Q: Can this still print black even if the color cartridges are depleted or not installed?
A: Jan 20, 2018 I bought this machine today. I asked a BB supervisor and the HP rep this exact question because I read it here. The HP rep said no. Supervisor tested printing capabilities with cartridge removed. It did not print black.
Q: Does price include ink cartridges?
A: It comes with the introductory toner cartridges which yields up to 1400 black pages and 700 each of the colors.
A: Thank you for reaching out. First check out the letters at the end of the LaserJet model numbers. FDW means Fax, Duplex (double-sided printing), and wireless. The FNW is Fax, Networking (ethernet) and Wireless. Besides those differences the 400 series LaserJets are considered the next model up. You get larger toner cartridges (lower cost per page), single pass double-sided scanning, slightly faster print speeds and a few other minor differences.
A: It doen't scan duplex automatically. you need to flip pages and rearrange them in the app and save afterwards. this becomes super obnoxious if you have a lot of pages and documents to save.
A: Yes, but you must choose that option in your print options. I LOVE THIS PRINTER! Best one I've purchased from HP in years. Buying another one for our business & giving it also to my Mom. Even convinced another friend to buy it too.
Q: Does this machine have print, scan and copy?
A: Yes, this unit does all of that.
A: No, this printer will not stop printing if it decides that one or more of the cartridges is low and print quality will not be affected.
A: Resolution is 600dpi by 600dpi. This will not give the best quality photos. Photo quality resolution is 2400 dpi x 1200 dpi. You can purchase special paper to print photos, but cannot use regular photo paper in a laser printer (it will destroy the printer). See previous post from HP support listing all of the page sizes this printer can print.
