Gene Clark - No Other - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Gene Clark TITLE No Other (Deluxe 2xCD) Gene Clark's 1974 masterpiece gets the reappraisal it's long overdue. On the eve of what would have been American singer-songwriter and Byrds founding member Gene Clark's 75th birthday comes the reissue of one of his finest works, No Other. Released in 1974 on Asylum Records, a year after the Byrds short- lived reunion, Gene reached for the stars with No Other; a psychedelic rock, folk, country and soul record that famously cost a small fortune to make. Although received warmly by critics, it flopped and was soon deleted, a failure Gene never came to terms with. However, as The New York Times wrote around the record's 40th anniversary in 2014, Inchhindsight has burnished No Other, as it has redeemed other albums that went on to be reconstructed as rock repertory, like Big Star's Third/Sister Lovers and Lou Reed's Berlin,Inch with the album now being increasingly recognized as one of the greatest of it's time, if not all time. 45 years on and recently remastered at Abbey Road, 4AD are giving No Other the reappraisal it deserves. The original eight track album is being released in a limited run double CD edition in a hardbound book cover is also coming which includes a bonus disc of alternate studio versions of each track plus a recording of InchTrain Leaves Here This MorningInch (an Eagles hit in 1972, written by Gene and Eagles founding member Bernie Leadon). InchOne of the greatest albums ever made. Initially celebrated for it's obscurity, No Other is now celebrated for it's magnificence. It was in every way a magnum opus epic, sprawling, poetic, choral, rococo.Inch Album Tracks 1. Life's Greatest Fool 2. From a Silver Phial 3. Silver Raven 4. Some Misunderstanding 5. No Other 6. The True One 7. Strength of Strings 8. Lady of the North 1. From a Silver Phial (Version 4) 2. Silver Raven (Version 2) 3.

It's been a while since we've heard from Tera Melos. Four years to be exact. And, oh my, are they back with a vengeance. Trash Generator, the trio's third full length, is an astonishing blast of confidence and rejuvenation. It sounds as if the downtime has recharged the band with an entirely new sense of purpose. The performances are brilliant and sharp, the songs concise yet intricately detailed, and the album production deftly captures the band's strength as a live unit. Their dalliances with mellower psychedelic phrases on their previous two albums, X'ed Out (2013) and Patagonian Rats (2010) are significantly trimmed and instead utilized as colorations within a swirling maelstrom of righteous aggro punk-jazz abandon. As such, it sounds like Tera Melos has fully metabolized their pop tendencies and found a way they can coexist with the band's iconoclast origins. Album Tracks 1. System Preferences 2. Your Friends 3. Trash Generator 4. Warpless Run 5. Dyer LN 6. Gr30A11 7. Men's Shirt 8. Don't Say I Know 9. A Universal Gonk 10. Like a Dewclaw 11. Drawing 12. Super FX
