This is my new favorite coffee pot. I've tested it for over 2 months now and absolutely love it. It makes it very easy to brew high quality coffee and I use it daily as my single cup brewer. For brews under 600ml it automatically detect the water level and switches to an immersion mode which steeps the coffee for 4 minutes before opening the drain gasket to release it. The flavor is extremely similar to my aeropress but slightly more delicate, perhaps because of the larger Melita #4 style filter. The thermal carafe keeps coffee hot hours (when I work remotely from home I've brewed a cup in the morning and I'm still getting hot coffee out of it at the end of the work day). It is well built and pours 100% of the coffee out unlike many other brands that have a lip on the inside of the carafe that never lets you fully empty it. I've seen some confusing reviews that say you cannot brew into the carafe with the lid on. That's only true when you're doing single cup immersion brewing because the added height of the carafe lid will lift the gasket in the brew chamber and cause the liquid to drain as it brews. I only ever use the carafe when I'm doing 6 to 12 cups of coffee and you can absolutely brew with the crafe lid on. I only have a few criticisms about it. The first is that the removable water reservoir never dries out and tends to hold in condensation and always has a little bit of water left over. This style coffee machine is supposed to brew with all the water it has in the reservoir. You have to fill the reservoir every time so it could be annoying to some that the reservoir maintains a few tablespoons of water at the bottom at all times. It's not a big deal if you're going to use it often but if you're going to use it infrequently then you're going to want to put the reservoir on a drying rack to get it fully dried out. The second is that, while you can do some custom programming, there is no way to make a custom program that does immersion brewing. No matter how you program it, it will never seal the drain gasket in the brew chamber like it does for a standard brew. The end result is that you're always doing percolation brewing which leads me to my third criticism. Breville makes a pour over adapter for the previous generation of this coffee maker and it is not compatible with this newer model. Why is that important? Given that this has programmable water temperature and it's a steady brewer, it would be awesome if paired with a pour over v60. I'm hoping that they update the pour over adapter and release it again for this model. I probably wouldn't use it most days but it's always nice to have options and a v60 filter seems more appropriate for smaller brews. With all that said I'm still giving this coffee maker five stars. It's the best automatic drip machine I've ever had, and I've had many. Perhaps this is due to the rock solid temperature control. If you put in the quantities of water and coffee everyday you will get the same cup of coffee every day. This makes it as simple as a Moccamaster, except this unit is way more customizable and does fully automatic brewing whether you are brewing for one or 12 cups for the whole family.

Excellent coffee machine. Biggest issue: 1. SHOWERHEAD RING POPS OFF EVERY FEW BREWS. 2. THE TRIM ON THE SHOWERHEAD IS STARTING TO WARP.

It’s the best coffee maker that I’ve ever own. It brews 10 cups of coffee in five minutes. The stainless steel carafe is cold in the outside but the coffee is piping hot inside.

Brews a great and hot cup of coffee. The pros in my opinion: carafe keeps coffee hot for quite a while, the customization features are fun, very easy to clean, aesthetically pleasing on the counter. The cons in my opinion: I had to go to the Breville website to download the full manual to figure out everything, no clock, you have to add the exact amount of water you want to brew so there is no number of cups option, you use a cone filter/adapter for 8 or less cups and an extra large flat filter for 10-12 cups. I gave it 5 stars because once you get past the quirkiness, its a great cup of coffee.

Purchased the Luxe Brewer Thermal a short time ago. I originally had and still in great working order the Breville Precision Brewer Thermal and retired it to my office. The new Luxe is easy to use and seems a bit lighter weight but when I checked the weights on these two brewers it was almost identical to my amazement. Best of all distinctions on the Luxe is the removable water tank with the Swiss Water Filter, an improved faceplate where the carafe sits and the slimmer build. If your hesitating...don't hesitate and go for it...you wont be disappointed

Delicious coffee with a lot of custom options. It's hard to find a drip coffee maker with no black plastic and this one meets that criteria - in addition to making great coffee. The pot keeps it hot all morning too

This coffeemaker makes a great cup of coffee with just the standard one-touch “brew” mode. However its ability to customize the brew also allows you to tweak the experience between, say light and dark roasts. I haven’t tried the cold brew setting yet. Oh, also the removable water take is really easy to use and fill. Greet experience with this brewer so far!

THE COFFEE MAKER IS STYLISH AND WELL BUILT. I HAVE OTHER BREVILLE APPLIANCES AND THIS LIVES UP TO THE BREVILLE STANDARD. FUNCTIONING AS EXPECTED HOWEVER STILL JURY OUT ON DURABILITY BUT EXPECTING YEARS OF SERVICE.

I thought the Luxe would be an upgrade from my Breville Precision brewer, which served me flawlessly for 6 years. In some ways it is better. There is a removeable water tank, more wattage to heat water to slightly higher temp, a bigger display for time when using timer, and an optional water filter. What isn't better is the performance of the brewer. You can no longer use a slow flow for brewing except for "small batch brews" according to Breville Support. This only matters if you use the "custom" setting like I do. The flow rate impacts strength of coffee and was available for every batch size in the precision brewer so this feels like a change that isn't listed anywhere in the manual which annoys me. Based on this information from the support team, I tried slow flow on a approximately 25oz batch and it didn't work, leaving more than 4ozs of coffee in the tank. I tried using the regular brew setting with the 25oz coffee batch and it left more than 4ozs in the tank too. I ran a descale to get any air out of the pumps to fix it. I don't use low flow anymore. I had this issue with two machines with two different batch numbers and report the issue to Breville. The pump on this machine sounds louder than the precision brewer and I wonder if they made a change to the equipment. If they did, they made the flexibility of this machine worse and didn't share it with potential customers. I use the machine every day to brew 50oz of coffee and it is working well at a custom setting with med flow. Even though the Breville support team has been responsive to my cases, they don't seem to be concerned that the machine doesn't work as advertised. I am not sure if the regular brew cycle works because I don't use it. The Breville support FAQ that recommends starting a brew cycle and stopping it a couple of times to clear air from the pump may be an indicator of a questionable design. I wish Breville would recognize the error, fix it, and replace the unit. I gave it 3 stars because I am using the machine. I won't buy it again.

Absolutely love this coffee maker. The dial control and limited buttons were a bit intimidating at first, but it’s actually very straightforward once you get used to it. Mon- Fri, I drink my coffee black, weekends I might add creamer and or Vanilla Hagen Daz ice cream . With this machine, I can definitely taste a difference in the coffee and I love it. I only wish it had a built-in memory or battery pack to keep the time when the power goes out.

We have owned this coffee maker for 6 weeks, my wife said it is her favorite of all the ones she has used over the years. It is nice to not have to get a pitcher out of the cupboard every day to fill the water coffee pot up. It also runs the water through in 6-8 minutes.

Although you a but pay more for Breville, it is worth the money. They are reliable, easy to use and last longer than most coffee makers.
