Paul Haig - Rhythm of Life - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Reissue of this expanded edition of the Scottish Alt-Rock singer/songwriter's 1983 album. RHYTHM OF LIFE was recorded in New York and London by renowned producer Alex Sadkin. A collection of nine polished club pop tracks, the sessions featured a stellar case of guest musicians including Berni Worrell (Parliament/Funkadelic), Jack Waldman (Robert Palmer), Anton Fier (Feelies/Golden Palominos) and Tom Bailey (Thompson Twins). The album spawned no less than four singles in 'Heaven Sent', 'Justice', 'Never Give Up' and 'Blue for You'. Other standout tracks include 'Adoration', originally performed while Haig was still fronting Josef K. The five bonus tracks are taken from the 1984 mini-album NEW YORK REMIX. All are extended dance remixes by Big Apple deejay Bruce Forest, boosting the total playing time to 70 minutes. The booklet contains a detailed Haig biography and retains the original album artwork by Crepuscule design director Benoit Hennebert. Album Tracks 1. Heaven Sent 2. Never Give Up (Party, Party) 3. Gg Allin - Expose Yourself: The Singles Collection 1977-1991 - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. Gg Allin singles compilation reissued on vinyl. If you had an immense amount of courage (as well as a strong stomach), then you may have been 'lucky' to have experienced G.G. Allin the way he was meant to be - on-stage. In the studio, G.G.'s recordings more times than not did not match the fire of his live performance (and after watching some of his brutal shows on video, how could they'), as they were issued on a variety of little-known indie labels, and of varying quality. One of the first compilations to truly pull tracks from throughout G.G.'s controversial career is 2004's Expose Yourself The Singles Collection 1977-1991. A few selections have been impossible to find for years, such as the early G.G. single InchLove TunnelInch b/w InchDevil's Triangle,Inch which makes it's first appearance in years here. Elsewhere, you'll find tracks that have appeared elsewhere - InchSnakeman's Dance,Inch InchWhen I Die,Inch InchGypsy Motherfucker,Inch etc. - but are among G.G.'s best. Album Tracks 1. Love Tunnel 2. Devil's Triangle 3. 1980's Rock + Roll 4. Cheri Love Affair 5. Galileo 6. Jesus Over New York 7. Expose Yourself 8. Hangin' Out with Jim 9. Drink, Fight + F**k 10. Cock on the Loose 11. When I Die 12. Liquor Slicked Highway 13. Sitting in This Room 14. Watch Me Kill 15. Castration Crucifixion 16. Snakeman's Dance 17. Slaughterhouse Death Camp 18. Feces + Blood - Bacteria of the Soul 19. Master Daddy

Angel Olsen - Big Time - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2022 . Big Time is an album about the expansive power of new love, but this brightness and optimism is tempered by a profound and layered sense of loss. During Olsen's process of coming to terms with her queerness and confronting the traumas that had been keeping her from fully accepting herself, she felt it was time to come out to her parents, a hurdle she'd been avoiding for some time. After that tearful but relieving conversation, she celebrated with her partner, their friends, oysters, and wine. Three days later, her father died; his funeral became the occasion for Olsen to introduce her partner to her family. Though she was fearful their presence as a newly out queer couple would be Inchan additional symbol of loss,Inch those days went peacefully, yet only two weeks later Olsen got the call that her mother was in the ER. Hospice came soon after, and a second funeral came quickly on the heels of the first. Another trip back to St. Louis, another grief to face, another deepening and intensification of this still-new love. Three weeks after her mother's funeral she was in the studio, recording this incredibly wise and tender album. Album Tracks 1. All the Good Times 2. Big Time 3. Dream Thing 4. Ghost on 5. All the Flowers 6. Right Now 7. This Is How It Works 8. Go Home 9. Through the Fires 10. Chasing the Sun
