We just purchased this for our travels and so glad that we did. This unit is very easy to use - in addition, we were able to easily find the next gas station(s) and places to eat in addition to lodging options. No need to use phone to search and worry about phone signal. This definitely was a BEST BUY for us! Highly recommended.

This gps works well, no internet needed but allows you to connect to internet and update the maps which is neat.

I bought this because I bought my original Garmin 53 in 2017. Both the old and the new have outdated maps. I was disappointed that the new 53 didn't have an updated map. When I needed to go 270N, the old 53 would have me turn right at 161W/270S and then cross over two lanes to get to 270N. This is DANGEROUS because, not only is the driver merging into traffic, but they would also need to cross two lanes in about 50 yards while other cars are traveling at 70+mph. When I use a different navigation system, it takes me on a different route that is safer. I do not like that system, so I decided to buy an "updated" newer model 53. After I bought the new 53, I checked for updates. The newer model has a the power button on the back instead of the top, the input functionality is fingers, the old one I could type with my fingernails. It takes a long time to bring the map and directions up after inputting an address or location. The attached map shows the route in pink, but the line is so thick that it does not show that I have drive down 270S and then try to get to 270. I missed getting onto 270N one time because the traffic already on 270S is going 70mph and there was no way, I could both merge AND cross two traffic lanes to get to 270N. The map with the black background is from the navigation software that I do not like.

Product has been good so far just dont let it sit too long in the heat.i bought 2 of them and they both have done this.

Great GPS to use for the road to travel the USA! Takes me to my destinations.

Our children have dumb phones, so providing them with a tool that helps them navigate without other access to the internet was our goal. The Garmin Drive 53 is perfect. It was a little slow finding out location when I first turned it on, but once I updated the software it has been great. It does not hold power unless it is plugged in, so that is a negative, but that also keeps it tethered to the car so it doesn't get lost or dropped under the seat.

This product works great and it is small enough whereby it doesn't take up too much room. It is a great addition to my car and it produces accurate directions.

This is a "no frills" GPS that does exactly what I want, provide clear, prompt navigation. A great feature is allowing a user to put in a preferred route. This is great since that route can be more scenic than the fastest way. Another nice feature is listing stops along the way for gas, food, or rest stops. Updating maps is easy, the display is excellent, and the device boots up quickly.

Purchased the Drive 53, after my Nuvi 50 finally gave up the ghost after many years. The price point was extremely reasonable. I don't need more bells and whistles. The Drive 53 was easy enough to set up etc, though I did take another reviewer's advice and charged in my car when it wasn't happening very quickly via USB. I am happy with my purchase. Downloaded and read the manual to get some quick answers re: set up of new addresses and settings for this model. Not a huge investment in time to once again have a reliable partner in my car. The maps updated very quickly via the Garmin site.

It holds power for 1 hour on it's own battery. You don't need memory card. It's internal memory is more than enough. Have used it for my recent tour. Thank you best buy .

The Garmin is so easy to operate. Since I am tech challenged it gets me to where I need to go easily. Good product

I haven't used it but plan it using it for travel - it's smaller than my 7" but that means it'll be easier to pack. It's a backup to the phone. Depending on the rental car, it might not be CARPLAY friendly or have an available screen. It will depend on a cigarette lighter plug in but supposedly can run an hour charged up. This also doesn't have live traffic, which i can use Phone's WAZE for that.

This product works great. It is easy to operate. It doesn't hold a charge very long when disconnected fro the power source though but i am happy with it's functions. Its easy to use.

We were surprised how easy it was to use. It gives accurate directions and we are enjoying all it's features.

So far so good. Have only used once since purchasing and worked good. At our age we are used to using PAPER MAPS!!! Still admit I would appreciate a paper map (I like the advantage of looking ahead to see where exactly I need to change route).
