These speakers have to be paired with the right components, Try across Cambridge Audio, Marantz, Arcam and Rotel, you will find the right amp to pair these with. I use these for listening to music, I had a Mordaunt Short sub lying around (don't really need the sub). After about a 500 hr, break in period these speakers shine. The value for money is incredible (I got them on sale), these bookshelf speakers can put most towers in their price range to shame. You will have to exceed $2500 for towers to get better sound.

A Bowers & Wilkins branded speaker has a tremendous reputation to overcome. The 606-S3 is the entry level bookshelf offering in the B&W value series. These are revealing speakers whether at 60 dB or 85 dB. I suggest a separate power amplifier to bring out the dynamics of this speaker. You may find the bass lacking and the treble overpowering. If so, simply cut your treble -1 dB and boost your bass +1 dB or adjust to your preference. I am using an Anthem preprocessor straight - no room correction - with an Outlaw 7000x amplifier. Placement matters, so listen to well known tracks and adjust the width between the speakers as well as the distance from the wall to dial in the stereo imaging. I am thoroughly impressed with these speakers that make up our 5.1 base layer surround system in the family room. Music is wonderfully clear, detailed, and revealing. Movies have clear dialogue with realistic surround sound making for a stunning performance.

Pairs nicely with the B&W 606 S3. Creates a seamless sound stage. I did dial back the treble a touch (1db) to take the edge off the highs. Did this for the 606s as well. Beautifully finished, can see the attention to detail in the build quality. Have always liked the sound of B&Ws and these do not disappoint. On a separate note, I first purchased this speaker as an open box excellent but had to return as the packaging inside the box was nonexistent. The speaker tumbled around in the box during shipping and dented all the corners. Looked horrible. May have started out as excellent but ended up as barely good. Maybe a bit more training for the Geeks is needed when certifying and sealing the open box if may be shipped. Disappointed. Ended up purchasing new.

Used a universal mount to put these in the corner of my wall and maximize the floor space. Sounds fantastic. I know the recommendation is for the bowers floor stands, but it’s home entertainment, not a business or sound studio.

Incredible speakers. The sound is fantastic. Picked up cheap open box to use as surrounds but would be amazing even for L and R speakers.

I've used Bose, JBLs, Klipsch and Polk Audio speakers, but none is better than B&Ws. Used as stand alone or paired with a decent subwoofer, the 606 S3 emits sounds I guarantee you'll enjoy. Once you hear the sounds, you won't consider purchasing any other brand. You're paying for quality.

Went from 607 to these. What an upgrade!! These speakers are dynamic. Phenomenal imaging. Very detailed and sound incredible. These are part if a 2.0 analogue setup for me. One thing i can say about B&W is you need to feed them good clean power. The reward is unbelievable transparency and sound imaging. I have owned B&W for close to 10 years (all with vinyl) and am still blowm away to this day how unbelievable these speakers perform. They bring the stage to your home.

These bookshelf speaker are as good as any speaker I have heard. I love the way they sound at low volume with out any sub! However they sound great at any volume. I’m sure higher priced ones sound even better but these are perfect for me.

I auditioned this against Polk, Klipsch, JBL, Elac, and other bookshelf speakers. These stood out the the most captivating sound. Just down right enjoyable to sit and listen to our favorite new and old music.

Using these as side surrounds in a home theater 7.1 setup. Noticable sound difference from my old setup. Took a bit to find the right placement and configuration with my receiver but after a day of playing with that. Its Bliss
