About this product
With their seventh full-length InchNocturneInch, Hexvessel explore the liminal spaces between light and darkness, nature and solitude on an epic album. The ever evolving and shifting Finnish band has reawakened their treasured roots in folk music and psychedelic rock as they artfully weave acoustic interludes, cosmic synths, and spectral piano into the frost-spun threads on their black metal loom. InchNocturneInch sounds both familiar and fearlessly progressive as echoes of tradition entwine with a fresh reinvention of their characteristic sound. The seed of this masterpiece was sown by the performance of a commissioned work at Roadburn Festival 2024 that was originally entitled InchMusic for Gloaming A NocturneInch. With this album, it arrives fully fleshed in recorded form. This opus magnum blends the raw spirit of Quorthon's black metal with the intricate minimalism of contemporary composers such as Philip Glass, György Ligeti, and Avro Pärt. It's eclectic nature is elevated and underlined by select guest performances, including the vocals of Saara Nevalainen, as well as the avant-garde black metal luminaries Yusaf Vicotnik Parvez (DHG/DØDHEIMSGARD), and ORANSSI PAZUZU's Juho Vanhanen. While Hexvessel are based in Tampere, Finland, they were founded by English singer & songwriter Kvohst aka Mat McNerney after he moved to the country in 2009. With their last / debut album Paradox, Nocturnus founder / sci-fi death metal godfather Mike Browning (also original Morbid Angel co-founder) would resurrect Nocturnus lore under it's new alteration Nocturnus AD, giving Browning the opportunity to finally continue the mythos that came before with the legendary album The Key, almost thirty years after it's -one of the most influential death metal albums of all time. The result being Paradox-the proper follow-up to The Key (musically and thematically)-where the story of Dr. Magus would finally see it's sequel. The new Nocturnus AD album Unicursal sees Browning, along with guitarists Belial Koblak and Demian Heftel, keyboardist Josh Holdren, and new bassist Kyle Sokol (bass on Unicursal was performed by now-ex bassist Daniel Tucker), continue the journey of Dr. Magus following the events of Paradox. Now armed with his bio suit, Dr. Magus is sent on a mission to traverse through the Spheres of the Kabbalistic Tree Of Life to conquer each sphere and collect it's respective sigil / symbol. Unicursal will see Dr. Magus specifically travel to Malkuth, Yesod, Hod, and Netzach, the Tree's lower realm, it's roots-the story of Dr. Magus is featured on the album's second half, where the album's first half will continue to explore ancient occult themes and mysteries from the unknown, separate from Dr. Magus' story.Unicursal is not only one of the most ambitious undertakings Browning has been involved with, but it is a formidable display of progressive occult metal wizardry that manifests Nocturnus AD as one of the most singular forces in extreme metal today; there truly is no other entity akin and Unicursal is another monolith that honours and continues the tradition and lore laid down with The Key and continued with Paradox. With blistering guitar manifestations courtesy of Koblak and Heftel, Holdren's grand and epic synth passag

With their fourth album InchCosmocratorInch, Khnvm are entering a downward spiral into the abyss of the human experience. The death metal brainiacs explore the crossroads of psychology, philosophy, and spirituality. The album title InchCosmocratorInch carries a dual significance. It symbolises the InchRuler of the WorldInch and, within religious vocabulary, also stands for InchSatanInch. This reflects the album's exploration of common phenomena, expressed through an adrenaline-fueled artistic lens. With the thought-provoking lyrics and harsh yet to the point musicality of InchCosmocratorInch, Khnvm promise not to just deliver on musical terms but also to captivate those who are drawn to complex narratives and philosophical depth. Khnvm are a death metal band that has walked the line between old school death metal and contemporary influences without stumbling. Fronted by Bangladeshi-born guitarist and vocalist Obliterator, the band was founded and is firmly based in Germany. When Khnvm entered the scene with their debut album InchForetold Monuments of FleshInch on Testimony Records in 2019, they were immediately met with acclaim both from critics and fans alike. In the wake of the second album, InchPortals to OblivionInch (2021), Khnvm began to perform live. Meanwhile, Khnvm have toured, entered stages at many festivals, and played headliner and support shows across Europe. With InchCosmocratorInch, Khnvm offer a dual approach The easy way is to enjoy the album simply for it's outstanding musical merit. Yet there is also the far more winding path to take with it's intricate lyrics and rich thoughts to be analysed, explored, and discussed for many years to come - and new meanings to be found as well as discoveries of fresh ideas to be made with each new turn! Album Tracks 1. Purgatorial Pyre 2. Fetid Eden 3. Mercurial Remnants 4. Fathomless Enigma 5. Cosm
