I remember watching this when I was a kid and when my 19 year old son was young. Now I am watching it with my great niece and great nephew. Classic cartoons never go out of style. Great story and entertaining!

I love the Rankin Bass holiday specials and this one is a family favorite. The songs, story and signature Rankin Bass animation make this a treasured Easter classic. Highly recommended.

If you try to show a kid today this video, they will most likely not watch it. The camera barely moves, the cuts are long and leisurely, the animation is jerky and choppy. The characters speak as we did fifty years ago and not everything they say or do will be perceived nicely by modern sensibilities. And - honestly - who cares? This is a classic work and while it hasn’t aged as well as for those of us who saw it during original broadcasts, it’s still a classic. I have spent my entire life trying to become an Easter egg master and peel my eggs they way they do in the film. I’m still trying. There’s none of the dark religious content often found in the ranks bass Christmas films (Nestor, drummer boy). This is a more light hearted romp through the fantasy of Easter: spring, chocolate, finding colored eggs, etc. If you have young kids, Make sure to balance their Viewing diet with things like this. Gentle, classic and quaint material. I guess you either love it or you don’t, and I do. It’s like in the story of the velveteen rabbit. On the outside, one might be ugly, worn and tattered. But if someone loves you enough you become real and your true inner beauty shines through. Great metaphor Illustrating how I feel. I grew up watching the rankin bass films, and they define the holidays for me...they make them real. And nothing else matters. I hope you can enjoy them as I do!

Should have won an Oscar. Casey Kasem's performance was spell-binding. His portrayal of Peter Cotton Tail was so convincing, I often felt as if this wasn't just an actor playing out his part, but an actor who believed he truly was a giant rabbit that hid eggs and delivered baskets of candy to the children of the world. He pulled me into his world and allowed me to experience all the torment, anguish, frustration, and, finally, exhilaration Peter Cottontail must have went through on his journey to reclaim his rightful vocation as the Easter Bunny. Filled with stunning animation and voiced by such talents as Vincent Price and the aforementioned Casey Kasem, "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" is sure to wow audiences young and old for years to come. An instant classic.

We bought this for our youngest child who enjoyed the old film a lot. It's tough to find this on tv these days, so it was worth the inexpensive purchase.
