The Hisense 65” Class UR9 Series RGB Mini LED 4K Google TV is nothing less than amazing. This television was chosen to replace an older 65” TV that was starting to show its age and needed to be replaced. I couldn’t go to a smaller one, because I was already use to have such a large viewing area. So, when I got the chance to replace it with this Hisense, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. The stats on this unit are top tier. Now the display on this Hisense is nothing that I have ever experience in a home. This television has some of most vivid imaging that I’ve ever seen. It’s really nice when you’re watching a show and, on the screen, you see a field of tall grass with trees and it looks so life like. When I saw how it all popped If was if I was seeing it while standing there. This TV has some of the best blacks on a screen that I have ever experienced. Most television when displaying images with black on them it makes the colors around it seem off. Not with this Hisense, the images always seem to stay true. Watching movies and shows on this television is a treat. This Hisense 65” television has changed how I will rate others when I come to watching action movies. The high refresh rate made me feel as if I was right in the action. With older television when watching high speed action, you tend to see some choppiness on the screen, not with this Hisense. Hi speed car passes, thrown punches or jets flying at MACH speed it doesn’t skip a beat. My first day watching this television I found myself watching a few movie that I’ve already seen just to see experience the way they were intended. Even my family raved about how big of a difference watching shows on this Hisense has made. Setting this television up was a breeze. I quickly and easily connect to Wi-Fi. Once connected, I was able to connect to my favorite apps and not a one gave me any trouble. The Hisense integrated with my surround sound system flawlessly. Using the provided HDMI ports, I was able to hook up my gaming console and not to rant about that, it handles gaming superbly. No lags and the images look so life like. I, TOTALLY, recommend purchasing this Hisense 65” TV. You will not be disappointed. I have enjoyed my viewing experience and I can honestly say I have never experience anything like it. If you’re like me and really enjoy getting the most out of what you’re watching this is the TV for you. All I can say is what a unit!

The Hisense UR9 lives up to the hype. Period. I’m honestly not sure what to say because I prefer to leave balanced reviews that touch on both pros and cons, but I’m reaching for a con at this point. The only criticism I can provide is that Hisense needs to reduce the adhesive strength of the protective plastic on the screen. Every other aspect of the UR9 is close to perfection. PICTURE: Wow. I’ve owned every flagship TV technology over the last 10 years. They all have their strengths, but there always seems to be a tradeoff. Some TVs achieve perfect blacks but don’t get bright enough for HDR content. Others are bright enough to melt the cones in the back of your eyes, but local dimming creates unpleasant halo effects. After experiencing the UR9’s MiniLED display, my perception completely changed. The blacks rival OLED, and its peak brightness could probably melt a candle in the next room (5,500 nits). If you need a TV for a well lit room, the UR9 checks every box without introducing glare. You may want to upgrade all of your streaming services to their HD plans. You’ve been warned. SOUND: Bear with me, because this is the first time I’ve ever been able to recommend not purchasing a soundbar. Yes, you read that correctly. You don’t need one. Sure, if you want true surround sound, you may still want to invest. But feel free to take the money you were planning to spend on a soundbar and put it toward the UR9 instead. The speakers fire from the sides and bottom of the display, creating a surprisingly immersive soundstage that’s beautifully tuned by Dolby. We may be entering an era where TV manufacturers sell rear channel speakers as accessories rather than expecting customers to buy a full soundbar system. That’s mind blowing. PROFILE / BUILD: I’ll admit it. I threw some shade at Hisense last year because my previous TV was a bit thicker than I thought it should have been. I took a chance on the UR9, and it didn’t disappoint. At just 1.8 inches thick, the UR9 mounts close to the wall and can reclaim several inches of space compared to bulkier TVs. The bezel is nearly nonexistent, and the picture practically melts into the wall. CONCLUSION: I’m going to wrap this up because all I’m doing is drooling over this TV. The UR9 is King as far as I’m concerned and this is the TV every other brand is going to try and beat next year. At this price point, you won’t find anything better - you can take that check to the bank and cash it. Everything from using Google OS to its native 185hz refresh rate - it’s perfect.

After spending a month with the Hisense 65" UR9 RGB MiniLED, I can honestly say this is one of the most impressive TVs I've had in my living room. I'm genuinely impressed with how Hisense packaged this television meticulously to protect it during transit to your home or office, which is very much appreciated especially when you're spending a significant amount of money on one. Setup was straightforward, and within minutes I was logged into Google TV, connected to Wi-Fi 6E, and streaming my usual mix of movies, sports, and YouTube content. Right away, the biggest difference compared to other premium MiniLED TVs was the color performance. Hisense's RGB MiniLED technology isn't just marketing jargon: it genuinely produces richer, more natural colors that look closer to what you'd expect in real life. Skin tones appear realistic, bright scenes have incredible depth, and HDR content looks stunning without appearing artificially oversaturated. Movie watching is where the UR9 *really* shines. I tested everything from Dolby Vision movies on streaming services to IMAX Enhanced content, and the picture quality consistently impressed me. The "Ultra-Low Reflection Obsidian Panel" does an excellent job minimizing glare during daytime viewing, which was especially noticeable in my living room with large windows. Black levels are deep, highlights pop off the screen, and fine shadow details remain visible even in darker scenes. The AI-powered picture processing works quietly in the background and rarely over-processes content, helping everything from older TV shows to modern 4K movies look sharp and clean. Gaming performance is equally impressive. Connected to both my PS5 Pro and gaming PC through the HDMI 2.1 ports, the native 180Hz refresh rate and Game Booster features made gameplay feel exceptionally smooth and responsive. Fast-paced shooters, racing games, and sports titles all benefited from the fluid motion and low input lag. The Game Bar is genuinely useful as well, allowing quick access to frame rate, VRR, and HDR information without interrupting gameplay. Combined with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support, this TV feels built for serious gamers who want flagship-level performance without paying flagship prices. One surprise was the audio quality. Most modern TVs still benefit greatly from a soundbar, but the UR9's built-in 4.1.2-channel speaker system tuned by Devialet delivers far more immersion than I expected. Dialogue is clear, bass has noticeable presence, and Dolby Atmos content creates a convincing sense of height and space. While dedicated home theater enthusiasts will still want a separate audio setup, many viewers may find the built-in sound more than adequate for everyday use. The backlit remote, Google TV interface, Gemini integration, and thoughtful quality-of-life features all contribute to a premium user experience that feels polished and easy to live with. Bringing it all together, the Hisense UR9 feels like a genuine next-generation television rather than just another annual refresh. The RGB MiniLED technology provides a meaningful improvement in color reproduction, gaming features are among the best available, and the combination of strong picture quality, surprisingly capable audio, and excellent smart TV functionality makes it one of the most complete entertainment packages I've used. For anyone looking to upgrade to a premium 4K TV in 2026, especially if you're tuning into major sports events like the NBA Finals (Go Spurs!) or the FIFA World Cup, the UR9 delivers a flagship experience that punches well above its class at a fairly competitive price point.

Oh my goodness! I’m not even sure where to begin. This is by far the best TV my eyes have viewed. I have owned many great TV’s showcasing all different types of panel technology in the past. The RGB MiniLED technology has yet again raised the bar. The first time I turned this TV on, I was immediately shocked at the clarity and brightness. Not to mention just how vivid everything looked. Having replaced a previous flagship model TV that was roughly five years old with this one, the difference in every aspect was immediately apparent. MiniLED technology is apparently the current bar until further notice. If you want to get extremely geeky on the full scope of RBG MiniLED technology, it’s a quick search away. If you want to hear how and why I was so awestruck once I fired the UR9 up, then read on! *** VISUALS *** Beginning with the display itself, since the rest is icing on the cake. This display just looks absolutely amazing. I have watched jaw dropping 4K UHD (the UR9 native resolution) Blu-ray movies. I have played HD PS5 games. I have even watched 4K scenery videos on YouTube just to see the eye candy. Everything looks better than I have ever seen it before. The clarity, color, and brightness / contrast from the brightest whites to the darkest blacks, makes for a truly wonderful viewing experience, no matter what is being displayed. If you get this panel, I highly recommend watching a 4K Ultra HD film right away. My initial choice was Blade Runner 2049 and it was ridiculous. A moody futuristic science fiction film with stellar atmospheric colors and sound that almost pop right off of the screen and out of the speakers into your room. This made me want to start collecting more core 4K UHD films that I really enjoy, so I can re-live them in higher definition. Another standout feature of this panel is the game mode, which displays demanding titles at 180Hz, making fast paced games ultra sharp and smooth, while retaining that incredible contrast and color accuracy. As a photographer and videographer by trade, I also appreciate how beautiful my personal photos and videos appear on this display. But that is just my opinion of course! *** SOUND *** The speakers on most TV’s usually don't cut it for me, so I generally hook them up to a soundbar and sub. I am extremely happy to report that the speakers on the UR9 sound absolutely brilliant. With 80 watts of fully tuned speakers built into the back and sides of the TV, I haven’t even bothered with anything external. They sound that good. The music and sound effects are crisp and loud, the dialogue is crystal clear, and there is more than enough wattage, channel separation, and volume to fill even larger rooms. Less clutter is always welcome. Just awesome! *** REMOTE & NAVIGATION *** The Google interface is really easy to navigate and use. The home screen is very well thought out and access to everything from apps to settings is all straight forward. It’s actually a great navigation app and a joy to use. The remote seems solid and well built and will hopefully survive being inevitably dropped a few times by the kids. There are also quick buttons on the remote which allows one button press to several standard apps, as well as one custom app button that can be programmed with your preference. Thankfully, it is also backlit for use in dark rooms. I also appreciate that the TV automatically powers on if you turn on a device that is plugged into one of the HDMI ports. This makes it very quick to get back to gaming on your favorite console. *** SETUP *** Setup was quick and easy. With two people, we were able to unbox the TV, install the brackets for the wall mount (bracket screws were supplied), sign into Google and other apps, and get up and running in about 20 minutes. The TV was packaged extremely well inside the box with plenty of foam support and peelable plastic sheeting around the edges and on the screen itself. Just be sure to leave all of the plastic on the TV until it is installed so you don’t get fingerprints all over it. *** PORTS *** The UR9 comes with three HDMI ports, one (HDMI 3) being eARC for your sound bar. One Optical digital out. One coaxial antenna port, and two USB ports. *** IN CONCLUSION *** As technology progresses at its inevitable fast pace, it is always amazing to me that devices such as TV’s are able to constantly get better. I remember being floored when standard Blu-ray movies were introduced. I had to run out and update my DVD’s to Blu-rays right away. Until now, I haven’t had the need to purchase 4K UHD movie discs. I will now be upgrading my favorite movies, yet again, and only purchasing 4K UHD discs, until the next best thing arrives of course. The Hisense UR9 with RGB MiniLED technology is truly a sight to behold. Whether I am watching a high definition film, or playing an AAA video game, the UR9 displays it all and I find myself saying wow, quite a bit. I highly recommend stopping at your local Best Buy to take a look in person. You will likely also be amazed! *** PROS *** Incredible clarity and color reproduction Brightness is off the charts The built-in speakers sound amazing and are LOUD 180Hz for intense gaming Solid responsive backlit remote Multiple 3xHDMI and 2xUSB ports *** CONS *** None at this time, but I will reply to this review if anything changes

When I first viewed content on this TV, I found it difficult to believe that it was not an OLED TV - the picture is a bit softer than OLED and it does not suffer from screen burn-in risk like OLED. The colors are quite vivid and color accuracy is very very good while the display is more than bright enough for my very sunny living room. It looks like the screen has some anti-glare treatment applied that reduces the impact of on screen refections. While viewing BluRay media, my wife and I both thought it was just almost as good as being in the movie theater. In fact, all of the content we viewed (all 1080p) looked really good. FYI, I selected FILMMAKER mode and WARM2 color. I had the TV mounted on the wall above the fireplace because - I really had no other option in our smallish living room. Powered off, this Hisense UR9G TV is quite pleasant to look at with its thin bezels. After turning the TV on, I found the startup initialization to be very smooth and straightforward. Afterwards, I was pleased to find how the Google TV interface had advanced since my previous exposure to it a number of years ago. It now presents listings of program content from some streaming services along with any OTA content in the Live view which is a very convenient feature. Although the TV's native sound is pretty good and very customizable, I prefer to use a really nice soundbar instead (which I already owned). The only downside of that is that while the TV remote can adjust the volume, the volume level is not displayed on the TV screen but it is still visible on the soundbar. I did not use any of the AI features nor did I use the gaming features. This TV looks really good, sounds really good, and works really good. The new RGB technology employed by Hisense in this TV is very effective in delivering a top notch viewing experience. Thanks, Hisense.
