I am writing this review for the HP OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop with 1TB SSD, Intel Core i7, Processor 14700F, 16GB DDR5 Memory and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060. I have never enjoyed a computer more than I have the OMEN 35L. In the past I only thought I had some great computers, but this one has completely changed my understanding of what great computers really are. So let me lay out why. First, I love it when you can tell that a company cares about its image and consumer perception. Out of the box it is obvious that HP cares deeply. As I took the OMEN out of the box, I was struck by its sleek and ultramodern appearance. Glass, metal and plastic all come together to produce a desktop any gamer (or user) would be proud to own. The see-through glass side, RGB lighting, and four fans combine to produce an almost dystopian feel to it. I like the fact that it isn’t covered with all the usual decals and stickers. Setup on the 35L is one of the easiest and simplest Windows setups I think I’ve ever experienced. Perhaps Microsoft is finally listening to its customer base, and is going to setups that don’t take seemingly forever, and that don’t require users to jump through hoops just to get a machine up and running. Kudos to them on this one. The OMEN comes equipped with a power cord, so you’ll need a keyboard, mouse, mic, and speakers...and camera if you use one. What’s inside? The 35L (this one) comes with the Intel Core i7 with the 14700F processor. In other words, it sits high on the hill as far as performance capabilities go. This is not an entry-level or office computer, it’s a high-performance beast that also comes with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU. There are four RGB cooling fans. The OMEN comes preinstalled with the OMEN Gaming Hub app, which is something you will come to appreciate. In fact, depend on. It controls everything about the 35L, from RGB lighting settings to power settings, performance, even PC maintenance. Again, not to appear to be blowing smoke, but as with the overall design and build of the OMEN, HP invested a lot of time and effort in designing this app. As you go through it and look at all of its features, you will understand exactly what I mean. Nothing about this setup is just thrown together. But the real question doesn’t lie in the whistles and bells, the real question is, “How does it perform?” First off…technically yes, the 35L with the RTX 5060 can output 8K resolution, but it wholly and completely inadequate and inferior to GPUs that are specifically designed to handle such high resolutions. Game play is all but impossible. But at 1080 or1440? You can’t stop this beast. Stunning graphics, smooth and fluid movement, amazing colors…you name it, at these resolutions the RTX 5060 rules. And I have to be honest here, there is a point where playing at higher resolutions is nothing more than bragging rights, especially in FPS games, heavy-action games, and games with action everywhere. I can’t think of one time I stopped in the middle of a game to admire the stark clarity of a leaf in 8K… just saying. For those who tend to pretend you can’t enjoy Rainbow Six Siege unless playing in fully functional 8K, I will wholeheartedly disagree. But now, not to completely downplay the limitations of the 5060, I have several AI models sandboxed on the 35L. Without getting into all the technical details, the bulk of the work in such higher levels of computing is done via the GPU. When using the Qwen 3-8B, it is super fast. However, when loading the Qwen3-14B-GGUF, it’s a completely different ballgame. Much slower. Not mind-boggling slow, but absolutely noticeably slower. That’s the primary limitation of 8GB VRAM, vs 16GB, or more. That’s just something to keep in mind. This is also something to keep in mind when playing those absolute hardware-devouring psychopaths that cause even a high-end modern GPU to start sweating. At 1440, Cyberpunk 2077, with let’s say, ray tracing, can begin to show its limitations. But at regular high settings, there is no better gaming experience. Besides, because the 35L is so easily upgradeable, you can always install the 4070 later, because the power supply is also upgradable. One thing you will notice, or rather NOT notice, is the machine noise. It is almost non-existent. Under heavy loads, you can hear the fans when they kick on IF you aren’t wearing headphones and IF you don’t have the speakers on. The hum of the refrigerator drowns out the fan noise. Another thing to consider is that the OMEN 35L is absolutely upgradeable. To give it a minor test, I installed a second 1TB SSD in the onboard M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 x4 slot. Works perfectly. Which is super because I didn’t want to fill up the C drive with all the AI models. Listen, if you want to take the plunge and get yourself a fantastic gaming desktop, get the OMEN 35L. It absolutely delivers on all fronts, and there is no compromise in its performance. Everything about the OMEN 35L is a win-win.

The HP OMEN line of high-end gaming computers began in 2006, when HP acquired VoodooPC. HP made a number of updates to OMEN since 2006, including rebranding the line to HyperX Omen in 2026. This review is for the HP OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop with Intel Core i7-14700F, 16GB DDR5 Memory, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, & 1TB SSD. Setting up this desktop computer was the easiest I have ever experienced. This desktop is a show stopper. The sleek black body with a tempered glass side commands a high-end feel. Customizable RGB lighting is visible from the glass side & both ends. I use this desktop for gaming and for engineering work. The Windows 11 Home Operating System is very intuitive. It blows away Windows 10! The Wi-Fi 6 wireless networking standard adds to the stellar capabilities of this quiet, powerful machine. Gaming with the 35L is a dream! Expect smooth, blazing speed with no delays. It is absolutely amazing! I am thrilled with this desktop as it is configured. Should you want even greater performance, the 35L is easy to upgrade, add memory, and you can even upgrade the 500 watt power supply. The vast number of connections make this a very versatile desktop: 3 x DisplayPort, 1 x HDMI , 2 x USB-C 3.0, 1 x USB-C 3.1, 2 x USB-A 3.0, 4 x USB-A 2.0, & 2 x USB-A 3.1. CONCLUSION: Gaming with the 35L offers immersive experiences far superior to any desktop or laptop I have ever used. It earns my highest recommendation.

The HP OMEN 35L continues the OMEN legacy of delivering high‑performance hardware in a clean, well‑engineered chassis, and this generation raises the bar even further. The system arrived packaged securely, with excellent internal protection. One of the first things I appreciated was the case design: the locks on the bottom allow the top panel to slide off easily, making internal access simple and tool‑free. It’s a smart touch that shows HP understands how enthusiasts maintain and upgrade their systems. Setup was straightforward with the typical Windows onboarding process. Once powered on, the customizable OMEN RGB lighting adds a polished, modern look without being distracting. The lighting transitions are smooth, and the software makes it easy to dial in the exact style you want. From a hardware standpoint, the specs are strong for this configuration. The 16GB of DDR5 memory provides excellent bandwidth for multitasking, and the Intel Core i7‑14700F is a serious performer. Paired with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, the system handles modern gaming, streaming, and productivity workloads with ease. I tested it across movies, daily tasks, and several demanding games. Movie playback was smooth and stutter‑free. Gaming responsiveness was especially impressive — no lagging, no frame drops, and no thermal throttling even during extended sessions. The processing speed stands out the most. Downloading and installing large, graphics‑heavy games took almost no time, thanks to the combination of the CPU and the fast 1TB SSD. Port selection is another strong point. The OMEN 35L offers a generous number of ports, including several conveniently placed on the front of the machine. Having front‑facing USB ports and an audio jack makes quick connections — controllers, headsets, flash drives — incredibly easy. On the back, there’s a full array of USB options, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs from the GPU, Ethernet, and additional audio connections. It’s a well‑balanced layout that supports both everyday use and more complex setups without requiring adapters or constant cable swapping. I’ve owned an older OMEN for years, so I already knew HP builds reliable gaming desktops. Even with that expectation, this model surpassed what I anticipated. It’s faster, quieter, more refined, and clearly designed with both performance and user experience in mind. Overall, the HP OMEN 35L is a fantastic upgrade — powerful, efficient, thoughtfully engineered, and ready for anything from high‑end gaming to heavy multitasking. I’m thoroughly impressed.

So far my teenager loves this gaming PC by HP Omen. It's replacing a 2-year-old Dell alienware which quit working within one year due to the shoddy components. So far this is nice and quiet and plays all the games he likes the RGB fans and case look premium I just feel for the price this should include a water cooled AIO for the CPU. When looking to add RAM I can't believe how much one stick of RAM has won up over the years it's insane now I get why these gaming desktops are so pricey to put together. I like that there's an extra slot should you want to add another m.2 SSD for more storage. It would have been nice if the power supply would be at least 850 Watts versus the only 500 w cooler master power supply that's included with this build. I do feel though if you don't mind taking the time to build your own gaming PC you could build a slightly nicer one with a better rated power supply as well as more RAM and a water cool the AIO for the CPU. If you're one that doesn't feel comfortable building your own PC this is the way to go the omen gaming PCs look to be a much better build than the alienware by Dell.

I decided to upgrade since my previous "gaming" computer with cooling issues led to corrupting the GPU and a total loss. This HP OMEN- 35L Gaming Desktop is a definite upgrade right out of the box with possible upgrades in the future. As a casual gamer and not looking to go pro any time soon, this is the perfect computer for me. Some of the things I like.. -- First of all, The case is a stunning sleek black, with glass in front and 1 side to give you a great look into the RGB lights and the ominous "OMEN" logo on the front. It's a great looking machine. This HP OMEN- 35L is air cooled and all the vents, fans and air holes seem to keep it running with low heat and super quiet. -- The Intel Core i7-14700F is a very powerful processor that can handle most gaming, streaming movies, music or TV. You will have no problem using word processor software for school or work, or exploring Chrome tabs. This HP OMEN- 35L is a multi-tasking dream. --As far as gaming is concerned, the RTX 5060 graphics card is solid for modern gaming at 1080p ultra settings and decent for 1440p gaming with DLSS enabled. The 16GB DDR5 RAM is enough for casual gaming today, although my kids, who are devoted gamers, are telling me upgrading to 32GB RAM to play newer AAA games with them. Maybe in the future. --For me, the 1TB SSD is plenty. This SSD has really fast boot and loading times and plenty of storage for work and gaming files. -- This machine comes with plenty of ports to install all your peripherals with ease. The top has... 3 USB Ports,( 1 type C and 2 type A) which will continue to charge phones or tablets while sleeping or powered off. It also has a headphone/ microphone port. The back has.... 4 USB type A ( 2 5Gbps and 2 10Gbps) 2 USB type C ( 1 5Gbps and 1 10Gbps) 2 USB 2.0 type A I RJ-45 Ethernet plug HDMI and 3 display port and 3.55 audio jacks -- The HP OMEN- 35L Gaming Desktop is perfect for people like me. Work computer by day, catching a movie or game on streaming services in the evening, and an hour or 2 of gaming at night.

I was in need of an upgrade to my current gaming rig, which was running a Ryzen 7 3700X and an RTX 3070, so when I saw this HP Omen 35L, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. This is a solid upgrade if your system is more than a few years old, but it’s still very much a budget build with a slightly older Intel CPU and a lower end Nvidia card. There are some clear pros and cons I want to go over, along with a few things I noticed while using it and of course how it handles games and peripherals. Pros -Beautiful black and glass finish with vibrant RGB on the fans and even the memory -HP uses standard parts now, so swapping the PSU, adding memory or dropping in another NVMe is easy -The Intel Core i7‑14700F has plenty of power for any game or task -The Nvidia RTX 5060 is a decent budget card with enough power for most games and supports the latest DLSS -1TB NVMe is fast and gives you plenty of storage -16GB of DDR5 is enough for gaming and general productivity -Plenty of USB ports, both USB‑C and USB‑A -3.5mm audio output is always appreciated -Built‑in wireless with no external antennas, which is nice -The 35L is very quiet, even for an air-cooled system Cons -The Intel Core i7‑14700F is now a couple generations old. Not a huge deal since the newer chips aren’t a big leap, but it’s still not a “new” CPU -16GB of RAM at this price feels low. I expected 32GB, especially with the RAM shortage going on in early 2026 -The RTX 5060 is a basic model with no tweaks and only 8GB of VRAM, which is too low for modern AAA games at higher resolutions. 1080p will be fine, but 1440p and above will chew through that 8GB fast -Only a 500-watt power supply. It’s enough for the 5060, but if you want to upgrade to a 5070 or 5080, you’ll need a new PSU (at least HP made it easy) -At this price water cooling should have come standard, but instead you get a completely air-cooled system, which isn’t a deal breaker for most people Overall Thoughts Overall, HP has a pretty solid entry level gaming desktop with the 35L. The RGB isn’t overdone, the case looks great on a desk, and the system performs well for what it is. But the RTX 5060 with only 8GB of VRAM holds it back. At this price, HP really should have included 32GB of system memory and at least a 5060 Ti with 12GB, so users don’t run into VRAM limits when trying to use features like Ray Tracing or Path Tracing. With that said, I was able to play RE9, Forza 5, Crimson Desert and a bunch of other indie games with absolutely no issues at 1440P. Most of these games were playing at above 60fps on ultra or high, except for RE9 which completely broke when trying to activate Ray Tracing/Path Tracing on the limited 8GB of VRAM of the RTX 5060. Everything about this system worked as intended, including USB ports, audio, fans, lighting, etc. Also HP has minimized its bloatware. You’ll only have to uninstall McAfee and everything else isn’t so obnoxious. The Omen Gaming Hub is a nice program that for some reason makes my OLED monitor flicker but otherwise works like a charm for controlling the RGB lighting and adjusting performance settings. You can even open up an “Extreme” setting if you go into the BIOS and enable it (which of course I did). HP Support Assistant is also pre-installed, and you’ll need that to get BIOS and driver updates, so you’ll want to keep that. If you’re just getting into PC gaming or replacing an older system and want something newer with DLSS support, this could be a great fit. But if you’re a hardcore gamer who wants to play at ultra settings at 1440p or higher, I’d stay away from this unless you plan on upgrading the PSU and the RTX 5060.

I’ve been using the HP OMEN 35L for a little while now, and honestly I’ve really enjoyed it. Everything feels fast right from startup. Games load quickly, switching between things is smooth, and overall it just feels really responsive. I mainly use it for gaming, but it’s also been great for regular everyday stuff without slowing down. The design was one of the first things I noticed too. It looks really clean and sleek without being too flashy, and the lighting adds a nice touch to my setup. It definitely gives that premium gaming PC feel. It’s also quieter than I expected, even while gaming. It also pairs really well visually with my OMEN monitor and makes the whole setup look put together. Performance wise, I haven’t had any issues. Games run smoothly and graphics look great. The RTX 5060 handles everything I’ve played really well so far, and the 1TB SSD gives a good amount of storage without immediately feeling full. The only small downside for me is that it is a little bigger than I expected, so it does take up some space. I also think serious gamers might eventually want more than 16GB of RAM, but for most people it’s perfectly fine out of the box. Overall, I think this is a really solid gaming desktop if you want something powerful that also looks good and feels reliable. It has been a great experience so far.

The Omen 35L computer has been nothing short of incredible to use so far. The unboxing was easy but was packaged very well and secure. My first thought was ohhh its so pretty. The black casing, glass side wall and the RGB lighting inside is great! The lighting is all fully customizable and I do like that I can turn the lighting off if it was overwhelming at night. This is my first Omen PC but I have been researching one that would work for me for just everyday use as well as gaming when I needed it to be. I have a PC that my brother helped me build currently and haven't had the best experience trying to find the perfect combo of parts to get the best performance. But with this being a pre-built computer, I hoped it would just be better overall. Once I turned it on and began setup I could instantly notice the difference when I loaded up the first game, Helldivers 2. WOW! It ran so smooth, so clean, without any hiccups at all as my old PC would do. I was able to increase the game settings and the Geoforce RTX 5060 handles it so well. It has 4k settings as well which really gave such a beautiful picture. The casing allows for awesome air flow so, so far I haven't noticed the machine really getting "hot" which was a plus for me. The fans aren't loud at all which I appreciated so much being that it is located in my living room at this moment until I get my office situated. The Omen gaming hub is very nice. I love being able to know exactly how each part of the computer is functioning and that is also where I can see the temperature of the machine. It lagged just a little at first but so far since that first issue, I've had zero issues clicking around and making my changes as needed in the hub. There is also an optimization tab and that allows me to clean out unnecessary files with one click. I'm a control freak by nature and this just gives me all the things I feel is needed to really have full power over my PC. Now, for my everyday use. It has Windows 11 home edition installed which is fine for now but I will eventually update that to the Windows 11 Pro only because I do remote work occasionally. This computer navigates all the windows so fluidly and allows for easy multitasking as expected. I have zero complaints with this PC. I know the 16gb of ram could be less appealing for some, but for me it honestly is just fine for now. Luckily, there's way more room for expansion when I'm ready and at that level of need but for the price point and for what I was looking for, the HP Omen 35L is perfect for me.

This gaming PC looks great, runs quietly, is easy to maintain, and offers plenty of upgrade potential. The first thing you notice when you power it on is the design. The glass side panel gives you a clear view of the LED lighting on the four fans and memory sticks, while the front fans shine through the screened glass front panel for an even cooler effect. The next thing that stands out is how quiet it is. Even under heavy use, this gaming PC stays impressively silent. It’s a huge improvement over the gaming laptop my son was using before, which sounded like it was ready for takeoff every time the fans kicked in. The case design also makes maintenance simple. After about a week of use, we noticed some dust building up on the front fan screen. Cleaning it was easy — the front glass panel and screen pop right off and snap back into place once cleaned. The side glass panel is just as convenient, removing with two thumb screws for quick access to the inside of the case. That easy access also makes upgrades straightforward. The included 16GB of RAM feels a little limited for a gaming PC, but there are four RAM slots total, supporting up to 32GB each for a maximum of 128GB. Storage is somewhat modest at 1TB, but there are also two additional SSD slots available, making future expansion easy. Another nice feature is the accessibility of the ports. On the top of the PC, next to the power button, there are two USB-A ports and one USB-C port — the ones we use most often. If you need more connectivity, there are six additional USB-A ports on the back. Overall, this is a well-rounded gaming PC with excellent style, quiet performance, and strong upgrade potential. Combined with the powerful Intel i7 processor and RTX 5060 graphics card, it should provide a great gaming experience for years to come.

Inside the box is the tower, power cord and instructional guide. First Impression - This is one of the heftier towers I’ve come across, but only in size. The tower itself is pretty average in weight and easier to move around. It’s not so large it doesn’t fit under or over the average gaming desk without being too much in the way, but large enough that the transparent side panels and faceplate light up most of the room if it’s on and the lights aren’t. The lights aren’t a bother at all though, during actual gameplay they turn off, very convenient for myself who’s distraction prone. It’s also significantly quieter than the past few towers I’ve had over the years, despite being larger. Something I noticed during set up is the absolutely amazing amount of usb-c and usb-a ports on the top and back. This is perfect for any users like myself whom has to many “wireless” devices that still need to plug in some sort of adapter. The tower itself is very durable, I’ve gotten used to pre built computers feeling easy to take apart for the upgrade enthusiasts; but this one really is sleek and feels like it was made to last despite being able to remove the panels without needing any special tools. And last it will, it has no trouble running the latest games with no issue with its sixteen gigabytes of RAM. Having a terabyte of space is a large plus for all of the larger games releasing lately, as well. I no longer have to choose which games I can play before having to make space again. Overall, I find it to be a top tier choice in prebuilt gaming towers, its chic and near silent design really stands out as something I would happily recommend to any gamers I know. I would purchase again and I would also recommend to friends and family.
