About this product

With these concerts, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig embarks on a musical journey to the Czech Republic in memory of it's former conductor Václav Neumann. It was there that Jan Václav Voríšek was born in 1791, the year of Mozart's death, and was taken away from it by pulmonary tuberculosis at the same age as Mozart, only 34 years old. The manuscript of his D Major Symphony shares the fate of the symphonies of his friend and companion Franz Schubert and was neither printed nor performed during his lifetime. In the meantime, however, it has become his most frequently performed work! A short, late and rare happy chapter of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's moving biography is set in the capital of the Czech Republic. When he arrived in Prague in January 1787, he was quite astonished That his music met with such great enthusiasm was by no means a matter of course for Mozart. Looking back, he will describe his successes in Prague as the most beautiful moments of his life. The D Major Symphony K. 504 was premiered in Prague and opens the group of Mozart's last four symphonies. Album Tracks 1. Symphony No. 38 in D Major, K. 504 InchPragueInch 2. Symphony in D Major, Op. 23

Various Artists - Rebelles Portraits Lyriques - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Variety of subject and era give German-Chilean soprano Josefine Göhmann a stylistic range stretching from the late Renaissance through Mozart, Strauss and Messiaen to contemporary music, forming the core of her artistic endeavor. In duo with pianist Mario Häring, Josefine Göhmann presents her debut album in co-production with Deutschlandfunk under the title InchréBelles! Portraits lyriquesInch on the topic of female empowerment and 100 years of the movement for women's rights. In planning this program, the artist took her cue from postcards of museum visits The paintings say a lot about how women were seen in the 20th century and how women saw themselves in self-portraits (e.g. by Frida Kahlo, Paula Modersohn-Becker, Anita Rée). She has developed the idea that if song and painting are set in analogue, the album could correspond to a visit to a museum. There are four different rooms. The first is Vierge with representations of virginity in the context of the biblical testament. Then there is the second room on the Sirène type of woman, which is more about ethereal femininity. In Héroïne, the woman is primarily portrayed as a heroine. And finally, Ophélie is dedicated to the literary Shakespearean figure, which stands on it's own but also combines the aspects of Vierge, Sirène and Héroïne. This album is an aesthetic offering for the discourse on femininity, on being a woman today and for a hundred years. In addition, the artist's very personal feelings play a role in which pieces are combined in which way. Josefine Göhmann wanted to look not only at texts, works and interpretations by women, but at our cultural heritage. Album Tracks 1. La Vierge de Cluny - Chant D'une Femme 2. Priere - Extract of InchJudithInch 3. Schenk Mir Deinen Goldenen Kamm, Op. 2 No. 2 4. Clairieres Dans Le Ciel - V. InchAu Pied de Mon LitInch 5. Chant D'ariel - Extract of InchLa T
