Q: Is this a intel 5 or better
A: This Ryzen 5 5500u is slightly better than the Intel i5-1135G7 mobile CPU. It has 6 cores 12 threads compared to the i5 with 4 cores and 8 threads. The i5 is slightly better in single thread performance but the Ryzen 5 has a bigger advantage in multi-thread and integrated GPU.
A: General rule of thumb. AMD and Intel are competing companies in the same market. Because of this, motherboards that support one of the brands processors will NOT support the other. A motherboard that supports AMD will NOT support Intel and vice-versa. The 2 companies make processors based on different sockets which makes them incompatible. So unless you do some extreme customizing on your own, there's no way to interchange AMD with Intel or Intel with AMD.
A: The laptop will come with Built-in Windows Defender anti-virus.
Q: Can the RAM be upgraded? only have one slot?
A: Actually, it can be expanded to 32GB (two 16GB SODIMM). There are four screws visible on the bottom of the case and an additional six screws located under the long rubber slip guards. Once those are removed, you'll need a pick (same used for removing cell phone screens). Insert the pick between the gap on the top area where the keyboard is and work your way around the computer. The two pieces will snap away from each other. Eventually, the bottom will come completely off and you'll see the memory slots to the right (with the front of the computer facing you). Likely there is only one slot occupied.

A: Hi, thank you for the question. HP 17-cp0013dx laptop does not have an Optical drive and it can not play CDs.

A: Yes, I think it would be a good choice for Photoshop and Lightroom.
A: It doesn't have a second NVMe m.2 slot to add a second drive, so you'd need to replace the existing drive with one with a higher capacity.
