A: Yes, I believe this would make a great office chair.
A: Yes...assembly is required. However assembly is easy, but recommend two people work together for this process.
Q: How does the foot rest work? Like a recliner?
A: In a way, I suppose the foot rest 'could' be used like a recliner, depending on how tall or how long a person's legs are. One would have to use the 'lean back' feature to comfortably use the foot rest, imho.
A: Not sure never looked for ours is on carpet. Son plays driving games and has no problems.
