of day...max download speed was 128mbps. This was on a congested tower. I’ve also taken this to where the Velocity has little to no service and I’ve noticed much higher service with no dead spots. Without a doubt, everyone should have one of these. It has all of AT&T’s bands and is ahead of it’s time.

I purchased my first Nighthawk M1 when they came out in October of 2017, with the rumors that At&t would no longer allow you to add this to your unlimited plan I decided I would grab another. I've found that most of the negative reviews have been from people that must not have figured out how to use all the features. If you don't download the app and go through all the settings you're missing out. The default setting for WiFi is short range that times out after 15 minutes of no activity. These can be changed to long range and to never time out. There are two things that Netgear could improve however. 1) Include a charger that is capable of powering the unit with the battery out. As it is you need to purchase a Quick Charge 2.0 compatible charger to remove the battery and leave it plugged in, I can't believe this is not included. 2) Currently the software does not allow you to prevent the Ethernet jack from going to sleep. I hope this is something that is changed in a software update. Despite these couple of things I think this is a fantastic hotspot that should be anyone's first choice if they are in the market for one.

This Hotspot Router is actually what it advertised as. The device is built well, not flimsy. What I really like about it is the use of the Ethernet port, now I can connect it to a switch and make a truly portable network.

This thing is a beast. I’ve never owned a hotspot this fast. Simple to setup and runs Xbox gaming, streaming 4K, etc with no drops in service while maintaining high speeds. Worth every single penny and more.

I purchased to test with Cricket Wireless. Bought a new SIM card and put it right in the device. Recognized the cricket service and started working. I know cricket recently began terminating hotpot service, but I think unless your usage is excessive you will be ok. I did my testing with the 5GB plan, which then throttles to 128kbps.

Finally, a W-Fi HotSpot with an Ethernet port! An up to 24 hour battery! Up to 20 Wi-Fi clients! And the throughput is measurably faster over the Ethernet port, when the port works. The other issue I've experienced: The unit occasionally locks up whereby you must remove the battery and reinsert it to revive it. Supposedly Netgear is aware of the issue and is planning on issuing a firmware update soon.

Using this for as an AT&T hotspot; we are in a dead zone for Internet service. AT&T landline but they refuse to offer DSL outside of Leavenworth city limits. While it isn't perfect, it functions for normal web surfing. Don't plan to actually chat while playing PS4. AT&T will not allow it - they direct you to purchase broadband WHICH THEY DO NOT OFFER!!!!!

I was a bit skeptical about this hotspot because I've tried so many others but this one truly blew me away. It works seamlessly to provide internet to our home and at fast speeds. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

I have had this for 2 years and it works great. But it did not have band b14, so I upgraded. This is the older model, be aware the newer 6420b does support band b14.

Very easy to manage using “Netgear Mobile” App. Rechargeable battery lasting about 24 hours on the go. No software to install. Just power it on and connect your devices.

This is without a doubt the perfect hotspot device made today. I am now able to travel and have the freedom of using Wi-Fi no matter where I am in the United States.

I have had this for almost two years now, and this thing has been rock solid. I moved a SIM from a Mobley to this and have had zero issues. Highly recommend.
