I am writing this review for the HyperX OMEN 23.8" IPS Full HD 180Hz FreeSync Gaming Monitor with Adjustable Height, and I'll tell you right up front — this one surprised me in many ways. Let me walk you through it. I think it would be very difficult to find a gamer on any level who has not heard of the HyperX OMEN brand of desktops and monitors. Both sit at the top of their respective mountains, and the name alone carries a certain weight and expectation when you pick up the box. So I was genuinely looking forward to putting the 23.8" monitor through its paces and seeing if it lived up to the reputation. Out of the box, the HyperX is a very straightforward and no-nonsense monitor. You won't find all the typical buttons and knobs cluttering the bezel that come standard on a lot of other gaming monitors. Instead, HyperX has ingeniously placed full control of the monitor in a d-pad style array on the back of the unit that is both easy to find and surprisingly easy to use once you get your bearings. The array controls everything you could possibly want as far as the monitor goes — input sources, preset color modes such as FPS, RPG, RTS, and more, overlays for timers, crosshair placement and position, you name it, the d-pad will probably handle it. One thing I particularly appreciate is that the pad does not stop at a wall but continues to scroll through the menus whether you go left to right or right to left. This was a genuinely smart move by HyperX, because you no longer have to rack your brain trying to remember where that one particular option was hiding. Just keep scrolling and you'll find it. Simple, clean, effective. The monitor itself is of a minimalist nature. Like I said, it's straightforward and no-nonsense, and honestly, I like it. There is nothing here to distract you while you're deep in a session. The stand features an up and down adjustment slide for smooth, easy movement on the vertical axis. The monitor can be positioned almost at desktop level — just a couple of inches above the surface — and raises to roughly six inches above the tabletop. That range is more than enough to find the sweet spot where there is no physical stress from craning your neck or straining your eyes. After long sessions, that kind of ergonomic flexibility matters more than people give it credit for. The monitor does not swivel or tilt dramatically, so if you were hoping for a full range of articulation, you may need to factor in a third-party arm. But for the vast majority of setups, the height adjustment alone gets the job done. The HyperX is an IPS monitor, which places it leaps and bounds above older TN panel technology. IPS delivers better colors, wider viewing angles, more natural image quality, cleaner-looking whites, and far less of that ugly color shifting you get when viewing a TN display from even a slight angle. In other words, the image looks great no matter where you happen to be sitting in relation to the screen — a genuine quality of life improvement if you share your screen with anyone or simply move around while you game. The 23.8" screen size is what many call the sweet spot for gaming. It keeps your attention naturally focused without requiring the constant eye scanning that comes with those notorious ultrawide or 50-plus inch behemoths some people insist on. Everything is right there in front of you, in your field of view, right where it belongs. The color delivery is exceptional on the HyperX, rich and punchy without feeling oversaturated or artificial. That said, this is an IPS monitor, and while the blacks are good, they are simply not the same as what you would get on a quality OLED display. For most applications and most environments, the HyperX is perfectly fine. It is only when I kill all the lights in the room that the IPS limitations begin to reveal themselves. The blacks are not deep and pure — they are a very dark, dark gray, but just not quite true black. In a normally lit room this is genuinely a non-issue. In a fully darkened room it becomes noticeable, though I would still call it acceptable. It is one of those things you learn to make peace with when you are not spending OLED money. Motion is really very nice at 180Hz, and responsiveness is excellent — especially when playing fast-moving titles like Asphalt Legends and Forza Horizon 5. I am deeply into open world games, and I have to say the immersion factor here genuinely impressed me. The atmospheric lighting in particular is surprisingly strong, pulling you into the environment in a way I did not fully anticipate from a monitor at this price point. The FreeSync technology does its job quietly and effectively, keeping things smooth and tear-free during those moments when the action ramps up fast. Just keep in mind that if you are running an NVIDIA GPU, you will want to confirm this model appears on your own particular NVIDIA's G-Sync Compatible list before buying, as FreeSync performance can vary depending on your setup. I only mention this because I don’t know if, let’s say, my RTX 5060 has the same compatibility as the RTX 5090, or the 4090, but for those on AMD, it is a seamless experience. So what about latency? I want to be upfront — I am not a professional FPS gamer. But I am competitive, and being a bit older than the average gamer, I will take every little advantage I can get. The HyperX is, as I have said, super responsive. There are no noticeable latency issues on my end. Mouse and keyboard responses feel immediate and accurate, and in the heat of a match, that kind of confidence in your equipment goes a long way. I never once found myself blaming the monitor for a missed shot or a slow reaction — and for me, that is really the highest compliment I can pay it. Bottom Line: The HyperX OMEN 23.8" IPS 180Hz monitor is a well-built, thoughtfully designed display that punches solidly at its price point. It is not trying to be everything to everyone, and it does not pretend to be. If you want a clean, fast, reliable gaming monitor with a smart control system and a screen that genuinely delivers in motion-heavy gameplay, this one deserves a serious look. Just go in eyes-open about the IPS black levels and the resolution ceiling, and you will likely walk away very satisfied with a new HyperX 23.8” monitor in your hands.

HyperX - OMEN 23.8" IPS Full HD 180Hz FreeSync Gaming Monitor with Adjustable Height (DisplayPort, HDMI) - Black This 23.8” (1920 x 1080) HD monitor is a good entry level gaming monitor. It has a clear, crisp picture, 180 Hz refresh rate needed to enjoy most PC games, and base features for a good experience. The base is solid, connects extremely easy, and with monitor attached is roughly 15-20lbs. In other words, it’s not going anywhere if the desk/surface gets a little shaky, or you bump the monitor when attached. There are 2 HDMI inputs, 1 DP input, and an audio jack input. Very standard for a gaming monitor. You can turn the monitor very easily with minimal effort, 90 degrees, to orientate vertically. This monitor is eyesafe certified 2.0, with an RPF of 35. No clue what those were was so I googled it and saved you time. From Google: eyesafe certified 2.0 is a rigorous, health-based standard for display screens that signifies reduced high-energy blue light (415–455 nm) while maintaining color accuracy. It ensures screens meet strict, expert-backed requirements for managing blue light toxicity, balancing eye comfort with visual performance. RPF = Radiation Protection Factor : Measures the amount of blue light being emitted by the monitor. Higher RPF number indicates less blue light being emitted. This monitor has 8 color presets to choose from, or you can customize your own preferences. I was more than happy with the Native selection. Changing most individual game settings, had little to no effect with the display quality of this monitor. No lagging, ghosting, or any latency problems. Nice bright clear display. I think this is a wonderful choice for anyone with a student in school, who likes to enjoy PC games. With the blue light protection , it can help to combat the potential long-term, cumulative damage to eye health from prolonged screen use. Regarding schoolwork, it can help with a student’s ability to get a good night’s sleep, and to help with. Anything that helps their brain relax and wind down for the night is a good thing, with significant benefits to their sleep pattern! Highly recommend!

For a 23.8” monitor, the details look sharp, the colors look vibrant and the black levels are pretty good. The finish of the screen is matte, preventing practically any reflection. However, bright light does diffuse making some things hard to see. The viewing angles are fairly good so long as you are not coming at it from too steep of an angle. Then you can really notice things getting washed. For a gaming monitor, it has most of the typical things. Color presets based on common types of games, a refresh rate display, a crosshair and built in timer/stopwatch and the 180hz. The settings are all controlled with the little directional pad on the back and has 2 levels. There are the quick settings for most options, like disabling/enabling those mentioned above. Then there is the deeper level that lets you customize even more. Like the crosshair for example lets you change the style and color. It has two HDMI and one Display port and the PC sees the audio as OMEN 24 G2, so you can plugged 3.5mm headphones straight into the monitor. The included stand works well giving height adjustment pivot and tilt. However, the one thing that I find odd is that the standard mounting is turned 45 degrees. This means if you are using your own wall/desk mount, then it has to be installed at an angle. Depending on your setup, this could limit your full 90 degree rotations as it is already at 45. For me, since I don’t rotate my monitor all that often, it is not a problem. But with the limit stop on my mount, I Can not only move it 45 degrees in either direction unless I take it off and rotate the mount 45 degrees back to level it out. Overall, it is still a very viable monitor for Full HD gaming. It’s not meant for the bleeding edge systems where you have to have it all, but enough to notice a difference from a standard monitor.

For The Omen 23.8 in ISP full HD 180 HZ freesync gaming monitor I believe and the collars are pretty darn accurate. It has a matte screen preventing a lot of annoying reflections. For the physical buttons on the monitor, they are on the back and it's a directional pad on the back to help navigate through the osd. For IO there are two HDMI ports on the back One. DisplayPort and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. This is a straight up. Very simple but effective gaming monitor. It does have the ability to rotate to landscape mode which I'm currently using it in and I've had zero issues. The colors look great. The response rate is great for gaming and I have no issues with screen tear or any challenges that I have seen. I love how simple and straightforward this monitor is to set up. It took me about 2 minutes to set up the whole monitor. The mechanism that holds the monitor in place is very simple and easy to use. It just clicks whenever it's in. Overall, I think HP has done well with this Omen 23.8 ISP monitor and it simply just works and is a competitive monitor at this price point. It looks great and performance has been nothing but spectacular so far.

The HyperX monitor arrived well packaged with instructions an HDMI cable, power cable, stand and monitor. To assemble the monitor, I did not need tools, and it was fast and easy. Once assembled I was able to use one input for my Firestick and the other input I used to connect to my laptop. It also has a DP port as well as a 3.5mm headphone output. I really like that the monitor can be raised a few inches or lower it and the screen can be tilted for a comfortable viewing. When it comes to performance, it works great at 120hz and at optimal mode it is 180hz ready yet it worked great at 120hz while gaming. The monitor has an easy to navigate menu, it can be customized for different occasions such as gaming, browsing and more. I really like that it has AMD Freesync, and the picture looks clear, sharp and flawless. Overall, my HyperX Omen full HD monitor not only does it look great because its slim edges on top and on the sides, it has a very nice matte screen that has a great look. It also performs great, it keeps up with the game, video editing and the colors are great. It is easy to use and a great addition to my system.

The HyperX OMEN 24 G2 is a very nice 23.8-inch IPS gaming monitor that proves you don’t have to cut corners when building a budget-friendly or compact setup. Specifically seeking a 1080p display in the 22-25 inch range for games like Fortnite, Minecraft, Halo: Reach, and Roblox, I found this gaming monitor to be a perfect fit for both my primary desktop with a small monitor because of desktop space, and serving as a secondary laptop screen to my gaming laptop. Setup is very user-friendly and you don't need additional tools to put together. The packaging is designed for an easy lift-out, and the stand simply snaps into the back panel without the need for screws. While the inclusion of an HDMI 2.0 cable is a nice touch for immediate play, I would have liked that it would come with a DisplayPort cable instead. Performance-wise, the OMEN 24 G2 outperforms it's price point. Despite being a 1080p panel, the image clarity is remarkable, and the 180Hz refresh rate ensures a fluid, stutter-free experience. When maintaining high frame rates in titles like Fortnite, the monitor remains sharp with no ghosting or screen tearing, thanks in part to AMD FreeSync. I was particularly impressed by the Factory Color Calibration and 99% sRGB coverage. Coming from high-end OLED displays, I expected the IPS panel to look washed out or faded, but the colors remained pretty accurate and lifelike. The monitor even features automatic color modes, such as FPS or Cinema that adjust levels based on your activity, saving you the hassle of fiddling with manual settings. The physical design is equally thoughtful, featuring an ergonomic stand that offers height adjustment from 3.5 to 5.5 inches, along with tilt and rotation to reduce fatigue. Connectivity is a breeze with two HDMI 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4, allowing for easy switching between a PC and a console. The screen is designed to prevent eye strain during long gaming marathons, and the simple control stick makes it easy to adjust your brightness or contrast. Overall, ff you need a high-quality, fast monitor that looks great without being complicated to set up, I highly recommend this HyperX OMEN 23.8. Especially if desktop space is limited, this is a great alternative for you.

I have been using this HyperX Omen 23.8-inch monitor for a few days now and have been pretty happy with the performance and picture clarity. The setup was simple with fewer options than more pricey gaming monitors. This monitor also lacked RBG lighting, but that is exactly what I wanted from this monitor. I was looking for a high refresh rate without all the bells and whistles (no RGB or built-in speakers). I played GTA V and Minecraft and the 180Hz refresh rate was enough to prevent any noticeable ghosting. The, roughly 24-inch, monitor was the perfect size for the desk I was using it on, and the sliding mechanism was a great feature to quickly adjust the height for when my kids want to use the computer. I would like for HP to have the cable management built into the monitor stem rather than use the “U” bracket which clips on in the back of the monitor stem. The monitor had to be pushed back as far as it could go on the desk, and the “U” bracket had to be removed to give another inch of space. I would highly recommend this monitor for anyone looking for a gaming monitor on a budget, but doesn’t want to sacrifice refresh rates.

I'm just going to jump right in and state this. If a gaming monitor doesn't have speakers in two thousand twenty-six and beyond, are we really showing effort? Thank you. Now we can begin. The HyperX- OMEN 24 is sleek and styling. It fits just about any starter PC gaming set-up, outside of gaming laptop, right out of the box. And in the box, you're going to get the 24" screen, a HDMI cable, display port cable, power supply, back cover, and adjustable stand. Now, this isn't the usual (one positioning) style stand, here. Oh, no. You're getting upgraded office-style stand, that can raise the screen vertically, as well as the tilting option. And there's also a nice little cable management attachment, for the four possible cables [2 HDMI cables. 1 display cable, and the power supply cable.] The headphone port (the 3.5 mm jack, to be precise.) doesn't require managing. Well, it wouldn't need it if there were speakers on this one. That is the main qualm that I've got with the OMEN 24, but not the only thing. I mentioned earlier that the OMEN 24 works great with everything, accept laptops. That is, without some tweaking to the system, of course. With that being said. It does, indeed, work on my desktop, PS5, Xbox, and Switch. The screen fills up and looks great. There's one multi-functional knob on back, to adjust the settings. And there's a nice back panel, albeit pointless, separate piece, in the box. This is a pretty monitor, and I will always recommend a good 24" monitor, for gaming.

I wanted a smaller monitor for a budget gaming PC, mainly focused on playing games like Fortnite and Minecraft in creative modes. I wanted the monitor to be around 22-25in with a resolution of 1080p and an IPS panel to help with color accuacy. I saw that OMEN had a 23.8in IPS monitor which looked like a perfect fit, so I decided to get one. Pros: - 1080p Resolution at 180Hz - 2xHDMI 2.0 Ports. - Factory Color Calibration. Cons: - Doesn’t include DisplayPort cable, only HDMI cable. Setup: OMEN makes the initial setup easy by designing the packaging to be easily opened and lift out of the box. If you’re going to use the provided stand, instead of a monitor arm connection, then connect the back cover before attaching the stand and base plate. The stand just snaps onto the monitor, no extra screws to attach. To remove the monitor panel from the stand, just lay it flat on a table with the screen side down and press the button on the underside of the stand attached to the back of the monitor. The monitor will pop right off. The only concern I had while setting up the OMEN 23.8in was the lack of an included DisplayPort cable, only an HDMI 2.0 cable is included. Specifications: The OMEN 23.8in has a 23.8in IPS Full HD (1080p) display with a maximum refresh rate of 180Hz. The monitor takes advantage of FreeSync technology, which is an adaptive sync technology that allows the monitor to adjust the frame rate based on how many actual frames the computer can generate. This works with both AMD and Nvidia GPUs, for Nvidia GPU’s just make sure to enable G-Sync Compatible Mode in the Nvidia Control Panel. Maximum Brightness is 300 nits which is fairly standard for IPS panels. The color gamut is 99% of sRGB, but the biggest benefit is a factory color calibration that ensures what you see is the color that was expected. The monitor also features a Response Time of 1ms, which can be enabled in the monitor settings. Connectivity: The OMEN 23.8in comes with 2x HDMI 2.0 and 1x DisplayPort 1.4, plus a headphone jack for plugging in a headset directly into the monitor. Having 2 HDMI ports is very convenient, as I might plug a gaming system in alongside the PC in the future. Stand: The included stand allows for a height adjustment between 3.5in to 5.5in with the ability to tilt and rotate the monitor. This allows you to adjust the monitor to an ideal position for better ergonomics and reduce fatigue while using. Use: I found using the OMEN 23.8in to be exactly what I wanted for a basic gaming setup, good full HD performance without any trade-offs. The color accuracy and pre-calibration made setting up games as simple as launching the game and adjusting the basic settings in game. I didn’t have to adjust the monitor settings at all, which was a great relief. I found playing FPS games like Fortnite played amazingly, depending on the system but if you can maintain a steady 160+ Frame Rate at 1080p, this OMEN monitor is a perfect pick! I didn’t have any issues like ghosting or screen tearing, everything was smooth and sharp. I was very impressed with the colors, as my other main monitors are OLED displays which tend to have much more vivid colors, which can make IPS panels look washed out when side by side. The OMEN display does look less vivid, but the colors are still very accurate and not washed out. Conclusion: If you’re looking for a 1080p gaming monitor that doesn’t cut any corners, the OMEN 23.8 would be my top recommendation. There’s just nothing not to like about this monitor. The 180Hz paired with the 1080p IPS panel is perfect for any competitive or casual game, while the color calibration ensures what you see on the screen is color accurate without any fussing with settings. I know this will go over well and look forward to playing some Fortnite and Minecraft soon!

The biggest surprise with this monitor when I plugged it in is I was expecting it to say HyperX, but my NVIDIA software actually detected it as an HP monitor. Turns out HP owns Omen and HyperX. I was not aware of that. I have this plugged in using an HDMI cable. The cool thing about this monitor is it actually has three inputs, two HDMI and one DisplayPort. I have this plugged into an NVIDIA 3070 video card. I usually play Blizzard games. I'm playing Overwatch on it, some Starcraft 2, and the occasional retro games from Steam. Out of the games that I play, I think Overwatch and Starcraft 2 would benefit the most with this monitor because the games that I play on Steam are fairly old and don't require high-performance monitors. The monitor itself is fairly light and easy to assemble. Nothing complicated. It's just a simple monitor it comes with an HDMI cable, power cable, and cable management behind the stand itself there is a 3.5mm headphone jack right next to the ports and I've used it. I plugged in a headphone. Nothing outstanding or anything. It just pumps out sound. Played a few matches in Overwatch and constantly hitting 60 FPS with no issues during the match. In areas where spawning occurs, it jumps close to 180 FPS. The colors are bright, viewing angles aren't that bad. It's a good monitor for playing games on. One thing to note as the description says this is about a 24-inch monitor. Nowadays if you really want to do some gaming, you may want to look at 27-inch and one that will do 1440 or higher. But being a 23.8-inch monitor, the size is great if your desk is small or cluttered. It's a good monitor overall.

This is my second Omen 24 inch monitor and this equals or surpasses the prior performance. The other monitor was about four years old and is now being retired to being a second monitor to a laptop while this is attached to my Omen Desktop gaming computer. Results are impressive. The old one was 165 hz while this one is 180 hz. Better response. It also seems brighter than I remember theh old monitor while it was new. Power button relocated to back lower right. Not as easy to feel and locate as the older model but once you use it a couple of times you know where to find it. 2 hdmi and one display port connection. No longer is a power brick needed as this comes with a three prong plug to the back (female) and the standard power outlet three prong (input male). 1080p with tilt and limited up and down (height) adjustment on the base post. Priced at under $200 at the time of writing, this is a great value to add to content creation as a second monitor or like my application of using with a desktop for light gaming and content creation. IPS screen that will help with color adjustments in the future.

My daughter is a casual gamer but more importantly she is a college student that is majoring in arts program. She is doing a lot of work with graphic design and the computer is, in my opinion, the perfect compliment to her needs. The 24" size is perfect because her room and desk is small so something compact is a necessity. We weren't sure about the display clarity because it is only 1080p but since the monitor is only 24" and she is pretty close to the monitor, it comes off as very crisp and clear. As for the gaming experience, it is very smooth. No noticeable blurring or hiccups. All her design works looks great and she loves how responsive the monitor is. There is an adequate amount of inputs with basically all that you really need. Only thing I can complain about is that this is the 1st monitor I've used with a joypad in the back of the display, which took some getting use to. Also, be aware that it also doesn't have an internal speakers but totally understandable at this price point. And at this price, I couldn't be happier.

I recently got my hands on the HyperX OMEN 24 G2 monitor - it's been a game-changer for my setup. As a guy who enjoys winding down with a few rounds of my favorite games after the kids are asleep, having a reliable and smooth display is pretty important. I'm not some pro gamer or anything, but I definitely appreciate a good picture, and this monitor delivers. My old monitor was doing okay, but it was getting a bit long in the tooth, especially when it came to those faster-paced titles. I did a fair bit of research, like any responsible family man trying to get the most bang for his buck, and the specs on this one really caught my eye. The first thing that genuinely blew me away was the refresh rate. This HyperX OMEN boasts a 180Hz refresh rate, and you can absolutely feel the difference. Everything just glides on the screen, whether I'm navigating menus, watching a quick YouTube video, or, most importantly, diving into a competitive match. Games like Valorant or Apex Legends feel incredibly smooth, and I can actually keep up with the action a lot better now. It’s a noticeable step up from the 60Hz or even 120Hz monitors I’ve used in the past. There’s none of that choppiness or blurring when things get hectic, which means I’m not missing crucial details during intense firefights. It really makes the whole gaming experience so much more immersive and, frankly, a lot more fun. My old eyes can actually track things properly without feeling strained. Beyond the speed, the colors on this IPS panel are genuinely fantastic. I've had some monitors in the past that just looked a bit washed out, but this HyperX OMEN 24 G2 is different. The colors are vibrant and accurate right out of the box, which is something I really appreciate. It’s got that 99% sRGB coverage, which might sound like jargon, but it basically means everything looks rich and true to life. Games look gorgeous, from the detailed environments to the character models, and even just browsing photos of the family looks great. It’s a pleasure to look at, and it doesn't feel like I'm compromising on visual quality just to get that high refresh rate. It makes everything pop in a way that truly enhances the overall experience. You can tell they put some effort into calibrating this thing properly, which saves me a lot of fiddling around with settings. My kids even commented on how good the cartoons look on it when they watch their shows. The 1ms response time also works in tandem with the high refresh rate to eliminate ghosting. I honestly can’t detect any blurring, even with super-fast movements. And for someone like me who sometimes gets screen tearing, the AMD FreeSync Premium (which works fine with my Nvidia card, by the way) is a lifesaver. No more annoying lines disrupting the picture, making for a much more polished and enjoyable session. Another thing that really stands out is the stand. This monitor comes with a fully adjustable stand, and it's rock solid. I can adjust the height, tilt, pivot, and even swivel it around. This is a big deal, especially when you're trying to get that perfect ergonomic setup. A lot of monitors in this price range skimp on the stand, so having all these options is a real bonus. It’s heavy and stable, so there’s no wobble. Sure, it's a 1080p monitor, and some folks might want 1440p, but for a 23.8-inch screen, 1080p looks perfectly sharp and lets my graphics card push those high frame rates without breaking a sweat. It might not have built-in speakers or a USB hub, which isn't a huge deal for me since I use headphones and have plenty of ports on my PC. All in all, for competitive gaming and just general everyday use, the HyperX OMEN 24 G2 is a fantastic piece of kit. It brings excellent speed and beautiful colors to the table without breaking the bank. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade their gaming setup without going overboard.

Displays get overlooked. When people talk gaming monitors, the conversation usually starts and ends with refresh rate and how crisp the graphics look. I come at displays from a different angle though, mostly photo work. Color, brightness, contrast, saturation, that kind of thing. I’ve also been gaming since I was a kid. I started on old tube TVs back when you could actually feel static coming off the screen as soon as you’d shut it off, and worked through whatever monitor generations came after. So I have a sense for how displays have evolved and what actually matters when you’re staring at one all day, I do about 12 hours a day. Anyway, I’m reviewing the HyperX Omen 24G2 and after satisfactorily slicing through the taped edges, the contents are a monitor, a stand arm, a base plate, cables, a face plate, and a little cable guide clip you’ll lose if you’re not careful. Setup is straightforward. Screw the stand into the base. It’s a bendable-tab screw, but a star screwdriver works if you want more torque. Then you dock the monitor onto the stand. It’s spring-loaded, clicks on, and there’s a button underneath to release it. One thing I caught flipping through the manual for VESA mount info: you’re supposed to assemble the stand first and dock the monitor while it’s still in the packaging. I’d already pulled it out and stood it up, so I just docked the stand on top of it, kind of like a spaceship landing. Same result either way, but the intended order makes more sense once you see it. Build is all plastic, curved back, HyperX logo on the front. Looks clean enough. The neck rotates multi-directionally so you can flip horizontal to vertical. Around back you’ve got HDMI x2, DisplayPort, an audio out, a 5-way joystick, and a power button. Here’s where I have a problem with it. The build feels cheap. It looks like one of those monitors a company orders in bulk because it’s bland and forgettable. There’s nothing about the design that says gaming monitor to me. I’m not talking about RGB. I’m talking about materials, how it feels in your hands, the overall execution. For a gaming-focused product, that’s a miss. But practically? You’re not really holding it. You’re looking at it. So it doesn’t move the needle much for day-to-day use. On VESA mounting, I didn’t find anything in the manual. Something on the back is protruding in a way that suggests you’d have to remove a metal plate to mount it, but I wasn’t about to start unscrewing things to find out. If wall-mounting matters, verify before buying. Menus are standard: gaming, image, color, input, power, OSD, info, exit. Color presets run FPS, RPG, RTS, sRGB, native, cinema, and HDR Enhanced Plus. HDR Enhanced is the one HyperX is pushing, and honestly it looks solid. Bright too. Running it on a MacBook Pro, it picks up native 1920x1080 at 180Hz. YouTube plays well. I bumped a video from 720 to 1080 and it looks beautiful at this size. It’s a 1080p panel, which is basic, but I shoot at 4K so I always have room to crop. I’ll calibrate with my Spyder before I trust the color long-term, but out of the box it looks good. At $200 for a gaming monitor I can’t complain too much. It’s a budget entry pick and what I see as a caveat might actually be a step up for someone coming off something older.

Typically most of my gaming monitors have been 27 inches or larger. It was nice to get the HyperX Omen 23.8" monitor as is now makes it possible for me to use a gaming monitor with my Asus ROG gaming laptop as well as with my playstation when traveling. The monitor was easy to put together as you must attach the bast to the actual monitor but this took less than 5 minutes. The monitor itself is fairly light at just under 12 lbs. It features @ Hdmi 2.0 ports as well as a DisplayPort 1.4 connection and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The monitor features a 1920x1080 resolution which produces a clear crisp image. The 180 Hz refresh rate is amazing as this is much better than a similar monitor that is a few years older. The 1ms response time resulted in no motion blur whatsoever which is more than I can say about y previous monitor. I also appreciated the HP eye ease feature which reduces blue light therefore reducing eye strain. I appreciate this because I am not a fan of using my blue light glassed all the time. I also liked all of the position tweaks you could make to the monitor as the adjustable height is great when there are multiple people using the same monitor. Overall if you are looking for a affordable gaming monitor that does not take up too much real estate on you desk than I would recommend the Hyoer X Omen monitor

This is a gaming monitor for those who want to take advantage of their high-refresh-rate video cards and games but don't want to spend an arm and a leg on the monitor. It falls right into the 24 inch monitor class and does NOT - I stress NOT - have speakers. Then again, most gamers usually would either use headphones or speakers that go above and beyond what most built-in speakers could even come close to in performance. Resolution is 1920x1080 (standard Full HD) , which puts it squarely onto the resolution that even the most basic gaming graphics card can run smoothly on. Being that it's a 24", it doesn't take up too much desk real estate while not being so small you have to squint to see distant objects. The panel has 2 HDMI inputs and 1 DisplayPort input, so you're covered regardless what type of modern PC you have. This is the second monitor I've had of the OMEN line and I can categorically say that they produce a brilliant picture without breaking the bank. You won't regret getting one of these!

Gaming Monitors are an important factor in not only true game play but also how it game looks and feels as you play it and if you have a subpar monitor it can make all the difference. HP OMEN consistently has been delivering high quality gaming monitors for a few years now and each release is better and better. The HyperX line even at a smaller 23.8 inches packs a punch of high quality graphic interfaces and an easy to use plug and play out of the box monitor you can start using immediately with your gaming set up. What I like about this monitor, you can adjust it, swivel it on its base to turn it vertically which works well with my set up since I want one monitor one way and the other in a verticle fashion. Also, this monitor delivers an HD 180Hz with FreeSync which allows even the most demanding graphics game like Call of Duty to be clear and almost in your face real which HP really knows gaming. Pair this with an HP gaming set up and you have a beautiful gaming system ready to take on any types of games! Highly recommended!

An amazing monitor that far surpassed my expectations! I ordered this to replace my current gaming monitor that is about 7 years old. This monitor only has HDMI and Display port connections, my old monitor had VGA and DVI connections. So, I updated my video card at the same time. But first, I used an adapter from DVI to HDMI to see how this monitor looked. The screen is bright and everything is crisp and sharp. The monitor came in a nice box and was easy to put the base on and set up. The onscreen controls were easy to navigate and configure all of the settings. This wide screen monitor replaces a typical square type monitor. The refresh rate is great and this monitor far exceeds all that I wanted from a gaming monitor for this pc. It has a bunch of color presets that you can choose from, but I choose to use the custom setting and tweak everything to how I liked it to look. Overall, this is a great monitor that will allow me to play my games with a lot more detail. This widescreen 24" monitor is fantastic and I need to order another one to complement it.

Great monitor! But most definitely better for a gaming environment, than a pure office environment... Let me start by saying, I am not going to get into any of the particular specifications of this device, as they are readily available from the Best buy site, the manufacturers site, and from my peers reviews here. What I will comment on, is the user experience... My son is a 24 year-old U.S. Navy Nuclear Engineer, and an avid gamer. I bring this up because it is a testament to his over-all ability focus, and find details (or lack thereof), that a simple 55 year-old man may no longer have the physical ability to experience, or differentiate. Why is this important? Well, this is designed, marketed and sold as a "gaming monitor". I was fortunate enough to have him on leave and home for a couple weeks as we tested this out. To test, we played several games, each one at a time, through this monitor, and then back-to-back on a similar, but non-gamin monitor. To my eye, there was a difference without a distinction between the two monitors. This may have been somewhat "brighter" in movement to my eye, but old eye's lie. To him, he said there was a distinct difference in clarity and "speed" of refreshment in display. Why does this matter? Well, if I am using this as a word or number-cruncher. it's just fine. But so are most monitors. But if you are using this as a gaming machine, where clarity of detail, and refresh rate of viewed information, this is a considerably better choice. That is especially true if you have the advantage of being as mentally acute as a Navy Nuke, but also the joy of having 24-year-old eyes... If however, you are a 55 year-old dude, with the joy of youth in the rearview mirror, this is a great monitor, but the perceived value may not have the same impact on you as it once did. End of the day, this is a gaming monitor, and it serves that purpose well. It also serves an INternet cruiser, word processing, number-crunching platform just as well. If you are a gamer and looki g for a highly accurate platform at a reasonable price, you can't go wrong. I would reccomend to a friend.
