Customer Ratings & Reviews

First off, I really like this tv. Huge upgrade from my entry-level LG screen from 2021. One of the brightest TVs with the darkest blacks you can buy - and at a great price. Hard to watch anything of lesser quality once you've seen Dolby Vision content on this screen. Great operating system, design/style, sound quality, image processing, color accuracy, etc.... I would sing more praises, but I am heart broken that my product has developed an issue related to an error in manufacturing. You can see the issue & proof of purchase in the pictures attached. This screen has a BGR subpixel layout (so each pixel is comprised of blue, green, & red - in that order). That is important context to know when viewing the "zoomed in" photo of the screen. There is a bothersome black spot in the middle of my screen (doesn't wipe off, pixel refresh doesn't work, etc.) affecting at least 6 separate pixels. I believe this is some sort of debris, rather than a clump of dead pixels, since you can still see parts of the affected pixels shining through the spot (and the shape somewhat changes depending on the angle you're standing at in person). In any case, this tv is far too young and too well taken care of to develop such an issue and it honestly ruins the experience for me. I have owned a ton of monitors and TVs and even my oldest/cheapest products have not developed an issue like this. I have attempted to contact Hisense a few times without any feedback (supposedly have a 100 day satisfaction guarantee and two year warranty). Will update this if they can provide a fix/replacement, but I am not holding my breath. I was unlucky, but had to share my mixed experience. For now, this review stands at 4 stars without recommendation.

The TV has a stunning picture quality with a high contrast ratio, a wide color gamut, and a great local dimming feature that enhances dark scenes. It supports various HDR formats, including Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10, HDR10+ Adaptive, and HLG, so you can enjoy the most realistic and lifelike images from your favorite movies and shows. The TV is extremely bright in both SDR and HDR, and has excellent reflection handling, so it’s suitable for any viewing environment, even outdoors in indirect sunlight. You don’t have to worry about glare or washed-out colors, as the TV can overcome any ambient light. The TV has a sleek and simple design, with a thin metallic frame and a brushed metallic bottom bezel. It comes with two long, thin metal feet that provide a stable base, and has standard VESA screw holes for wall mounting. The TV also has a built-in subwoofer, a far-field microphone array, and Google Assistant indicator lights on the bottom bezel. The TV has a user-friendly Google TV 11 interface, which is an upgraded version of the Android TV interface. It gives you access to a huge selection of apps and streaming services, as well as personalized recommendations based on your preferences and watch history. You can also use the hands-free Google Assistant feature to control the TV with your voice, or use Google Cast or Apple AirPlay to stream content from your mobile devices. The TV has a great selection of gaming features, including HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on two of its HDMI ports and FreeSync variable refresh rate (VRR) support. It also has a low input lag, a fast response time, and a 120Hz refresh rate, so you can enjoy smooth and responsive gaming performance. The TV supports 4K at 120Hz on both HDMI 2.1 ports, as well as eARC, ALLM, and VRR

After some hesitation due to the fact that this is the first Hisense TV I have purchased, I decided to give it a shot based on the specs and online reviews. I am so glad I did! I have a much more expensive Sony and a more expensive LG Oled, but the quality of this Hisense U8H 65 inch, seems to be as good as either of the more expensive sets. The picture is amazing, with the black levels coming oh so close to the Oled, while being much brighter! Only time will tell if it holds up. After the 1st month of ownership, I am super pleased with the purchase and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a great TV for a much lower cost than you would expect to pay for this level of picture and quality. Gaming on play station 5 and Xbox series x looks awesome and no troubles with 4k at 120. I haven't found any negatives to report in the month I have had it. This tv is great, and hits way above its price level! I am happy with my other sets, but super happy with this one, given it looks just as good for much lower cost.

I've had this TV just about 3 weeks. I've been over all very impressed with its picture and even it sound. The brightness, color and contrast are superb. The picture quality is just short of OLED. The TV sound is really good, especially that the TV has a built-in subwoofer. This subwoofer is not going to give you big booming bass, but it does fill in the sound nicely with the small downward firing speakers. Where the TV lacks is with motion. Even though This TV has a 120 HZ display, motion is still jittery and jumpy. Even with motion smoothing enabled it doesn't quite fix the problem, Plus a lot of people don't like the soap opera effect that motion smoothing can cause. If Hisense happens to read this review, I hope this might be something that can be fixed with a firmware update. Overall can I recommend this TV to the average user or sub video file? Yes I can. Can I recommend this TV to sports fans? Maybe not, like I said even with motion smoothing enabled, the picture can still be quite jittery and jumpy. Don't get me wrong it doesn't do it all the time, but when it does it can be annoying. The motion handling is the main reason for the four star review.

Stop wasting your time comparing this to models that are twice the price. Time for contemplation is over. Just buy it. I have owned many LCD/LED TV's over the last ten years. I typically buy one every 2 years to keep up with the technology. I can honestly say the is the least I have spent and the best I have ever had. This is the first TV that I didn't have to "Tweak" to get the best picture. Right out of the box, all I had to do was turn off the motion enhancement feature (which I always do) and it was perfect. YES, the black is black...I mean BLACK BLACK!! You notice this immediately when you launch Netflix and get the bright red "N" against the black background. YES, it's that bright!!! (The main reason I bought it). Every other TV I have owned had the backlight turned to 100%. I hate watching dark movies because you could never see what was going on. Not with this baby! I have it mounted on the wall with a window on the side and behind it. Even with the shades open on a sunny day, I don't need to take it over 50%. The picture quality is amazing as well. The speakers are loud and clear and the bass even has a little boom in it.

By far the best TV for the price. Google menu is easy to use. Features are great, 4k 120hz for xbox series x works flawlessly and the picture quality on this tv is beautiful. I have had plenty of compliments on this and have recommended it to friends that love their's as well. HDMI cec control works perfect with my sony strdn1080 reciever. When not using my sound system the built in speakers and sub sound great themselves. I dont have a single complaint. Dont spend more for the same features, this is the TV you want.

This TV is probably the best bang for the buck. As TVs go the sound is impressive but TVs usually dont have very good sound anymore. It wont replace a sound system but its better than many cheap sound bars. The picture on static images and even movies is usually darn near flawless. But when playing games on switch or xbox Series S there appears to be a dimmer bar a inch or 2 wide running from top to bottom just left of center but its only noticeable when panning left or right and its not always noticeable. You'll see it in Zelda TOTK regularly, and on Quake 2 on Xbox when looking into water. Yet its only noticed when moving not when standing still. Also its not a true 10 bit panel and at times youll notice it when things like fog appear. That said, it does 4k and 120hz and you can deactivate soap opera mode by selecting filmmaker mode when watching films to watch movies in 24 frames as God intended. Menu's are a mixed bag. On one hand there are a lot of options for you to Tinker with, but on the other oftentimes you see an option that it will not let you select. It'll be greyed out and you won't know why. It won't tell you. It's due to something that you have selected but you have to figure that out on your own. This can be frustrating. Sometimes idiot-proofing things isn't always the best just let people have all the options of their fingertips or give them hints as to why you're not letting them select something. Will this TV replace an LG OLED, no. But it is pretty dang good at what it does and I especially at the price.

I bought this as a cheaper option to an Oled tv. Now I know the quality isn’t as good as an oled tv but man it’s is so darn close I couldn’t imagine paying $600 more to see a small improvement and a more dim screen. The detail is and great the menus are fast. It’s very bright and would do well in any bright environment. I have an Apple TV so we don’t really use the built in smart tv for streaming but it is quick and snappy when I go to it occasionally. The sound is pretty good compared to most tvs but honestly a sound bar is better and most people will have one already. Very happy with this tv so far!!!

Firstly, thank you best buy for such an amazing delivery experience. Arrived on time and received timely notifications about the delivery. It's a great TV, probably the best in this price range. I am amazed by it's performance. This is the brightest TV I have ever seen. Mini LED, Dolby vision, HDR.. it has all the top specs at a very low price. Excellent sound quality with subwoofer. No need to buy a sound bar. I would definitely recommend this TV to everyone.

What's GOOD: Extremely bright (too bright for a dark room setting but you can adjust the backlight). Beautiful colors that really pop. Sound quality for an LCD TV almost as good as a sound bar with the built in sub woofer. Blooming is minimal for deep black levels in most viewing circumstances. You can also choose between two widths for the stand legs if you have a narrow TV stand which worked out great for me. The Google TV OS is great from the snappy response to the number of apps you can install. What's NOT SO GOOD: The most annoying thing is the color banding you will see from low Bitrate content (even 4k content). You have to feed this TV with high Bitrate quality content to see the magic it can produce without the banding. I'm sensitive to color banding so I hope hisense can fix it through a firmware update to help smooth out low Bitrate content. I do also see some DSE but luckily it won't show much in normal viewing. You really have to look for it to see it. For the price of this TV I don't think you can go wrong, even with the few negatives. The posted photos may show some blooming but in real life you don't see it. Keep in mind that the back light was set to 60 out of 100 because it can sear your eye balls at times.

Best budget TV ever. 4k 120hz, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, VRR, ALLM, FreeSync, subwoofer!!! Advertised at 1500 maximum nits, it measures at just north of 2000 nits max brightness. Advertised with just north of 500 local dimming zones, it has more like 1600 local dimming zones. For Videophiles this is the budget tv to buy. Hands down best $1000 I have spent on a television!

WOW! This TV is AMAZING! The color is just stunning! The sound is very good as well, never had a TV with a built in subwoofer. Even if this cost more it would be well worth it. I was a little skeptical about buying a TV from a brand I don't know much about but I watched numerous reviews and mostly everything was positive. I'm very happy with my purchase so far and I paid a whole lot less than I was going to. Buy this TV and see for yourself!

I did so much research and waited through 2 cycles of TV releases to get a set with all the features you would want for in 2022 and the U8H is that TV. This is truly the best TV for most people in my opinion. OLED can do a little more but I dont think most people will see the difference for the extra 800-1000 dollars. The U8H has Mini LED - very good Local diming - extremely high brighness - 120 hz - 4K - HDMI 2.1 - E-ARC - clean simple design - great UI and app ecosystem - good settings options to tweak and change the picture to your liking and amazing contrast and color depth. So while some folks will just want oled for its amazing tech and extreme black levles I do not tbink most peopl should pay the extra money. I think most folks should buy this tv and invest the cost savings in a sound bar or new game console and get to enjoying their favorite content on this awesome tv!

TV is a great mid range option for PS5, hits all the needed areas. HDR, 120hz, 4K, HDMI 2.1. The craziest thing about this TV is the built in subwoofer and speakers which are incredible.

Great tv for the money. Tv has alot of features and really nice picture but the sound is fantastic for a tv. Really good picture straight out of the box. I own a lg c1 oled which has a little better picture and motion but costs twice the price, for the money its hard to beat.

BUY!!BUY!!!BUY!!!!....This tv is unreal. You will not find another tv with this type of picture quality for the money. Sony, LG, Samsung....cant touch it. No Cap....I've watched the same videos that best buy plays on all the big name tvs and this Hisense is making their top tier screens look bad. Only bad thing I can possibly say isn't good is the OS system...it takes some getting use to. Trust me...BUY IT!!!!

Love the TV ! It is extremely bright and the blacks can get pretty dark! It has Dolby vision and good built in speakers. We use the built in google tv and love the interface. I have an oled tv and a flagship led tv and this is a perfect in between to those two technologies. This is the best bang for the buck.

I never thought I would ever buy a Hisense tv because I always thought they were trash. To pay $899 which was on sale was crazy to me because it was a Hisense lol. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS TV..gives the Samsung and Sony a run for its money. Glad I bought it.

Beautiful bright true to color picture, exactly as promised by the Best Buy salesperson (Edwin). As good as the "big four" brands and more reasonable price. It fits perfectly with the decor of our house!

TV is very bright, might need calibration, overall picture quality is excellent comparable to the higher cost TV models but you pay less...
