The series follows a boy who mysteriously disappears in 1980s Indiana, and his friends, family, and local police become embroiled in a story filled with secret experiments and supernatural forces. The story revolves around a girl with superpowers who becomes embroiled in the events and joins a group of children to fight monsters and evil forces from the Upside Down.
