I recently purchased the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones after a lot of back and forth. I was torn between the AirPods Max and these, and I’ll admit—it wasn’t an easy decision. Both have their own merits, but after spending some serious time weighing my options, the QuietComfort Ultra came out on top. The deciding factors for me were comfort, weight, features for the price, and noise cancellation. First off, these headphones are noticeably lighter than the AirPods Max, which makes a huge difference during long listening sessions. I can wear them for hours without any discomfort or that heavy feeling on my head. The ear cups are plush, and the overall fit is snug without being too tight. As for the noise cancellation—Bose does what it does best. I’ve tested them on flights, in coffee shops, and even during my daily commute, and they block out everything. It’s almost eerie how effective it is. Whether I’m listening to music or just enjoying some peace and quiet, these headphones deliver. What really impressed me is the range of features packed into these headphones for the price. The sound quality is rich and balanced, and the companion app offers plenty of customization options to tweak it just the way you like. Battery life is solid, too—I’ve yet to worry about running out of juice during a busy day. If you’re on the fence like I was, here’s my advice: go for the QuietComfort Ultra. They’re not just headphones—they’re an investment in comfort and quality sound. Bose knocked it out of the park with these.

If you don't pay much attention to the world of audio, it may surprise you to discover that Bose is a surprisingly divisive brand. There's a vocal, mostly online community that will bash anything Bose. “Bose is overpriced!”, they say. “No highs, no lows, must be Bose”, they say. I’m not a fan of every Bose product I’ve used. For example, whenever I try out my old AE2s in hopes that maybe I’ll appreciate them more, I’m always let down. But for every loser they make, there’s a few winners. I have a set of circa-90s 301s in my living room that I thrifted, and they really do sound great. I have a Bose sound system in my car, and I love it. I still use a Bose Wave Radio by my bed. The QuietComfort Ultra are a winner. They might actually be the best product Bose has ever made - their pinnacle. Peak Bose, you can say. The QuietComfort Ultra are Bose's newest high-end noise cancelling model, following up the Noise Cancelling 700 - which received some mixed reactions but have a bit of a dedicated fanbase. While the fit and finish isn't exactly on the level of this headphone's predecessor, and while I do prefer the look of the 700s, Bose has achieved a decent medium here. I remember people complaining about the metal build of the 700s being too heavy, and the Ultras don't feel like that at all. They’re incredibly comfortable and they don’t have the clamping force that people complained about on the old model. The Ultras do definitely feel lighter, and as a result they feel flimsier - but really Bose is sort of in a lose-lose situation here. They don’t feel cheap, but they don’t feel as nice as the 700s. They just feel like headphones. If I had to give them credit for one thing, if you get the right color, they look spectacular - I have the Diamond colorway, and it’s gorgeous. The moment you put them on, you can tell just how many years of engineering and care went into these. Bose is such an interesting company to me because they're an audio company that basically does weird things that no one else would ever do, while basically being /the/ most well known name in audio outside of maybe Apple, I guess. Amar Bose, the company’s founder, went on a plane ride in the late 70s and tried out a pair of the headphones the airline given to him. He hated the experience. The background noise was so distracting that he pulled out a notepad and drew up a preliminary design for noise cancelling headphones on the flight. It took a decade and $50 million to turn that concept into a workable product. Bose were the first company to market any noise cancelling headphones - to pilots in the late 80s and to the general public in 2000. I sound like I’m writing an advertisement right now, but I just wanted to give some context here. There’s bits and pieces of technology that I don’t really think much about, in that context - but the QuietComfort Ultras just feel different. Their noise cancelling is absolutely superb. They just… work. There have been times I’ve used them with no music playing and I’ve taken them off and I’ve been astonished about how much of the noise around me is just gone. If you have sensory issues like me, these can be a lifesaver. Just on that basis alone, I’d recommend them. But they’re headphones. /Bose/ headphones. How do they sound? I have a pair of Sony MDR-1AM2s, which are now discontinued but I've always loved them. They don't noise cancel, and they're wired, but they've been my go-to set for just listening to music out and around. Switching between them and the Bose, I was kind of surprised. The Sonys feel a bit warmer and a bit more bass-heavy, but honestly I prefer a slightly colder sound and that's where the QuietComfort Ultras shine. There's a few songs with prominent basslines where I still prefer the Sonys, but I was kind of surprised at first to find quite a few songs where I actually prefer the Bose. What's even more surprising to me is that I barely EQ'd them. In the app, it includes a built-in equalizer. I had the Bose NC 700s momentarily, and also tried the Sennheiser Momentum 4s (which, for the record, sounded great) - but with both, I couldn't really get the sound I wanted from the equalizers in both of their apps. Which, for me, is a problem because I'm an iPhone user and there's no other way of getting a more advanced EQ. With the Ultras, the sound I want might change just a little over time, but I'm never frustrated with how they sound. In fact, my current setting is basically just tuning the mids down 1db and sometimes adjusting the treble a little bit. That's it. Now, they do sound a bit more analytical, more flat. Maybe I’m just biased by being used to my MDR-1AM2s, but the Ultras actually sound a bit bright to my ears. These are headphones that make good recordings sound great and make bad recordings sound bad. To some people, that’s a good thing, and to others that isn’t. I reckon that most people will think these sound great and won’t mess with the EQ at all. However, if you mainly listen to bass-heavy music and you want your head to shake, these won’t give you that. The Sennheiser Momentum 4s will, and they'll give you more battery life, but they don't have the Bose's noise cancelling or honestly the Bose's ease of use. The Sennheisers are annoying sometimes. The Bose really aren't. The Sony XM5s might give you a bit more bass, too, but those have the hinge issue that everybody on the r/SonyHeadphones subreddit will tell you about the second excitedly you post there with the XM5s you just bought. Are the QuietComfort Ultras the world’s best sounding headphones that will wow everybody at CanJam? No, but that’s not what they’re meant to be. For most people, they’ll sound great - and their noise cancelling alone is enough to seal the deal. They look nice and fancy. They have an “Immersive Audio” mode, which while it’s sort of useless to me and makes everything sound worse honestly, is still kind of fun to try out sometimes. Don’t worry, you can turn it off. They have a nice case. If you have expendable income and all you want to do is listen to “Are You Jimmy Ray” by Jimmy Ray at 50% volume on a 15 hour flight in some semblance of actual peace, these are the headphones for you. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra are a technological marvel designed for people who just want to sit back and relax and listen to their favorite music - or just listen to nothing at all.

I’m absolutely thrilled with these headphones! Honestly, this is one of the best purchases you can make on the market, especially at a price close to $300—I got mine for $298 with a discount. The regular price of $449 feels a bit high, but in my opinion, it’s worth it and easily beats Apple-shi3t or Sony alternatives. The sound quality is phenomenal—crisp, detailed, and immersive. For sports, it might not be the obvious choice, but for home use, it’s simply amazing. Traveling? Perfect. The noise cancellation works exactly as advertised—really impressive and effective. Overall, if you want top-notch comfort, superb audio, and unbeatable noise cancellation, these headphones are a fantastic choice. Highly recommend! (wait discounts :))

Battery lasts a long time, they are comfortable, and the noise canceling is good.

I’m autistic with ahdh. For a while i’ve been using the apple air pods as my form of noise cancellation, but to wear long term for the duration of the day, they just weren’t comfortable enough. I did a lot of research ahead of time, being this would be my first purchase of real headphones and not just earbuds. To say i’m floored by their comfortable, the level of noise cancellation and the sound quality when I do have music going, is an understatement. If you’re also stuck deciding between similiar price range products as I was, I can happily say I have not been more thrilled about a purchase in a very long time. You will absolutely not be disappointed.

Mixed feelings! I currently own these, the quiet comfort and I started with the QC 35’s. I never owned the 45’s. These are certainly superior in comfort and in noise cancellation. As always audio sounds amazing and they’re comfortable for all day wear. Calls sound amazing as well, sound and feature wise these are above the Quiet Comfort headphones. BUT my one gripe is that these are harder to turn off, I I do miss the actual on and off switch with the regular Quiet Comforts, I feel like those battery lasted forever. These Ultras feel like it last less time because they’re harder to turn off and sometimes I won’t do it correctly, I had to change the auto off settings to be stricter. Final thoughts is I miss my simple switch that the regular Quiet Comforts do have, these are sleaker and sound better but they are almost twice as much during specials. I love my Bose tho

This Is By Far The Best Bose Branded Headset I've Ever Owned. First Off, The Sound Quality It Projects Is Truly Amazing. There Is More Bass Distributed In Comparison To The QC 45 Which I Love But The Icing On The Cake, I Must Say Is Bose Implemented Immersive Audio Into These Which Left Me Breathless Upon Trying Out The Demo In The App. The Comfort And Noise Cancellation Is Second To None. Highly Recommend 10/10 !!!

The headphones function well and are very comfortable. They connect well to my devices via Bluetooth. My only criticism is the color. They are described as silver and the picture shows quute a bit of silver color. However, white dominates. I think they should be described as white. The carrying case is white. Had I known that white would dominate the color scheme, I would have selected blue or black.

Get these bad boys! They block out ALL the noise. I could BARELY hear my dish disposal going or my yorkie/chihuahua mix yapping away at the mailman while bumpin’ my Christian rap music. Your household will be like the Verizon dude, “Can you hear me now?” & you surely will not hear them! I’m a loyal Apple user but based on BB, Google & Reddit reviews + majority of my first class passengers (I’m a flight attendant) using Bose headphones, I grabbed these & do not regret it. In addition, I love the sound quality, the aesthetic look & the cable cord to use inflight.

Here's a refined review narrative for your Bose headphones: I recently got my hands on a pair of Bose headphones, and I must say, they have completely transformed my listening experience. From the moment I put them on, I was immersed in crystal-clear sound with deep, rich bass and balanced mids and highs. Whether I’m listening to music, watching a movie, or taking a call, the audio quality remains impeccable. The noise cancellation is truly top-notch, effectively blocking out background noise and allowing me to focus on what matters. It’s perfect for travel, work, or simply unwinding in a noisy environment. The comfort level is outstanding as well—lightweight with plush ear cushions that make extended use a breeze. Battery life is impressive, lasting me through long hours without needing frequent charges. The Bluetooth connectivity is seamless, with no noticeable lag or drop in quality. The intuitive touch controls and voice assistant integration add to the overall convenience, making these headphones a joy to use. I love these over the are headphones. I’m a music lover, I need to hear my highs , mids and bass . I need to hear a full sound and these Bose provided a great rounded sound. And battery life is completely awesome. They last a long time, and when you have them in the case , they last for weeks or months. I charged my headphones to 100% and used for a couple of hours and then put them back in the case and haven’t used them for months and it still had 60% months later . I could not believe it. I initially bought these for a flight and used them on the plane and they were comfortable and I didn’t hear much of the plane humming you hear. I definitely recommend these if you’re looking foot over the ear. 1 con: when you receive a call and answer, it will not connect to wireless automatically, need to switch to wireless on your phone (I have an iPhone) but otherwise, you hear clearly and the other person can hear you clearly as well.

Let me first acknowledge that a lot of reviewers mention these don’t feel as premium as its competitors. And honestly I can’t argue with them on that. But I don’t necessarily feel like they feel cheap. And after coming from very premium feeling B&W headphones, I do really appreciate how light these feel as a result of not using more premium metal and other heavier materials. In terms of sound quality, it’s right on par with the Sony and AirPods Max (both of which I have owned). And the noise canceling is also on par (I would say a bit better than the AirPods Max, but just shy of the Sony). The only reason I dinged a star is because it lacks a feature the Sony does have. It can connect to two devices simultaneously. But you can’t turn that off (i.e. you can’t set it so it can only be connected to one device at any time). This is annoying because I know it does degrade the quality of the bluetooth connection. But mainly because of times where I am using them on a call, open my laptop, and it will connect to my laptop but I won’t be able to hear my call. Overall, I do think if you want to go with anything better, you do need to shell out $200+ more. I would say the Sony are a good alternative, and they are. But I find these far more comfortable, especially if you wear them for any more than 2 hours at a time.

I did the test of these in the BestBuy store. I could not hear any of the store noise. I have the Airpod pro 2 and previous editions of Bose quiet comfort headphones. I can hear surrounding sounds from all of them. BUT NOT THESE! the ear cuffs and headband are very comfortable. Linking with iphone and ipad easy. Use of the Bose app straight forward. The headphones shutting off automatically when taken off is helpful. I was able to purchase on sale but they are worth the price.
