Vinyl LP pressing. Meg Duffy grew up in a small town in Upstate New York and cut her teeth as a session guitarist and touring member of Kevin Morby's band. The Hand Habits project emerged after Meg moved to Los Angeles; it started as a private songwriting outlet but soon evolved into a fully-fledged band with Meg at the helm. Hand Habits' debut album, Wildly Idle was entirely self-produced and recorded in Meg's home during spare moments when they weren't touring. Wildly Idle is a rich, homespun collection of folk songs that found Meg in an exploratory state as an artist moving out on their own for the first time. Album Tracks 1. Placeholder 2. Can't Calm Down 3. Pacify 4. Jessica 5. Yr Heart [Reprise] 6. Heat 1. Are You Serious? 2. Wildfire 3. What's the Use 4. Guardrail/Pwrline 5. What Lovers Do 6. The Book on How to Change Part II

Vinyl LP pressing. 2023 . Inspired by month-long songwriting class Duffy taught in the summer of 2021, they re-discovered, with newfound clarity, the generative capacity of embracing the unknown, and how essential collaboration and improvisation are for accessing the indescribable. Working with Luke Temple (Here We Go Magic, Art Feynman) and Philip Weinrobe (Adrienne Lenker, Cass McCombs), Duffy surrendered to the present moment, trusting that whatever sounds and words emerged were meant to emerge. With additional production, engineering and arranging from Jeremy Harris, Duffy created something which, in their words, Inchturned out nothing like I'd imagined it would.Inch The result of this collective experiment, born equally from play and intention, is a radical gift for listeners proof that our most vital processes, creation and destruction, are exquisitely entangled. The unanswerable and untenable suffering of experience is the fact of perpetual loss. And, yet, there is precious, vivid magic created by this condition. In Sugar the Bruise, grief folds in on itself and becomes laughter; language fades away into sonic expanses of the inexpressible; melodies melt into cacophonies; love songs surrender to loss; historic violence is supplanted by the disks of sunlight. Album Tracks 1. Something Wrong 2. Gift of the Human Curse 3. Andy in Stereo 4. Private Life 5. The Book on How to Change Part 3 6. Bust of Nefertiti
