I am EXTREMELY HAPPY! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I purchase this chainsaw on sale out of desperation. A three grew behind the garage and it started bending the gutter. My garge has this huge mountain behing. Two years ago, I had already had a huge three cut down also on the side of the garage, where they had access and I was charged $800. I was not looking into quotes and the $$$$$. Although this one three is not as big, I encourage myself to do it. This is how I ended up with this powerful but very easy and manageable tool. I looked up the videos from the company to properly set it un and learn how to use it, because I never had used a chainsaw before. And to my surprise my concerns went away very quickly. I am a 52 years young female to put in perspective. Oh, I also got a FREE additional bettery. WOW extras! LOVE it. The battery that came with the chain saw is bigger and it did charge within 60 minutes. The only additional thing you need to purchase is the bar and chain oil, because it is not included… that would have been nice. If you are tring to decide .. don’t think about it twice, specially if you have lots of growing trees in your property and dont want to keep paying others. I paid $279 plus tax and the job I did today already paid off compare to hiering someone. Lastly, I felt very safe using this tool, I was intimidated prior purchase, but out of desperation as mention I went for it. BEST decision I made.

Best Buy beat xmas prices. 266.00 came with extra 2.0 battery. We are over 60, no pull starting, no mixing. No more cutting than i am doing, 1/4 cord, 2.0 makes job lighter. Has 4.0 battery, thus twice the work. I use the 4.0 for downed trees, and 2.0 battery for the other curs. I have a Rancher 450 18 in bar. It can wear you out. The wife uses the 80v on small 4 in with no problem. Less than a month old, charging is fast. You cant over charge either.

Works as good as my gas powered chainsaw. This battery operated saw is very convenient as I use a chain saw once in a while and I no longer have to buy 2 stroke gas, try to start the saw after a few months, etc., now I just stick in the battery and go.

Cuts great, just as good as any other gas powered chain saw I’ve owned. I don’t own a landscaping company any more so I don’t need a saw as frequently this one being electric is convenient because I just have to make sure the battery is charged and only have to store bar oil.

This our second purchase of this saw. The battery length of time is great. It does a great job!

This thing is amazing, great power, light weight and just does a fantastic job. Can fall bigger trees up to 12 inches easily. Would definitely recommend for anyone needing some serious cutting power.

Hello MarkS. Thank you for sharing your experience with the Greenworks 80V 16" Chainsaw. We are glad to hear the tool and battery performed well, but we are sorry the chain dulled quickly.
Chains can dull faster depending on the type of wood, moisture content, and cutting technique. Using the tool on harder or knotty wood, cutting at the wrong angle, or not maintaining proper chain tension can shorten chain life. We recommend regularly checking chain sharpness and tension, and using a file or sharpening tool as needed. Replacement chains are also available if the chain becomes too worn.
We recommend watching the following video, which may help resolve the problem assembly and operator guide: (https://youtu.be/WJOGDpSPzJM). Replacing the tensioner (https://youtu.be/ONIutza9PfM). We hope you will find this information useful. If you require any additional support or have questions regarding a product, we recommend try our Q&A section on product's page or Chat with us direct on our website www.greenworkstools.com.

The saw and battery combination was a very good buy. It functions as good, as my 039 gasoline chain saw, maybe even better and very much quicker.

This is a wonderful tool. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 was because it’s much heavier than expected.

Four cuts in and the chain jumps the bar. I struggled for days trying to get the chain back on. I used the tools provided, followed the official YouTube channel tutorial, let another more experienced logger attempt to put the chain back on and every single attempt failed. We did not have the clearance to put the bar back in place with the bar lock all the way loose. I have no idea how the chain came off from a design like this, because it sure doesn't go back on.

Hello SteelValor. Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
Kickback is a known risk when operating any chainsaw and typically occurs when the tip of the guide bar contacts an object or when the chain becomes pinched during a cut. This can result in a sudden movement of the saw back toward the operator, which is why it's so important to always maintain a firm two-handed grip and follow proper cutting techniques.
While our chainsaws are equipped with safety features designed to reduce the risk of kickback, operator awareness and correct handling remain critical. We encourage all users to review the safety guidelines provided in the user manual before use. We have included a video for your reference that may assist you if you experience any challenges. It offers a step-by-step guide to install and tension the bar and chain, you can watch the video here. (https://youtu.be/wfWUl1pfXm0).
If you have any questions about safe operation or would like assistance reviewing best practices, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team via Live Chat on our website or by calling 1-888-909-6757. Your safety and satisfaction are very important to us.

I was astounded by how well it works. I thought that I would sacrifice power, but it really does work great! Make sure that you buy some extra batteries!
