Q: what does this mean- "4GB Memory- 64GB eMMC Flash Memory"
A: This model ha 4GB of random-access-memory (RAM), and 64GB eMMC (Embedded Multimedia Card) storage (instead of a hard disk drive or a solid state drive).
A: This HP Stream Laptop computer is pre-installed in Windows 10 in S mode. It is a version of Windows 10 that's streamlined for security and performance, while providing a familiar Windows experience. To increase security, it allows only apps from the Microsoft Store, and requires Microsoft Edge for safe browsing. To get out of Windows 10 in S mode, Open the Start Menu and type Store to launch the Microsoft Store app. Click the Search icon in the upper-right and search for Switch Out of S Mode. You'll see a banner about S Mode with a Learn more button. Click this, then follow the steps to leave S Mode and get a full version of Windows. Please note that once you switch out of Windows in S mode, you can never go back. Once you are out of Windows in S mode, you can now install any apps like Google Chrome.
Q: can i run the sims 4 on this?
A: It meets the minimum requirements, but you will have a more enjoyable experience with a faster processor and more RAM.
A: The HP Stream does not have a lot of storage and it is not very fast. You would have approximately half of the storage available due to the space the operating system takes. You can get online and play videos online. And it does come with a 1 year of Microsoft Office Personal to use. You might like a better laptop with a faster processor and more storage.
Q: Could I run adobe programs on this? Photoshop, Lightroom?
A: Unfortunately Photoshop and Lightroom will not run smoothly on this laptop. You will need an Intel Core series or AMD Ryzen level processor for this kind of programs.
Q: Is this a Windows 10 S where you have to upgrade to be able to add your own software?
A: I do not show it as having S mode but any model that did have S mode can be upgraded to Windows 10 Home at no cost.
A: This model is not designed for heavy multitasking. I would recommend a model with more storage, atleast 128GB and 8GB of RAM.
