About this product
Vinyl LP pressing. Wanderer, Cat Power's stunning tenth studio album, marks a pivotal moment in both Marshall's life and her career. In the six years since the of 2012's Sun, she has traveled the world, given birth to a child, and parted ways with her previous record tag. Even though it was, in many ways, a period of profound upheaval and radical change, those experiences resulted in a record that is arguably the most assured artistic statement of her career. Produced by Marshall and mixed by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck), the album includes appearances by longtime friends and compatriots, as well as guest vocals courtesy of recent tourmate Lana Del Rey. Wanderer is, in many ways, a quintessential Cat Power record, with Marshall's clarion voice front and center in a set of songs that remarkably stark and straightforward. But, if old Cat Power records might easily have been viewed as repositories for pain, Wanderer is, at it's heart, a testament to the transformative nature of songs, an album-length imagining of alternate paths, redemptions, connections, and open-ended possibility. Album Tracks 1. Wanderer 2. In Your Face 3. You Get 4. Woman (Feat. Lana Del Rey) 5. Horizon 1. Stay 2. Black 3. Robbin Hood 4. Nothing Really Matters 5. Me Voy 6. Wanderer/Exit

A Song-for-Song Recreation of Dylan's Famous 1966 Concert on Double LP! In November 2022, Cat Power took the stage at London's Royal Albert Hall and delivered a song-for-song recreation of one of the most fabled and transformative live sets of all time. Held at the Manchester Free Trade Hall in May 1966 - but long known as the InchRoyal Albert Hall ConcertInch due to a mislabeled bootleg - the original performance saw Bob Dylan switching from acoustic to electric midway through the show, drawing ire from an audience of folk purists and forever altering the course of rock-and-roll. In her own rendition of that historic night, the artist otherwise known as Chan Marshall inhabited each song with equal parts conviction and grace and a palpable sense of protectiveness, ultimately transposing the anarchic tension of Dylan's set with a warm and luminous joy. Now captured on the live album Cat Power Sings Dylan The 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert, Marshall's spellbinding performance both lovingly honors her hero's imprint on history and brings a stunning new vitality to many of his most revered songs. Album Tracks 1. She Belongs to Me 2. Fourth Time Around 3. Visions of Johanna 4. It's All Over Now, Baby Blue 1. Desolation Row 2. Just Like a Woman 3. Mr. Tambourine Man 1. Tell Me, Momma 2.
