A: Hi Milly, This is Carissa with Dyson. The brush bar does not turn off on the cordless units. We would recommend the Articulating Hard Floor tool for the rugs.

Q: What is the difference between this v6 and the new v8 stick?
A: Hi there! Thank you for your interest in the Dyson cordless. The V8 is newer with more suction power at 115 air watts while the V6 has 100. The battery life is also longer on the V8. It will get 7 minutes in MAX mode. 25 minutes in standard mode with the motorized cleaner head attached and 30 minutes with the soft roller cleanerhead or mini motorized tool attached. 40 minutes for any other tool. A: Hi Amanda, This is Carissa with Dyson. The V6 Animal comes with a direct drive head that is 75% stronger and a mini motorized tool great for cleaning the car or getting pet hair off of furniture.
Q: Is this a good vacuum for laminate hardwood floor?

This machine is great for quick clean ups and in between cleanings and is designed to work on all common floor types, such as laminate flooring. A: The vacume is doing what all brushed vacuumed will do. The brushes are gonna trap the hair. No solution. I'd think about a irobot because they used rubber paddles to agggitate the floor. Might work better. Or you could always get other dogs. ;)
