Harry Manx - Jubilee - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

A reawakening for the Swedish visionaries, Sincere solidifies their impressive trajectory in a fuzzed out haze of dark and arresting shoegaze pop. An expansive trip through noisier, bittersweet pop realms that recalls My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Deerhunter.Underpinning everything there's a continuing sense of drama throughout; richly textured crescendos, chiming guitars and delicate melodies are guided by Caroline Landahl's tender yet sharpened vocals. Sincere is joyously effervescent, but with a dark underbelly where fury manifests in a swirl of entrancing and propulsive percussion.A gorgeous and dazzling piece of aching romanticism, destined to feature on a thousand mixtapes.Recorded last year in Malmo, Hater welcomed two new band members and those early day sparks saw them quickly turning demos into fully-formed new songs that appear on the record. Sincere was produced by long-time collaborator Joakim Lindberg and was mixed and mastered by John Cornfield, whose credits include Ride, The Stone Roses and Robert Plant.InchOne of the best bands in the worldInch Gorilla vs BearInchYour next Scandinavian indie pop obsession.Inch FloodInchStunningInch StereogumSide AA1 SomethingA2 I'm Yours BabyA3 Bad LuckA4 Proven WrongSide BB1 Brave BloodB2 Far From A MindB3 Summer Turns to HeartburnB4 Renew, RejectB5 Hopes High Album Tracks 1. Horrorful Heights marks a formidable new chapter in The Bevis Frondas deep and storied catalogue, showcasing the enduring creativity of songwriter, guitarist and frontman Nick Saloman as he moves into yet another decade of recording. Long established as one of the most distinctive voices in British underground rock, Saloman continues to refine the bandas signature blend of melodic psychedelia, wiry guitar epics and sharp, emotionally attuned songwriting. Horrorful Heights offers one of the most approachable entry points to the bandas world in years a record that gathers their core strengths into a cohesive, vivid set. Recorded with long-time drummer Dave Pearce and guitarist Paul Simmons, alongside new bassist Louis Wiggett, the album moves fluidly between jangling psych-pop, heavy-lit guitar workouts and pastoral comedown reveries. Wiggett also brings a surprising new colour to the Frond palette, contributing pedal steel to aœBest Laid Plansa and aœMomma Bear, a recalling early-70s country-tinged British rock from Bronco or Cochise. Though unmistakably eclectic, Horrorful Heights presents a focused portrait of The Bevis Frond in 2025 - vital, tuneful and unburdened by nostalgia. Saloman describes the collection simply the best songs head written in recent years, arriving unforced and instinctive. The result is a late-period peak from one of Britainas most quietly influential underground bands. Album Tracks 1. A Mess of Stress 2. Horrorful Heights 3. Best Laid Plans 4.
