Françoise Hardy - Original Album Series - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Rucktion Records is proud to present 'Life Slap', the second MCD by West London's Tempers Fray, 7 brand new songs of crushingly heavy and groovy metallic Hardcore. Fans that the band have made through their live appearances around the UK and mainland Europe, or through their debut '7 15' will in no way be disappointed, as Tempers Fray have not strayed from their formula, and have delivered a relentlessly energetic, explosive and well-written follow-up. What makes Tempers Fray stand out is just how busy and fluid their songwriting is. The band squeeze a lot into songs that rarely exceed 3 minutes, and the 7 tunes on 'Life Slap' lurch from riff to chunky riff, barely giving the listener time to pause for breath and leading to a rich experience sure to invite repeated listens. While clearly wearing their influences on their sleeves, the band deliver plenty of personality and conviction in their songwriting and delivery, to carve out their own space and identity in an oversubscribed genre. Groovy and metallic heavy Hardcore from London, for fans of Lifeless, Providence, True Valiance etc. Album Tracks 1. Gainsay 2. Wasteman 3. Lockup 4. Life Slap 5. My Mind 6. Undone 7. Hindsight

Tristan Douglas returns to Planet Mu with his third Antwood album, the epic Delphi.Tristan has always used conceptual frameworks to facilitate the writing process and Delphi is no exception. This time Tristan worked with his girlfriend Olivia Dreisinger to develop a fictional character the young lovelorn Delphi. She is represented throughout by a recurring melody, with the album developing the story around her. Deeper than this however, Delphi represents the hurdles faced by modern lovers, and those felt personally by Tristan, as the album encompasses a wide range of his emotions. The character Delphi finds solace in escaping to a place, her namesake, the ancient Greek city. She gets lost in her fantasy, realising it is not as she had idealised. InchOlivia and I started making the album cover as soon as I knew what direction Delphi was headed in. I took objects that had significance to me at the time of production and physically recreated them as InchDelphi worldInch objects, so that the albums narrative and each track are represented in the cover photo. If you flip the album over, there is a computer rendering by Paulin Rogues of the two landmarks in the ancient city of Delphi - not quite ancient or modern Delphi, somehow real life but also fantastical.Inch Delphi is an album where the real and the fantastic combine, where functional club music meets evocative piano miniatures. InchI ended up working on Delphi for over a year, where it developed and grew in parallel to my own life. It became story-like, and I embraced the story-like quality of it.Inch Perhaps the story of Delphi is the story of our own lives.

HYbr ID Vol. 1 is the first installment of a new series of Alva Noto's works bringing together heterogeneous composition methods. HYbr ID Vol. 1 captures the music commissioned for the score of 'Oval', the choreographic piece directed by Richard Siegal and performed by the Staatsballett Berlin at the Berlin State Opera in 2019. The process of creating HYbr ID Vol. 1 was defined by the search for a form to bind astrophysics phenomena, fiction, and performance movements. It's narrative is inspired by cinematic visual techniques and static images portraying scientific events which also inspired the titles of the nine compositions. The music possesses a dilated rhythmic base contributing to the images of gravity and spatiality. At points static is used with an ornate, delicate intricacy. The album's sonic spectrum builds with deep sub-bass, gloomy sonics, spacious sound design, and inorganic ambiance that is gently coerced with artistic finesse. Album Tracks 1.
