AudioQuest PowerQuest TV3: Overhyped or Worth It? The AudioQuest PowerQuest TV3 certainly looks premium. Its heavy weight and solid metal construction give the impression that you’re buying a top-tier surge protector, and the build quality is undeniably impressive. That said, I’m still not convinced it’s worth the premium price. For basic surge protection, a quality $99 surge protector may provide similar real-world protection for most users. AudioQuest heavily markets its “Noise-Dissipation” technology, but the benefits seem difficult to quantify. In my setup, I actually noticed more visible noise and grain in HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content after installing the TV3. Whether that’s related to the unit itself or another variable in my system is hard to say, but it certainly wasn’t the improvement I expected. Overall, the TV3 feels exceptionally well-built, but I’m left wondering if much of the cost goes toward premium materials and marketing rather than a noticeable improvement in performance. If you’re considering one, manage your expectations—great build quality doesn’t always translate into a better picture.

I like how slim the unit is and can mount to the wall. Out of the way and all of my wires are hidden behind the TV.
