Frigidaire - 22 Pint Energy Star Certified Smart Dehumidifier with 3.4 Qt Bucket Capacity - White

Hello there, JoeB! Yes, the behavior you're seeing can be normal. For the Frigidaire 22-pint/1,500-sq.-ft. dehumidifier, the manual says the display shows the actual room relative humidity (RH) after the humidity setting is made. Put a separate digital hygrometer next to the dehumidifier, ideally several feet away from its air outlet. Let both sit for 30–60 minutes without moving them, then compare readings. If the Frigidaire consistently differs from a good-quality hygrometer by 10% or more, or its reading jumps dramatically while the room conditions are stable, that would be more suggestive of a sensor/calibration problem. Bottom line: The Frigidaire is measuring RH electronically with a sensor located in the appliance. An 8–11 percentage-point increase shortly after shutdown can be caused by the air around the sensor equilibrating with the rest of the room and isn't, by itself, evidence that the dehumidifier is malfunctioning. - Maico

Hi Nordic! Thank you for reaching out. The Frigidaire 22 Pint Dehumidifier model FHDD2233Y1 operates with a total electrical draw of 3.9 Amps and 250 Watts at 115 Volts. Frigidaire provides a single unified electrical rating for the unit, without separate power draw figures for individual modes or fan speeds. We hope this helps! - Patrick
