Mac owners rejoice! The original HD60 and HD60S were not supported on Mac using OBS. Yes, they worked if you also used Elgato's Game Capture software; however, if you use OBS you were out of luck. Until the HD60S+. Setup is as simple as it gets. Run HDMI cable from your source (PS4, Xbox, etc) to the HD60S+ input. Run another HDMI cable from the HD60S+ output to your monitor. Finally, run the USB cable from the HD60S+ to your computer. VERY IMPORTANT: if you are using a PS4 or Xbox, you MUST disable HDCP or the capture will not work. Please note, disabling HDCP will mean you cannot watch BluRay movies on your PS4 or Xbox. To disable on the PS4, Go to Settings->System and uncheck the box "Enable HDCP". Another note: the HD60S+ does NOT encode. It only captures. That means your computer will still be doing the encoding work (either your CPU with x264 or your GPU).

This card is awesome for streaming PS5 games on a Mac. I've used it for about a year and had no issues. It has also worked phenomenally well with my Nintendo Switch. It's basically plug and play, which is much better than the hoops I had to jump through for the previous model on Mac.

this allows you to PLAY in 4k while your 2nd screen (monitor) captures in 1080p. what took me awhile to realize is that I play on my xbox one x and I totally forgot that you will not be able to watch 4k movies due to copyright issues, because an el gato (captures) you can technically copy movies and sell them. So in order to watch movies, you will have to unplug one the hdmi that runs from the el gato 4k output and plug that hdmi into your xbox one x. basically unplug the current one plugged into your xbox and replace it, your all set after that. As far as the capture card goes, its amazing. does what it says.

Very convenient to be able to stream my switch gameplay since there’s no built in streaming on nintendo switch.

I'm currently using the el gato to stream on twitch and game capture for youtube via PS4, xbox one, switch and via apple devices (though I needed to purchase the HDMI adapter via Apple). Set up is extremely easy and I use the capture software on both my PC and Mac. Works excellent with Steam labs OBS and the 60 fps is excellent for future proofing with the next generation of games. I would def recommend over the HD60 is purchasing either new and not second hand.

I think this must be the best capture card I have used so far! Works with any modern gaming device and runs it at 60fps.

I have used this product for about 3 months now and I must say that the product delivers as it says it would. I get a good video quality every single time. I recommend it.

Does what it says. Simple app. Setup is confusing especially hooking up the ins and outs. Had to watch youtube videos to explain things. Good quality. Plastic chasis warms up a bit while functioning. Not much room for larger HDMI cable ends. Cost is a bit high. Elgato seems to have the streaming game market. Worth it if you want 4k But there are cheaper options. Overall a good product.

I connected it and it has never given me any problems, it is without a doubt the best capture card on the market in this format.

I returned this one because I didn’t know what I was doing with my setup. I have the HD60S but I plan on upgrading back to this one next week.

I've been using a -very- low cost Wiistar capture dongle, but there was significant banding in the video captured via Quicktime on MacOS, even at "Maximum" quality. I bought the HD60 S+ expecting a big jump in quality -and- the ability to capture 4K30. Neither was the case. The color banding was nearly identical to the Wiistar that was 1/4 the price and 4K30 was not an option, despite indications on product pages that it was. (See photo of a capture from an Apple TV.)

I bought this for $200 and it does support 4K HDR passthrough but only for some games. It's the best non pci-e 16 Capture Card from Elgato. It does support instant gameview, but it's not playable still a .5 second delay. You can only record at 1080p30 FPS when playing games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare or Rocket League in 4K 60 FPS without the footage being extremely laggy and having stutters. Works great for PC's half the price of the original Elgato 4K Pro. You can record/play in 4K HDR if you had a second computer that had the HDR encoder software already on your commputer. Gaming PC Specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VVRc6s My pc has an intel i7 6700k, rtx 2080ti, 16 gb ram, and a 1 tb SSD. If you had a better computer with a i9 9900k or at least a 1920x threadripper, you could get better performance from this capture card. This should be $150 and have a patch that allows you to automatically download the HDR encoder. I will edit this review when I find a HDR encoder to record at 1080p HD 30 FPS 32 mbps bitrate.

Hello there, I apologize for the issues you ran into. Software support is now available for the HD60 S+. The publicly available software prior to the official launch of the product did not have specific device support for the HD60 S+. We assume this led to the product working in a limited capacity. With the official launch of the HD60 S+, all software device support needed is now live on the Elgato website. You can find that at https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/downloads. Don't hesitate to also reach out to us for assistance, we're here to help with any issues related to our products: help.elgato.com -Art <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/CorsairGaming.jpeg" alt="CorsairGaming" title="CorsairGaming" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

Excellent capture card! I've heard of this brand for a while, and decided to get one for myself. I was NOT disappointed! Works PERFECTLY with the Nintendo Switch. Must-have if you want to stream not only Nintendo Switch, but also other consoles as well!

Really enjoy having a high quality capture card device. Will record in HDR 4k as well to your PC. For streaming, you will need to use OBS or StreamLabs OBS. The 4k Capture utility by Elgato will only record. GameCapture HD will NOT work with this device. Not a big deal. that being said, if you have a HD 60 or HD 60S, and dont want to use 4k passthrough, and use GameCapture HD, the 60S+ would not benefit you. Pros: Great Device, easy to use and setup. Comes with HDMI Cable and USB cable 4k passthrough works flawlessly. Cons: Price Doesnt work with GameCapture HD (elgato streaming utility software)
