I really enjoyed this edition of the series, I was very excited to get it for the Switch. Game play is just as I remember it and the graphics are smooth, just remember that you can save as many files as you want, but to load a save file you have to close the came and restart it. Please be aware that the cartridge only comes with FFX on it physically, and it has X2 on the menu but grayed out until you go to the Nintendo eShop and use the code that comes inside the box to download X2 and have it install on the Switch itself. This concerns me, as the impression it gives is that this cartridge contains both games, not one game and a download. I'm worried that when I loan it to my son to play on his switch, will he have to download the rest to play X2? Will he be able to? Will he be able to use the same code that came with the game? Is the code a 1 time use code? If the X2 is installed on the unit itself, can I play it without the cartridge? I haven't tested any of these questions yet since I've been playing FFX non-stop since i bought it, but it bothers me that this was not explained until I opened the packaging, opened the case, and found a slip of paper with a tiny sentence saying to go to the Nintendo eShop and enter the code to get the rest of the game.

Final Fantasy is a cool game for nostalgia.Too bad all the games are not on the cart no loaning a friend this whole game to try. The game could have been made better but if your into Final Fantasy you won’t regret checking this one out. It goes on sale for 20$ during Black Friday if your a budget gamer like myself who doesn’t have all the time in the world to game and has patience. It would be worth it to snatch at sales price.

WARNING: Only Final Fantasy X is on the game cartridge. Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy X-2: Last Mission, as well as the Bonus Content, are available as a download only via an eShop redeemable code. Most Nintendo Switch games have a notice on the front of the box indicating if content is missing from the cartridge and needs to be downloaded; this game does NOT and only mentions it in tiny print on the back of the case. Honestly this shouldn't even be legal. Since I opened it before noticing, Best Buy won't accept it for return either.

I have been playing Final Fantasy since it first came out on the NES. (I know, I am aging myself), and of all the games Final Fantasy X has been my favorite. I had wanted it for a handheld, portable device, but when it was released on the PS Vita, I was a broke college student who couldn't afford the game, much less the Vita to play it. Now that I am older, and have a steady income, I preordered this for the Switch the day I was able. And I don't regret it one bit! The graphics are amazing! So much so, if you pay attention you can see little mistakes that didn't matter in the original version, but in HD can be seen. Does that take away from the game at all? NO!! The story line is just as wonderful as I remember, and being able to play Final Fantasy X on the go is a dream come true. My main/only complaint is that FFX-2 was a download code, and not actually on the cartridge or on its own. I can understand why they did that, but I don't like it. TL;DR--Great game made even better by being portable. Highly recommended!

Wonderful game and presentation. Plays great on the switch. Modern TVs really make the prerendered back grounds and colors poo out on this game. Fun gameplay and interesting story just poor voice acting/character animations detract from engagement. Otherwise an excellent port and well worth it to play portable. Enjoy this classic in a new way!

One of my favorites on PS2 when it originally came out, it's been fun to replay Final Fantasy on Switch. The upgrade in graphics is noticeable and the gameplay holds up. The definitive version of X and X-2 with extras as well.

Final Fantasy X and X-2 are both great games, so I was happy to be able to get them for the Switch. The HD upgrade really isn't that noticeable to me, but I think the original games already looked pretty good. Final Fantasy X loses the ATB Bar of previous installments, but still manages to keep battles interesting. You can change out characters mid-battle, and the turn order is shown on the side of the screen and will change depending on attacks/spells used. Since you can take your time in battles, I think this makes FFX one of the best of the series for inexperience players. The Sphere Grid is one of the best leveling systems used in Final Fantasy games; one that I think they have tried to recreate in subsequent games. The story is pretty good, even if the dialogue is pretty mixed. This was the first Final Fantasy game with voice acting, so the quality is not that great. Final Fantasy X-2 is one of the most underrated of the main series. The general plot is interesting, but the dialogue and characters are laughably bad. The game more than makes up for it with the new Job-based leveling and battle system. Battles are a far departure from the slow, planning-based system of FFX. Battles in FFX-2 are very fast paced, and require quick thinking of jobs to switch to and attacks to use. It is a fun challenge, but may be off-putting for inexperienced players. Not too many changes have been made to the games, but a nice quick-healing mechanic for in between battles makes used of the Switch's touch screen. It's a minor thing, but saves time from constantly going to the menu. 5 Stars - Only reason I would not recommend it is if you already own both for the Playstation. The graphics upgrade is not significant. But for me, having both games on 1 cartridge on my current system, as well as the ability to take it on the go, is more than worth $50.

Both games play and work well on the Switch. It's pretty amazing to play these titles on the go. A good set of headphones does bring out the games more and enhances the game experience more so while off of the dock. Graphics and game play are pretty much the same with the previous remaster. So, it's nice to have the option to play either at home or away from it.

Great game when it originally came out and the remasters a little better. Definitely worth buying on cartridge to save memory card space on your Switch. I paid $35 on sale which I think is a little steep. $20 or less is a better price point. But, to have it portable it’s worth a little extra.

The most amazing Final Fantasy EVER comes to Nintendo Switch and it looks just as beautiful as it did on the PS4! This is an amazing game to take on the go, as it is an RPG that will take you many hours to beat. The story is beautiful and the action is strategic and fun. A must have for any RPG fans.

I forgot what an awesome adventure this was. Playing it on the go was only the icing on the cake. I hate that you cant play X-2 unless the cart is inserted considering it requires a separate download. Great RPG that holds up to this day and plays masterfully on the Switch!

This game is pretty cool and really pretty looking remaster if I say so myself for the Nintendo Switch. They did a great job remastering it in my opinion. It plays great and haven't had any issues or force closes, so far so good.
