Q: When do you anticipate this item to be in stock?
A: I will answer my own question. I got notifications saying I could preorder this item. However, Bestbuy's website gives no such option. Went to the store yesterday (3/2) and found a rep who said I couldn't preorder. Talked to another rep, who logged into a different ordering system and said I could order with an ETA of March 12. In short, customers appear to be an afterthought at BestBuy and workers seem ill-equipped/trained to help.
A: When I was searching for NVIDIA FE 4090, the store employee said I should signup for the PLUS membership and that will allow me to access special buy events for hard to find items. Knew it was fluff talk. So glad I did not signup. BB doesn't really offer any members special access to hard to find products like this one. You just have to keep refreshing and hope that you are 0.00001s faster than all the bots that buy it and sell on eBay for $2500
Q: What time on the 28th will this product go live on the site?
A: That's a good question. I've been waiting as well. It went from coming soon to "Sold Out" after midnight. The weird thing is, I didn't even get an email notification that it was available. I'm still gonna keep checking, but my feeling is that they never had stock to begin with.
A: Yes, this is the soon-to-be-released update to the Fujifilm X100V.
Q: Hi! Do any of the employees know when this camera will be back in stock?
A: I had a friend tell me that no Best Buy’s have it at the moment. I did some research of my own and it found that FUJIFILM moved their factories to Japan so that’s slowing down their manufacturing. It will also be tuff since the tariffs.
Q: Will this camera be coming soon online or in stores?
A: undefined
Q: When it open to pre-order again?
A: undefined
Q: No zoom? What have instead?
A: undefined

It’s a great camera, I took it on a trip to Italy and took amazing pictures. Significantly better quality than iPhone 15 Pro. Small, beautiful design and powerful.

The VI fixes a lot of the stuff people complained about with the previous versions—sluggish operation, middling build, no IBIS, smaller sensor, lens showing its age. Now you’ve got a 40MP sensor (same one as the X-T5/T50), in-body stabilization, and a faster processor, so on paper it’s finally caught up with the rest of Fuji’s lineup. The hybrid OVF/EVF is still here and still fun, and the leaf shutter plus built-in ND means you can sync flash in broad daylight at crazy shutter speeds without messing with HSS. It’s a slick little package—even pros could use it as a backup. That said, the TikTok factor has absolutely overcooked the hype. It’s been turned into this holy grail “it’ll make you a photographer” object, which, of course, it won’t. For a huge chunk of buyers, it’s less about actually using the thing and more about the aesthetic of owning it. Which is a shame… but then again, society’s been disappointing me for as long as I’ve been around, so this isn’t exactly a plot twist. A few reality checks: the lens is still the same 23mm f/2 optical design from the X100V. It’s fine, but it’s not magically sharper just because the sensor is higher-res, and the focus motor isn’t exactly snappy. The much-touted subject detection AF works, but the lens’ speed means it’s not a sports or action camera. Weather sealing? Still requires buying the adapter ring + filter. Video specs look good on the box (6.2K, 4K/60, 10-bit), but rolling shutter and thermal limits mean it’s not a video workhorse. Battery life is basically the same as before—fine for casual use, but not endless. Build feels solid, but long-term users have reported cosmetic wear (eyepiece rubber, hot shoe paint) if you’re hard on your gear. It’s also still a single UHS-I card slot, single 2.5mm mic jack (headphones only via USB-C dongle), so not a serious video rig. Price? MSRP in the US is now $1,799 after the tariff-driven bump, and availability’s still patchy. Paying scalper prices north of $2K is insanity when you could buy an X-T5, X-T50, or X-E5 and a great 23mm lens for the same money—or less—and get better AF, dual slots (on the T5), more flexibility, and zero hype tax. If you’re buying it because you love shooting with it—the handling, the OVF, the leaf shutter, the colors—then great, you’ll probably be happy. If you’re buying it because TikTok told you it’s the answer to your creative problems, prepare to be underwhelmed.
