This has made a huge difference to my place.. currently living in a converted living space where the humidity was horrible, always around 75-83% and it made the place feel way colder than it was… but since buying this, my place is around 36-45% humidity.. I do have it set to smart mode so it can start and shut off when it needs too.. I’ve only had it ever turn off when the water catcher gets full. This unit (atleast in my place) gets nearly full in around 24 hours so I do have to empty it daily but I don’t mind.. it still impresses me dumping out all the water and knowing that it’s no longer in the air.. this unit is well worth the cost, even though I thought it was high at the start, I would definitely recommend. Using this in around a 300sqft place and it’s made the quality of living improve greatly.

Works really well and I appreciate the humidistat option to fine tune humidity levels. The body panels on this unit vibrate constantly when it’s running which is quite loud so I would not use this in a room where you need to hear anything other than the dehumidifier.

I have a lot of windows in the living area and the morning seems to have high humidity. I was very impressed by this machines ability to pull the water right out of the air. It's not very quiet. But quite enough where it doesn't bother us while asleep.

I’m very satisfied with this product. My home smells much better, and there’s no humidity at all.

Worked well for 3 months but now I kept getting the E6 error code. GE said there is no fixing it. I will have to buy a new one. Buyer beware.
PeterC Posted
Didn’t last 90 days. E6 error code started showing up after 60 days. Did a hard reset and it operated for a day or two before the E6 code returned. Then it wouldn’t cycle to dehumidify, just the fan running constantly. Best Buy was no help because it was past their short return period so STILL trying to get replacement issue resolved with GE. Steer clear of this unit and beware of GE “Good Will” certificates

Two of these dehumidifiers died in 6 months (second one in 7 weeks). Stay far away from GE, it’s more expensive and does not last that long. I was saved by Best Buy total tech as other reviews mentioned GE’s warranty gives you the run around. Had the E6 error pictured that many others have dealt with.

Used this product for only 7 months before the error code came up for the first time. Troubleshooting helped clear the code but unit would still not work properly. GE Manufacturer warranty is a joke as they take 6-8 weeks to reimburse you in the form of a check AFTER you purchase the same unit with your own money.

We have tried many different brands of dehumidifiers and this one by GE is, by far, the best we’ve had. It is quiet and extremely efficient, shutting off when it reaches the desired humidity level, then turning on automatically when that level gets too high. It is on wheels and hooks up easily to a drain hose for easy water dispensing to our drain. We are VERY pleased with this unit.

I have never used a dehumidifier before purchasing this one. I definitely noticed a huge difference when I have this turned on. I use it in my garage because there is no proper ventilation. I didn’t realize how much moisture was trapped in my garage. But before I would see moisture on the windows. This prevents it. I appreciate how easy it is to use. Because I didn’t want anything complicated or a unit I had to cut holes in the wall for.

This is an great dehumidifier. You can set the low humidity you want in the house and it will work accordingly. It will let you know when it is full. It's very quiet. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because of the slight awkwardness in removing the water collection bin when it is full. There is a handle on the bin but it seems a little dicey when the bin is heavy. Just remember to pull the bin out and support it underneath.

This works great. We have humidity issues in our basement and this is the first summer we have not had any concerns. It is easy to drain and not too loud. This is a great product.

So far works great, not noisy. Hopefully it would last for few years. My last Dehumidifier from GE stopped pulling water in two years, motor kept running but didn’t do its job.

So far so good. Quiet, efficient….pulls plenty of moisture from the basement. My only concern is should I drop the collection receptacle it will crack for sure. It should be made of a durable plastic.

1) Terrible bucket design makes it extremely difficult to remove without a lot of effort. I've gone through a lot of different dehumidifiers and this is the first one where I couldn't easily get the bucket out including older models w/o handles. 2) The fan is on the top of the unit instead of on the front panel so you cannot rest anything on top of the unit nor place it under a shelf. It'd also so be nice to have air blowing towards the wet floor instead of the ceiling. -- It is effective at taking moisture out of the air. The full light keeps flashing even if the unit is manually powered off. You have to empty the bucket and reposition it to turn the light off so you cannot let the bucket dry out on its own. Note, no quality brand dehumidifier seems to last more than 3 years. My LG stopped working which is why I bought this.

Definite improvement over my previous dehumidifier (Hisense). This has a large tank while being the same overall size, so less frequent emptying. Noise level - definitely not quiet but not awful. Not much difference in noise level between low and high settings. The full alarm is able to be heard but not obnoxious. I like the Smart feature. The air it puts out is also not as hot as my previous one. It still feels warm on a hot day, but isn't too bad. I need to run a dehumidifier when air conditioning isn't needed for temperature control, but it would be nice if I could find one didn't blow out hotter air than the room. Lost a star for noise and warm air, but pleased overall.

It is a fine and effective product, but has some physical design shortcomings. Our old dehumidifier had a handle indentation on the front of the bucket for easy removal. This one does not and I didn’t realize how inconvenient its absence would be. You have to remove the bucket by grabbing on both sides and it’s easier to spill water. Still possible to remove the full bucket but much less convenient. Of course, if you will be using the drain in the back and connecting a hose, the lack of a front bucket handle will not be a factor.
