Vinyl LP pressing. Rubies hold a special place amongst the world's rarest natural treasures. The most sought-after of the corundum family, the gemstone's crimson hue instantly catches attention - as if extracting passion from the earth itself and crystallizing it in mineral form. Similarly, Macy Gray occupies a rare space in the canon of modern music. That unmistakable rasp, unshakable grasp on soul, and funky spirit ensured her status as a 21st century icon since her arrival with the triple-platinum How Life Is in 1999. Ake the first single InchSugar Daddy.Inch Co-written with none other than pop superstar Meghan Trainor, the track swings from jazz-y piano into a cooing verse that's as sweet as it is sassy. Ruby canvases a wide spectrum for the songstress. Raucous horns that feel ripped from a classic seventies flick augment the grit on InchCold WorldInch as InchJealousyInch spins a covetous narrative that soars as it seduces. Gary Clark Jr. Adds six-string firepower to InchBuddha.Inch Everything culminates on the reggae-inspired InchWitness,Inch which shuffles between mainland soul and island grooves. In the end, Ruby represents Macy Gray at her most passionate, poetic, and powerful. Album Tracks 1. Buddha 2. Cold World 3. Over You 4. White Man 5. Tell Me 6. Sugar Daddy 7. When It Ends 8. It is hard to believe that it is already 5 years since Radioaktivists made their recording debut via the compilation 'Dependence 2012', on which the German quartet offered up the song 'Pieces Of Me'. A strong and danceable electronic anthem, it not only impressed DJ's, but also had fans clamoring for a full album. However, the band decided to take time to hone their sound and overall modus operandi before delivering the meisterwerk that is 'Radioakt One'. But who are these activists? Frank Spinath, psychologist and lead singer icon of various groups/projects that include Seabound, Edge Of Dawn and Lionheart, is here working for the first time with Daniel Myer (of Haujobb, Architect and Liebknecht), despite the fact that both musicians lived in the same city of Bielefeld for several years. Krischan Wesenberg is well known as the studio wizard in the duo Rotersand but has also made a name for himself as a sound engineer, producer and remixer for other artists. Sascha Lange is the author of several books on the Depeche Mode fan scene and underground DJ culture in the former East Germany. Radioaktivists have certainly taken a walk off the well-trodden path with their debut album. Although offering strong
